You are right about Sir Markvart von Aulitz. He was the leader of an army from Prague that besieged Kutná Hora (Kuttenberg) at the behest of Sigismund in 1402. His soldiers razed and pillaged much of the area around the town. He died after being struck by an arrow during the siege of Suchdol on 27 December 1402, which is actually the real date of besieging Suchdol Castle which is around 7 km from Kutná Hora and there is shown being besieged in 1403 in the trailer, so again a different date and alternative universe for Henry and his adventures.
He may not be alive during the actual time frame but I love that we all get sucked into history deep dives. This series has done more than just entertain us, but intrigues us as well. I love it!
6:10 is definetly Jan Žižka, Toth doesnt make any sense and most important thing everyone missed is that he has a Mace on his side which Žižka is most known for using and is depicted with on every picture and statue in Czech Republic
Hey Dare ! It's bigvadrouiller the french researcher from KCD server It would have been with pleasure to analyse with you and here it is my help (: I can also really help with history, so here it is the info you need to know For the character with the word "Outlaw" it is not just anyone but it is Dry Devil, his real name: Hynek of Kunstat He was a Moravian rebel lord and warrior who fought in the war of the margraves, and who participated in the civil war with his friend Jan Sokol of Lamberg (he will be 100% in the game because we can see his coat of arms in the new IGN video), the two formed a rebel alliance and bandit army. For the scene with the 3 characters, Marvart, Erik and Henry III of Rosenberg, they are at the Malesov fort of the Ruthard family (if you need proofs I got images). For the presence of Sigismund it is historically correct. He was there in Kuttenberg on July 18, 1403 at Italian Court to organize a security meeting with his close allies: League of Lords, because of the acts of the rebels taking place. He left on July 24, 1403 in Hungary to face the rebellion of Ladislaus I of Naples. (We might go infiltrate according to my analyses) The scene of the siege and the bombardment on the fort, it is the Nebakov fort. Today it has disappeared and according to the archaeological reports, the fort has collapsed. For the scene with Erik and his army, it is still Italian Court where there will be an important fight. The village that is set on fire, it is during the first act of treason where Otto III of Bergow decides to burn Semin Hillfort (Seminsky Dvur) where there was the wedding And for the scene of the great army, it is the army of the rebel alliance (there are several colored coats of arms like Leipa, Kunstat, Semin etc) where Henry is the leader. There are 3 possibilities: 1: It's when Henry managed to seek rebel reinforcements to save Suchdol (I doubt it) 2: It's the Battle of Kuttenberg, even if it seems unlikely and too big for this 3: It's probably the historical Battle of Lochy, where the rebel army ambushed the army of the military governor Smil Flashka who led a royal army and League of Lords against Kuttenberg. Im sure it will be here ! It's a great pleasure to share my passion and I hope I can maybe help :D
6:10 That is almost certainly Jan Žižka, rather than Toth. The armor is the exact same as the previously seen footage of Žižka, with himself being confirmed by a collaboration leak with another game… 8:54 I’m fairly certain that this “outlaw” is Dry Devil, or Hynek of Kunštát. Information surrounding him is unfortunately scarce, yet it does seem he could be woven into the games lore… 15:34 Sigismund was elected King of the Romans in 1410 I believe, with him not being elected as the Holy Roman Emperor until the 1430s. As for his titles during KCD, I’m fairly certain he just held the Kingdoms of Hungary and Croatia during that time period… And yes, Markvart died in 1402 during the Siege of Kuttenburg if I’m not mistaken. I’d be more than willing to bet Henry gets his revenge on him by the end of the game, or perhaps it’s the players choice. As the devs have confirmed multiple endings for the game…
I think the voice sounds nothing like Toth. Toths voice has such a unique sound in my ears and I feel like ive heard it before and I always makes me wonder where ive heard it, the guy who says "war is a nasty bussiness" does not make me feel like that so I highly doubt its Toth
(POTENTIAL SPOILERS) I dont think its from Markvart in the end. I think that is Hynek the Dry Devil (the menacing man with the bowl cut who stands over henry) historically he got his nickname for being tall and lanky and "Devil" came from his extremely violent behaviour. You actually see Dry Devil in the 43 minute gameplay showcase from IGN and you hear his voice and I am 90% sure thats the same voice actor as the one in the trailer. You learn from the end of the warhorse gameplay showcase that Henry will take part in a guerilla style rebel campaign that the Dry Devil likely leads or has high authority within because Henry tells the polish guy Dry Devil sent him and for him to go to the "devils den". I think that monologue will likely come from Dry Devil when henry questions his brutality or something after a big guerilla raid and maybe even in the very scene where he stands over henry holding a long sword.
