Very good. I attended a seminar with Dr.Jacob Tal back in the '70s and have been in machine tool control (CNC) for >40 years.
Currently, we are working on a closed loop system where the position feedback is one (or more) linear scales per axis.
We are developing a very low cost absolute scale.
The applications are for desktop 3d printers and light cnc machining ( aluminum).
You didn't mention the possible integration with acceleration look ahead and possibly NURBS; the objective is optimal positioning accuracy coupled with shortest part making time.
Are you interested in discussing this?

I'm confused about the calculation of required resolution of the encoder at 21:02. 50 * 8 is 400, not 4000. Is there some assumption omitted, or does it include some level of microstepping?

Thank you for this interesting lesson.
I have one question,Can you make a video about the mathematical part
