I'm American, been lovin' these guys since 94. It's beyond me why most people down here haven't gotten into this phenomenal band. You canadians are very lucky and talented. Also, great neighbors. Rock On!
There's a sadness, but also a deep happiness is listening to this song now and seeing how many people in the crowd casually know every single word. How someone so poetic could become so well known, and yet still so genuine and caring, it's a beautiful thing that we got to witness and be a part of. All I can say is "thank you" and "you never let us down".
I hail from Massena NY and have been a Hip Fan since 1990. In over 20 years, I never get sick of the riffs and the power this band calls forth in their performances. I have listened to the vast collection of their music many hundreds of times over. Never has there been a more down to earth group of individuals in the music scene. You are a God Damn Credit to your country and I am honored to have had the privilege of growing up with your music. SO MANY good times, Thank you so much.
I can't believe those words were the last he ever sang on stage with the hip. So sad and strong in the most awkvard way. Nothing but Love for you Gord.
Always powerful performances. So moved by and proud of Gord D. and the band in this most difficult of times. Best wishes and thoughts for Gord, his family and friends.
Why do all these people need validated in their musical preferences? Who cares how many views it has? But if it helps you, this band and video f...ng rocks.
I am disgusted with the use of this song in a Canadian Tire commercial. How dare they! Downie is a national treasure - living or dead. Show some respect!
How someone so alive can be gone is a mystery to me.......miss you Gord.
This is one of the greatest bands to ever walk this earth.

Stanley Anderson Please let your president know that..
@@geoff19 He wasn't MY President.
The Hip, Rush, Bruce Cockburn etc. Canada is rich in musical talent. Joni Mitchell and Neil Young along with Gordon Lightfoot... indeed!
