Balinese Legong dance performance

This classical Balinese Legong dance performance is a lot like a Western opera with plenty of storytelling that I cannot interpret for you.
I suggest that you pay close attention to the fingers and eyes, that this videographer focuses on frequently.
Notice how the solo dancer discretely picks up fans at one point that are later given to the 2 dancers that job here and take over the performance with lots more storytelling, with frequent interactions including one dancer gaining wings.
All girls are introduced to Legong dance training in school but, at some point decisions are made about who will make this their life career, like ballet dancers in Western culture.
I'm sure that all of this is woven into a deep story that I don't understand, as yet.
