I’m so sorry that you have to got through the prejudice. It’s amazing because given the crimes against the world you would think my American passport would be the hardest. When my friend traveled to Nigeria a border agent actually told her not to go it’s full of scammers! If you ask me most are just jealous of your immense intelligence and talent in Nigeria. There are similarities in our journeys too with my worst travel experiences coming from within the continent. I feel bad for genuine tourists from countries such as Nigeria and India, as it's very hard for them to get visas due to extremely high rates of citizens from those countries breaching their visa conditions (working illegally on a tourist visa, overstaying etc). It was mentioned in this video, but the best way to get a visa if you have a difficult passport is definitely to build up a compliant travel history with countries that are a bit easier to travel to. Show that you have a history of being a genuine tourist and sticking to your visa conditions, and never lie at a visa interview.

I have travelled to 18 countries only and I totally agree with everything you’ve said. Start with the easy, less expensive places and build your experience. Learn to travel during off peak seasons - it costs so much less. Hotels and flights are more than half the price. Plan your trips early and buy tickets 4 to 6months in advance. You will get ridiculously cheaper rates as compared to buying them one month or 2 weeks in advance. Live within your means. Traveling to see the world is different from traveling to show off. The former is cheaper and has more value. Those are my tips. Thanks for these amazing videos Tayo. I hope I can start vlogging my trips soon.❤

The last part of the video shows the current reality of traveling with a Nigerian passport: denials and maltreatment.
I started the traveling adventure since last year with a tour of Africa. Some of the things I learnt:
/ Travel with 2- and 3- pin electric adaptors. You will save money renting ones wherever you are
/ Security: check travel advisory for the country and read-up about where you travel to.
/ Learn some basic language of the target country. It helps integration.
/ Staying among locals vs staying in hotels. The former affords you direct contact and helps you learn more.

You are working in what the Monks call The Mode of Goodness; that is to take one step at a time to create your abundance in your life right now. It's sad how we Africans treat each other. I understand the history behind it, but it's not right that people from outside Africa, sometimes from countries that colonized us, find it easier to move around here than we do. This isn't new; it's been a problem for a long time, and some African countries are even making it worse. We have to do better.
Tayo, no matter what they say, this is your continent, and you're loved here. Sometimes, those closest to us can hurt us the most. But keep your head up and enjoy exploring your continent.

Tayo I totally agree with you, when we traveling:
-learn the basic Hello ,how are you? In the local language(Google & YT are ur friends).
-book affordable but comfortable accommodation in safe locations.
-youdon't have to eat in hotels/fast food joints. We might try one meal to compare, lol.
    - research ,research & more research on places we want to visit.
    - we save money in advance.
    - we have a budget that we stick to.
-"touristy" places are not always the best places to visit & they are often over priced, especially in peak season.
-avoid going to places that are currently trending cos they are over crowded & over priced.
And lastly our people (Africans) are generous ,helpful & a welcoming beautiful group of humans,we have been offered accommodation, food, tours, transport totally free. Been invited to weddings & parties (hello home cooked & free meals😂).
Lastly when going into a country/city/town/village that's a different culture to yours,be open minded & never forget your humanity.
Happy travels my African bros, sistas, cousins & friends.
    Asante sana❤

I have traveled to 24 countries, including leaving and working in Germany for 6 years. I went to Italy, Belgium, France, Czech Republic, Australia, Turkey, and many other African countries, including South Africa. When I applied for the US visa in January of 2023, I was asked if I had ever traveled out of Cameroon, I said yes and gave the visa officer my passport. She flipped the passport back and forth and asked me why I traveled so much. I told her I'm a researcher, so I traveled to different countries for work. She looked at me and said, "Sorry, we can not give you a visa at this time.
I guess the moral of the story is that, when it comes to a US visa, it's all boiled down to LUCK!!

Thanks for this video. I have learned a lot and I am ready to do some traveling. I am Jamaican living in Nigeria 🇳🇬 and i believe the Jamaican passport is also one of the hardest passports but when you travel to places and return home i think that really helps your chances of traveling to more places. The visa people see you love your country and want to return as sometimes they fear letting you into their country because of illegal immigration Japa (runwhey)...😂

    • @jamdawgutube
      @jamdawgutube 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

There is nothing wrong with the Jamaican passport. And Jamaicans don't have problems getting a visa if they can show they have a job and coming back after their trip abroad. Sometimes people have nothing in Jamaica going on for them and they end up getting the visa. I don't think your travel history (unless you've travelled to highly developed countries) has anything to do with it. You have to show, to the satisfaction of the consular officer, that you have enough ties to your home country and that you have the ability to pay for you trip. Even so, for some nationals, like Nigerians, even when they present everything, they usually get denied, unfortunately.

Who told you that Jamaicans don't have a problem getting visas? Please check your facts!!! Many Jamaicans are turned down at the US and Canadian embassies every year.. Hey Tayo! It is refreshing to see a Nigerian having to travel the world for a living and seeing the world from your perspective. As a Filipino passport holder, I know the feeling of the constant paper work of getting visas (to western countries) and being second screened at the border, as Filipinos have a reputation of overstaying visas in order to look for work.
Always build your travel history, adhere to its conditions and be law abiding. Travel to nearby countries and build it from there, then overtime apply for a visa to a country that is hard to get with. Everything is a pattern that something leads to another.
Believe it or not, you are still representing the country of the passport that you hold - think of it as an impromptu ambassador - a minor thing would make a big difference. After living in Malaysia as a student, I can understand why Nigerians (or West Africans in general) have a reputation in the eyes of immigration.
As much as I want a western passport or legally buying/donating/investing in one, I'd rather travel with the passport that I hold now. I like the challenge that it brings and some novelty that it brings (as a bragging right haha)
There are other travellers on YT travelling with a weaker passport, if they can do it, then why not?
(PS Did you know that since you hold a US visa, you can use it as a ''visa substitute'' to other 30+ visa required countries such as Canada, Mexico, Argentina etc. just to name a few)

One should be careful with whom they deal with and how one carries oneself around.
I was scammed on my first visit to Ethiopia (Addis Ababa) in 2018 eight. I think I was naive to trust strangers.
It is also true that what we do as foreigners in other people's countries (I include my fellow KE citizens here) contributes to how we are viewed there. Wherever we go we must be good ambassadors of our home countries.
