They don't make TV shows like this anymore. Rest well Robert Stack. His amazing voice creeped me out as a kid & it still creeps me out now at 36.

The opening reenactment definitely cost a pretty penny to film. Can't believe they actually did all that. We're talking a stunt driver, a stunt woman, a stunt coordinator, one actor, at least two or three camera ops, a set medic, a director and all for the opening reenactment of this show. Crazy!

The show paints Will as a bad drunk. I met Will when we both were working on the movie Dante's Peak in the little Idaho town of Wallace. In the evenings a group of us would play pool and drink beer in a bar. What I saw was a young, polite, genuine human being. He was telling me about his desire to be a real actor and he told me he had tapes of the Stanislavski method of acting in his car. As our fun-loving group got tighter, for some reason Will confided in me he was gay but not like he was ashamed or anything. I was raised very conservative but I'm not judgemental and it was ok with me, but there was one goofy guy in our group that made an inappropriate gay joke, and Will didn't do anything. I just remember Will as a warm, genuine, laid-back, nice guy. I thought it was interesting how he had no stereotypical gay mannerisms or speech. I think he would blend in at any party. Since his disappearance every now and then I look him up to see if there's any progress in the case. Very sad.

Also, if Wil broke his neck; in decomposition it would account for his head being separate from the body. I found that really disturbing that all they found was his head :/ He was either decapitated or his neck was maimed in a serious fracture. I really hope it was the ladder. Unless it was a sex game gone wrong with Wil's partner or someone we don't know about that Wil may have had an affair with purposely or accidentally did either. He may have lived a double life. Just thought about that. Wouldn't be the first case that an affair got some deep 6'ed.

@@Strype13 Totally disagree, the UFOs and legends segments were important as they gave viewers a "break" between dark or violent stories. Sure the criminal cases are the best and most important segments by far, but if the show would have been all murders or dark stuff then it might have turned a number of viewers away. The paranormal segments were often placed at strategic moments, to give viewers a breather and that's clever TV. I think they stopped doing the paranormal stories in the latter seasons due to budget issues and restrictions; you can tell in earlier seasons that the UFOs segments were very expensive to shoot due to CGI and computer graphics and elaborate reenactments (particularly for old cases like Roswell and Kecksburg), and that the budget they had for the last few seasons wasn't the same as when the show was on NBC. That's a big reason, with the money they had they probably decided to stick to criminal cases.

Long story short, when I was in high school I knew a girl who was a known liar. She had a crush on one of our male teachers. I never saw him act inappropriately towards her or anyone else. She was the only one who ever accused him, she changed her story repeatedly, and he resigned. Even after she all but admitted that she made it up there were still people who think that he must have done something. It ruined his career; at least it was before social media.

Young children do not lie about these things and it is disgusting to think anyone would doubt a child who told. Unfortunately, it happens a lot because of this kind of attitude you display. In the case of teenagers and adults, false reports are actually extremely rare and it is a sorry excuse for blaming the victim and protecting potential perpetrators to say 'disbelieve the accuser unless you have absolute proof, in case it harms the accused.' People don't say this rubbish about any other kind of crime except sexual violence. I don't know what you're blathering about with the mugging bit, but there are plenty of circumstances in which people accuse others of making up being victimized. It happened in 1999. He killed 3 people. First Carson then my cousin Barbara and her boyfriend. He shot my cousins boyfriend (Chris Barnes ) in the head then he attacked and raped my cousin (Barbara Leggitt) then he strangled her. These were random killings I promise. I even saw that guy in the Perry county court house. He admitted to killing them all. There were no ties to these victims to him. Random serial killer. No remorse for him. My uncle did not know where his daughter (Barbara ) was at for 5 years. He had no answers that long until that guy thought the cops were watching him at his house but they were watching a drug house next to his so he went and turned himself in. I’m glad we all got closure but it is all nonsense. Glad he’s in prison has 3 life sentences he will die in there but it shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

The stories in the latter seasons are still interesting, but it jumped at me that I didn't see a few classic cases in these Robert Stack seasons: what happened to the Orange socks murders? Or the chilling "L'enfant"? I think a few segments were left off, for these new uploads. I could be wrong. 😕

Yeah unfortunately due to legal reasons, Flimrise can't show certain segments. In a Q&A they said It mostly has to do with statute of limitations on those cases, or they were denied to be included at the request of law enforcement or the families that were involve with the case.
It's a real shame, yes. But just be happy that Flimerise was even granted permission to upload as much of the UM series as they could to just about any streaming service.
