I love those lovely little "preambles" they used to sing to the songs they wrote then. Often just as lovely as the main tune itself. Too bad that does not exist anymore.
I feel the same way too. Unfortunately, that is life. I miss Jack Lemon - he was a very funny guy and his movies including those sad ones "The Days of Wine and Roses." RIP
It's sad the split with her Daughter, but the more I watch Shirley's vast catalogue of work, it shows how she was born to perform with so much talent that had to be expressed. Out on a LImb, WAWTG, The Apartment...Terms of Endearment along with her dancing and interpretations of songs....not forgetting here the wonderful work of Jack Lemmon...Days of Wine and Roses, The Apartment and the one I can't remember the title of which I've watched numerous times...well as the man says at the end....'nobody's perfect'.
No that was "The Trouble with Harry" by Alfred Hitchcock in 1955. Her first Oscar nomination came for "Some Came Running" three years later, co-starring with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
Wow! That was amazing! Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine were both great in both "The Apartment" and "Irma La Douce". Such a terrific pair!

She gave her all to the people. Started as a kid and she still keeps giving in her late 80s. I will never dare to criticize this woman.
I've seen it thrice and still love it! :)
Indeed, a real great film. Good job by Billy Wilder, too. But, Jack and Shirley were two-peas-in-a-pod! :)
