    ==========================
    This lesson is a continuation of a series of lessons involved with learning about Stepper Motors and Servo Motors. If you haven’t already, please review our previously released lesson on, What is a Stepper Motor and How it works.
    In this lesson, we will discuss the Stepper Motor Advantages and Disadvantages compared to Servo Motors.
    Have you ever thought about how a robotic arm moves with precision or how graphics printers create accurate replications of images, or how consumable products are moved precisely around a plant floor or any other type of motion control positioning system?
    Together with the recently RealPars published video, What is a Stepper Motor and How it Works, and this lesson, you will learn about Stepper Motor Advantages in motion control when using different types of motors available, primarily stepper and servo motors.
    Selecting between a stepper motor and servo motor can be quite a challenge with the balancing of several design factors in cost considerations, torque, speed, acceleration, and drive circuitry all play an important role in selecting the best motor for your application.
    In this lesson, we will discuss the many advantages along with the disadvantages of Stepper Motors.

    Wonderful animation and your teaching is wonderful . I was working as a technician at an audio and video cassette company in 1994. I used to repair italian automated machine called GIMA Bologna. As a electronic engg learned mechanical Electrical, electronics PLC,hydrolic. Pnematic in saudi arabian company. At that time there was no such teaching facility available. Italian engg teaching us little bit

    first let me say that your videos are impressive, very invested and knowledgeable. I wonder, there are steppers with feedback, that makes them servo steppers. so if the feedback is not an issue, what will you choose for CNC lathe or mill? personally, I think that the stepper will go into position in a natural manner with minimum corrections needed while regular ac/dc servo will always need to resonate around the target point. so unless speed [and noise] is a primer consideration I will always choose steppers.

      @realpars  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct. A stepper motor is the likely choice for a CNC lathe or mill. They are precise and highly accurate. Stepper motors can be outfitted with feedback, which in some applications helps to detect and prevent "stall".
