When people do this becuase they haven't heard a vehicle coming I do wonder of the carnage we are storing up when electric cars and tracks become more common.
This demonstates one of the geratest problems with shared foot and cycle paths; pedestrians are not taught to look at the markings. I suppose I work on the principle that pedestrians are slower moving than me and I should give them room, which is what I would like cars to do for me on the road.

Grrr, Pedestrians. No insurance, don't pay path tax and they all run across roads and swerve all over the path as if they own the place. They should be made to wear licence plates and not be allowed on the path without mandatory training.
