Honestly as an LS guy, I agree, its just an exceptional engine, like the LS will do a million miles...unlike the LS, which needs pretty strict maint after 300k to do it...the 1UZ will chug along as long as the timing and oil is maintained.

@@bpearr8266 I’m looking for a 98’ SC400 specifically. Me and an old friend of mine raced our cars. He had a 92 SC400. I had my 98’ SC300 w/VVTi. In short, we were equal till about 80-100mph. Then! That 1UZ took over! It’s a lot of fun, but the only downside is It’s 4 speed. The 5 speed, i would assume, would help out a lot in get up and go situations. My SC300 is pretty “light in the nose” compared to the 1UZ. The pick up on the SC300 is pretty quick, even with the 4 speed.😎

@@LamborghiniBrotha1 yes the 5 speed makes a world of difference. Shaves a whole second off the 0-60 and quarter mile. Keep in mind the 98-2000 scs are extremely hard to find. Nothing is gonna happen lmao it ain’t 1985 anymore. Every single car I’ve ever owned goes from F all the way until the gas light comes on. Nothing ever happens. The problem comes when you run them (or try to) completely dry.
Not an issue with the 1uz’s. Old sc400’s and ls400’s are known to eat a lot of gas if it’s beaten on often. Also, I’m sure one the 4 o2 sensors he has went out but that’s not really a problem. It won’t affect the drivability.
Oh Hell No! Nope, this is completely unacceptable!! that thing gets up and goes with the v8! i've got an sc300 and sometimes it feels like a dog. but when you are at high speeds its got some oomph. Cant imagine the extra 100+ horsepower
sounds great! i did a similar setup on my rallycross ls400 car. no cats though, 2.5" since im always high rpms anyway. x-pipe, than dual "pre resonators" to double wall tips. sounds amazingg.
The Mopars have a slightly different resonance tbh. Overhead valves (Hemi) versus DOHC (1UZ). Both engine platforms perform beautifully, but there is a difference.
How much do yall charge to do a rear muffler delete on a 99 gs400? I watch your videos all the time, and I'd be willing to drive from NC to meet yall and have you do my exhaust.
Wish knew u guys when I has my 03 Lancer Evo 5 years ago before got totaled that was next thing I going to it was put a brand new exhaust system on it I already did spark plugs, coils & brakes with a little help from friend.
Lol why does it sound like mork and mindy on the inside of the car. Was actually impressed with the outside tone though normally when people modify the exhausts on the 400 engines i think they sound really tinny and weak this was pretty beefy though.
You should hear mine ripping on the track and canyon. Alot of people get surprised and give good compliments when im doing hot laps or just driving in/out of the Pit
It shouldn't. But at the primary cats they will flag the CEL. You can keep it off by using an O2 fouler. That's what i did after i installed my hurricane long tube headers on my 98 sc400, and it was CEL free
Interesting how a vvti 1UZ sounds different with a straight pipe than the earlier ones. Here's a video of a '93 straight pipe with muffler delete: th-cam.com/video/WW3IhEeQ1UM/w-d-xo.html
