I'm 61 and there was allot of great music after 75 too I think the downfall was when synthesizers were used to change music from being used in music look at ZZ Top they were a great example of that how they started changing their sound with electronics look at Eliminator compared to Tejas they can't reproduce the same sound live and nowadays they put singers in key with it too its fake sounding.

Man, I'm going on 76 years old this year, and I've seen 10 Years After live twice with Alvin Lee as lead singer and lead guitar. You absolutely have to react to, I'd Love To Change the World. It is a must watch. Back in the late 60s, early 70s he was actually considered to be the fastesthands guitar player at that time. Jimi Hendrix raved about him after seeing him his first time. He hit his drive and became suddenly well-known after Woodstock. But you must react to, I'd love to change the world. You won't regret it.

Agreed, 100%. From 1964, when The Beatles and the British Invasion hit our shores, to 1974, there was AMAZING music coming from all genres of music, and constantly. This is when bands were putting out at least one album per year, and they were usually great, classics !! Even AM radio was great !! I remember driving around with my parents in the late '60's/early '70's, and the radio was always on an AM station, and I was singing along because the music was SOOOO great...now, radio just sucks overall. Big conglomerate/commercial enterprises with strict/terrible formats. Money again ruins something that was once great, and FREE !!! We were listening to songs about wars in the 60's and 70's. This was 1971 and now in 2023 wars still rage on. Not much has changed in all those years, i hope for my kids to someday live in a world w/out war but i don't think it's possible anymore. I always loved this band, Alvin Lee was one of the best guitar players/vocals ever.
The ancients could have sung these same words about their times and their reflections upon change or the current state of affairs and how the situation can seem to be too big to solve...and so they would have passed the challenges on to others or the next generation to solve.

Great track and still relevant for today. As a teenager, at that time, I really did think we could change the world and make it a better place. Then I grew up, become totally immersed in the rat race of life and became a self-obsessed cockroach absorbing whatever I wanted and leaving a trail of detritus in my wake for future generations to clean up, if they can. Whatever happened to my generation’s dreams. Only consolation are my memorise of great music.

But anyway So we’re sitting in a lot and I’m breaking out the blow and all I expected was for my Buds to stand guard . 2 of them were supposed to bring razors n straws , and of course 2 of them combined couldn’t handle the fuckin job , so I’m using my incisors teeth to cut the straw down , no razor or mirror so I’m crushing this coke rock with a key off of my key ring ,.. Man, I'm going on 76 years old this year, and I've seen 10 Years After live twice with Alvin Lee as lead singer and lead guitar.
You absolutely have to react to, I'd Love To Change the World. It is a must watch. Back in the late 60s, early 70s he was actually considered to be the fastesthands guitar player at that time. Jimi Hendrix raved about him after seeing him his first time. He hit his drive and became suddenly well-known after Woodstock. But you must react to, I'd love to change the world. You won't regret it.

Vietnam was still raging when this came out. I was a teenager. This song stood the test of time to this day. Amazing. Alvin Lee, the most underrated guitarist. This song is as relevant now as it was then.

Agreed, 100%. From 1964, when The Beatles and the British Invasion hit our shores, to 1974, there was AMAZING music coming from all genres of music, and constantly. This is when bands were putting out at least one album per year, and they were usually great, classics !! Even AM radio was great !! I remember driving around with my parents in the late '60's/early '70's, and the radio was always on an AM station, and I was singing along because the music was SOOOO great...now, radio just sucks overall. Big conglomerate/commercial enterprises with strict/terrible formats. Money again ruins something that was once great, and FREE !!! Listen to those cd's, pop in your Spotify playlists, and that's the only way to do it these days !! Albums at home, always !! 👍👍🎸🔊🎶🎶🎵🎶🎙🎵🎶🎵🎵😎

We were listening to songs about wars in the 60's and 70's. This was 1971 and now in 2023 wars still rage on. Not much has changed in all those years, i hope for my kids to someday live in a world w/out war but i don't think it's possible anymore. I always loved this band, Alvin Lee was one of the best guitar players/vocals ever.
The ancients could have sung these same words about their times and their reflections upon change or the current state of affairs and how the situation can seem to be too big to solve...and so they would have passed the challenges on to others or the next generation to solve.

These were still the experimental days of audio technology and combined with the artistic flow of the era, listen to what they created!! Pure magic! I learned this song the day it hit the radio back in the 60's &was playing it throughout the battles I competed against !

As a teenager, at that time, I really did think we could change the world and make it a better place.
Then I grew up, become totally immersed in the rat race of life and became a self-obsessed cockroach absorbing whatever I wanted and leaving a trail of detritus in my wake for future generations to clean up, if they can.
Whatever happened to my generation’s dreams.
Only consolation are my memorise of great music.

@@safffff1000 That is not true, the young people today have it just as bad if not way worse than we did, you just don't see it cos social media algorithms promotes things that anger people cos that's what gets the most clicks so you only see the worst of people, plus our political system has gone bananas freaking out about fake stories of kids using litter boxes in schools.
The reality is these kids are working two jobs getting payed little and paying extraordinarily high prices for everything, while being told they are woke lazy pieces of crap. A lot of us old people seem to forget that the media and corporations are the enemy still trying to control us into being obedient passive consumers. I'd rather be a woke fighter than a sleeping sheep ready for slaughter.