@@griffinswanepoelyoung7848 yea thats him with the helmet you can particularly see it when you compare the shot of him facing henry down with a dagger and comparing that to the frame at 1:53 in the IGN 43 minute video. Thats actually why I and many others are very confident the man with the bowl cut is Dry Devil because they have the same side profile and face structure and we know for a fact that the old commander is named dry devil because of the objectives and at one point I think they hovered the cursor over him and it said "Dry Devil".
@genericname786 don't want to speculate too much. I wanna go in spoiler free if possible...apart from that castle... well the year 1403 someone prominent may die there. If ya know what I'm sayin 😏
4:00 This is a different ambush than the beginning one, as Henry and Hans are in the lake chasing girls during the first… The characters in this second ambush are also different people, with one of them seemingly appearing later in the trailer… Regardless, thank you for the in depth breakdowns. Along with the continued coverage of KCD, I can’t wait until you start making more lore videos on “Parry This”!
@ In some footage, we see Henry and Hans in the lake as their entourage is ambushed, after that we know they attempt to escape the area only to be caught out and for Henry to stumble off a cliff with a bandit… This then leads into some dream sequences, and then back to Hans carrying Henry into the herb woman’s home. Henry will lose some perks and overall his stats will decrease, yet he will still be much more proficient as compared to KCD:1’s beginning…
I have seen footage of Henry falling off the cliff with his amour and in his skivvies. Maybe this signals two different outcomes based on different choices?
I think the voice is Markvart saying "I remember everyone I killed." with Zizka responding "Are you sure you didn't kill someone's mother or father", probably followed by an introduction to Henry, to allow Henry to deal the final blow. The line "War is a nasty business" seems to hint that Istvan Toth is aligned with Zizka, and that Henry initially comes into conflict with Zizka because of it and the either takes Istvan's place after killing him or is forced to work together.
2:38 Oh, you dont know the half of it. I live near this castle and even though its a ruin now its still the dominant of the surrounding landscape, I cant even imagine how it must have looked in its glory days.
The siege cannon firing at the keep in the trailer is a 'Lazy Mette' (lazy maiden). Because the metallurgy wasn't advanced enough at the time it was made from several slabs of metal instead of one piece- as later cannons were made.
I made a bunch of comments on the first ign video and Reddit but I’ll post them here bc this is positive discussion *1.) after the ambush of a “smil flashka” and some other not really notable battles (like the siege of suchdol) Wenceslaus either negotiated or parleyed SOMETHING that got him relaxed terms in his captivity, he then escaped and met jobst who had a 50 man army with him, they rode to kuttenburg and stopped the siege* *2.) in one of the ign breakdowns I got a screenshot of a siege and a quest named “so it begins” with a clear shot of jan zizka and godwin on the battlements with Henry, this could mean the game may have 50 hours of gameplay before u even start the first siege, and I’ve counted about 5 siege sequences so far, the game may be massive* *3.) the mysterious soldier with the green and black brigandine (holding a dagger) is hynek the “dry devil” one of jobst men, or r they related? Idk, anyways,,,, Hans Capon had a son later in life he named hynek* *4.) the lord of suchdol castle was also in skalits in attempts to rebuild after the siege of kuttenburg* *5.) Henry 3 was known as rhe punisher of rebels, so expect harsh resistance, Henry IS the bandit this time around, sigismund has power, every “knight” under a banner of Wenceslaus was immediately an errant, in aspects* *6.) (not story driven) the armor is 10/10 historically accurate now, if u want DRIP CD 2 this is ur game.*
6:50 It is definitely Jan Žiška and it seems that Henry is the one who will fight him and as you can see in 13:15, Žiška will lose his eye, even he lost his eye in age of 12, but this is probably better for an alternative universe of KCD :)
Except Jan lost his right eye, IRL. The in game person is holding his left eye. Also there is some debate as to when Jan lost his eye. Some historians place that event in the 1410s. So I think this IS Jan Zizka, but Henry did not take his eye.
(8:54) My feeling is that this is the "Dry Devil". I think we get a glimpse of him in a vid with Godwin but I don't think we get a good look at him there. I didn't.
6:12 I think it's either Toth speaking, or someone completely different. Maybe the Dry Devil, who knows. BUT! They are trying to confuse us, it is not the character on screen who's talking. That character is definitely Jan Žižka.
