  • Airtable is great as a database for your internal users. But what if you want to extend it for your customers, prospects, or other external participants? In that case, you'll need an Airtable frontend solution, which you can easily build with Softr.

Great Video, Dan! You earned a subscriber with me.
Just a quick couple of questions:
    1) Is data from Airtable to softr static (i.e. just a 'snapshot' of airtable data is captured by softr), or is it dynamic and softr content will change as I add data to airtable?
    2) does this mean that airtable can feed data to softr but softr cannot feed data to airtable (unless we use zapier etc.)?
For context: I'm thinking of using airtable + softr to create a team database for a non-profit I manage, and I would like for them to have their own profiles to see their pending tasks & progress reports, and at the same time be able to add new ones (and even edit existing, if possible!)
I am aware of airtable's Form view and collaborate function, but I was just wondering if there are other workarounds to simplify the external-facing component of the database for the staff.
Any reply would really help. Cheers! 🥂

      Hey, thanks for watching!
Airtable acts as the backend database that stores all of the information. Softr has all of the widgets/controls/pages that you see.
So to answer both 1 & 2, the content is dynamic. As you add records to Airtable, they are visible to the end user in Softr (after a page reload). Likewise, Softr has forms and update actions that actually create/update back in Airtable. So you can add a new task via your /tasks page in Softr, and it will create the task record in your Airtable tasks table.

I was interested to build up the content of the Front end from Artable like the title, description for the hero block and section.. But I see this not possible or I miss something ? The idea is to create automatique Landing page per persona

You can do it by using dynamic blocks instead of static ones. For example, using the list + list details blocks!

How can we do joins and get data from multiple tables at once ?

You could use linked records and lookups in Airtable and then show the joined data in a single table/block in Softr
