Yep that's true and it's the only reason why I can't trust iphone in India.
Funny how most people use the excuse that their old iphone is amazing and all iphones are the same yet they’ll change the exterior to pretend to have the newest one

@@Zaidoesstuff what do you mean i wouldn’t understand the phone?? I have a 14 and I know tons of people with a 13. I could tell immediately something would be off from looking at the displays and the cameras
@@Zaidoesstuff an XR. I’d be able to tell seeing as the iPhone X as well as the iPhone 11 has dual cameras and no other iPhone with a notch has a single camera.
I also know what phone someone has by the look of the front and back.
While you’re probably NOT the first to do it you are the first I’ve seen do it, thanks for the video wanted to know if it was possible.. I mean it should have been anyways since MagSafe is literally just a magnet surrounding the Wireless Charging circuit supplied in the original iPhones since iPhone 8
I made that last year with a 11 to 12 and put the magnets
Well yes but actually no. Technically yes there is no physical difference but Apple has(in true Apple fashion) locked down the wireless charging system so the only way to have 15w wireless charging is only available with MagSafe chargers.
There's also the NFC chip that Magsafe has that you wont get from this upgrade

I say do it. I’ve been doing it for 2 years. Our shop isn’t as nice as Guru’s but it’s just as rewarding and you’re going to be somebody’s best friend every time.

I've got an iphone 7 and looking to upgrade in the future, might pick up a poor condition xr for cheap and do this conversion. Awesome video though.
Buy a 11 instead bro. It's dirt cheap yet better than Xr. Convert that to 13 pro instead. Hope this helps

Great video. Just to add though. It’s not compatible with MagSafe just the magnets. Since MagSafe standard has some data transfer and handshaking. So you would be limited to 7.5W wireless charging and any future accessories that use the data transfer for handshake/protocol negotiations would not work. I would assume the new MagSafe wallets with find my features won’t work. Just another thing to keep in mind if you want to “upgrade” your iPhone. This is so cool though. I wish more shops around the world did these kind of cosmetic retrofit upgrades.

If you add magnets to a non MagSafe iPhone, it will charge as shown in the video. Be aware that more heat ‘may be produced and you will get very slow charging. In my experience I got less than 5 watts with a Belkin MagSafe charger, apple magsafe charger and anker magsafe charger.

Or just get a case for the XR that has a MagSafe magnets in the back. If you don’t want a case, just get some MagSafe magnets decals. The only thing that sucks is the “Apple battery pack” does not show nor add the features associated with using the battery pack. The XR will not show the battery’s percentage nor let you tell the battery not to charge at or pass 90%.
Could you possibly change an iPhone 11 to iPhone 12 housing? I want to see how it works because I love the square feel of the 12 but have the 11 and can’t afford upgrading

Thanks for sharing with us. I'm on Android but Apple is such a great phone but I believe they need the go back to their roots of stable software with an appealing design. The iPhone 13 as well as 14 are wonderful phones. My biggest decision for changing was developer options because it allowed me to survive electrocution

Are these housings available for something like an iphone 7/8/SE? Or at least is there an Alibaba manufacturer you know of that will do custom frames? Ever since the iPhone 6 to the 10 I thought it should've kept the squared corners. I don't necessarily want the back to be modernized, I just want a squared off frame instead of rounded on my SE 2022. I have a ton of phones but this is my newest one to toy around with. I had a crazy modded 4s back in the day with led logo and speaker grill leds, anodized purple frame, and genuine carbon fiber backplate. I think also did some diy qi charging support eventually. That could've been my 5s though not sure

@@TDD95 the flash works completely fine and is in the same positon as the reall 13, because the housing has a custom flash cable that is changed to be in the right positon
