There's beauty in simplicity :) Great to see the review of this superb machine....Looking much less austere with the yellow paint job :)) Thanks for producing and sharing this. Keep up the great work, mate :))
It really is a stunner! The camera does not quite pick up the true colour of it, really is lovely and rich. Must say it really is up there with some of the recent releases. I really do look forward to seeing more models from them in the future :)
Would look quite at home on Compton Quay! Great review, once again mate. An interesting colour scheme, to say the least, though it suits the prototype well.
Wow, what a great looking model and a brilliant review, had to watch it with sunglasses on tho 😂 lol. I have two DJ models 14xx's on pre order from Hattons, I can't wait to get those. Cheers Howard.
Great review of the stunning new model by DJModels. I didn't know they released one in that colour certainly stands out. Am hoping to get the LNER version when they release it. .....Andy
Thanks Andy. Glad you enjoyed. They really are superb little models. Oh yes, she sure stands out on the layout indeed. Must say the LNER ones do look very smart, hopefully shouldn't be too long now. Many thanks indeed!
When the locomotive was brought to Cadley Hill from Manvers Main the NCB were hoping that with it being relatively new it would be in pretty good condition. However they found it had led a hard life and went and bought ''Swiftsure' from Dodsworth Colliery as a source of spares. That locomotive was in such a good state that they didn't want to break it up, and in fact lit her up and had a run about the colliery yard after it arrived.
Thanks for the info on her. Never knew that. Funny enough I want to the Avon Valley Railway the other day, where 'Sapper' was running. From what I recall, her current boiler is from this very loco!
The yellow livery is a very 'safe' one. Hi-vis all round & all that. It would make the usual state of filth of any colliery locomotive look even worse.
An excellent review of a stunning loco. I'm planning on getting one, but i can't decide which livery! I've narrowed it down to either Hattons' NCB Littleton Blue, Hackworth NCB Lined Black or NCB Red with Wasp Stripes. Any Thoughts. Cameron
Thanks ever so much indeed Cameron! Ohhh, hard choice. They are all very nice liveries. For me I think it would be between 'Littleton' and the NCB Red, both look stunning, especially with the weathering :) Though I think I would most likely go for the red one myself :) Many thanks indeed!
Very nice. I enjoyed watching that. Useful review, im seriously thinking of getting br 68012 based on the high peak railway. Although this one is a bit too bright for me! Thanks for showing us.
Thanks ever so much indeed! They really are stunning little models. The livery is very Marmite, you either love it or hate it... I think you know what I think of it ;) Glad you enjoyed!
DJ Models should definitely do the Hunslet 50550 class. I don’t know how much of the class was built from the number of the first one to be built and the number of the last one to be built. If you know, please do let me know
Sadly don't quite know myself. However DJ Models is now a defunct company, but there are plenty of other manufacturers that might take on the challenge
Wow cool review of the model. I do like the N.C.B. yollow livery on your model and I will be looking forward & interesting to see it hauling N.C.B. minimal wagon in your next video. One question I have is DJModels Hunslet Austerity are better then Hornbys?
Thanks ever so much mate! Really do love the livery. Certainly stands out on the layout ;) Oh yes, will be a must, got a few events coming up this weekend, which will come first, but it will be coming ;) In short, yes. Really is an all out stunning model. Hornby's is slightly heavier and can pull a bit more, but the detail on this one is just stunning!
I've gone blind! ;) you were right when you said it would be bright, lovely loco, much better quality and accuracy than other modellers. Keep the faith - Callum
sunglasses at the ready here comes the yellow peril haha. a nice long coal train video coming soon. I was lucky enough to drive this ones sister no.66 at the buck railway centre earlier in the year lovely locos real and models forms.
Oh yes! I did warn everyone ;) Oh yes, it will be a must, just need to find the time to film it. Got a few videos from a busy weekend of events to come first. Wow! Very lucky! Hopefully 65 will join her in steam one day, and hopefully in this livery ;) Glad you enjoyed
I know ;) A bit short on time at the moment, got a back log of locos and sets to review at the moment, as mentioned it maybe a while yet. Will try and get around to it as and when I can
I am ever so sorry about it mate, but will try my best. Takes a fair bit of time to film these little review. This one took over 7 hours to create (research, filming and editing)! :D
It does have that effect ;) Dave really has done a cracking job indeed! Really is a stunner! Oh yes, will certainly be interesting to see that when they arrive. If they are anything like this, they will be superb!
Again great review Callum! Tbh don't like Austerities in yellow much more prefer dark blue! Other than that I love the amount of research and detail that went into it! I'll never look at them the same way again! I thought 18 was a large number of preserved members of a Class but 70, Christ :)
Thanks ever so much Dan! Must admit is is a Marmite Livery ;) Certainly did spend a far bit of time looking at the background of the class and loco itself. Really was very interesting indeed! Turns out her boiler is current being used on Sapper! :D Indeed! Didn't know there were so many! :D Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks ever so much Luke! Though very much the same :) The livery is a bit like Marmite, you either love it or hate it. I think you know what I think of it ;)
Certainly stands out Callum, Nice addition to your collection.
She sure does indeed! Really is a lovely model indeed! :)
Loving that little engine, I can just imagine it with a good heavy rake of coal wagons behind it.
She sure is a stunner indeed! Oh yes, will have to do a little running session, when I get the time for it ;) Glad you enjoyed!
Great review :) really is a stunning loco with a very different and very striking livery :) looks like a great loco as well :) thanks for sharing :)
Thanks ever so much mate! She sure is indeed! The livery is just stunning! Glad you enjoyed :)
There's beauty in simplicity :) Great to see the review of this superb machine....Looking much less austere with the yellow paint job :)) Thanks for producing and sharing this. Keep up the great work, mate :))

Great review and a stunning model. This would stand out on anyone's layout. Rob
Thanks ever so much Rob! She sure will indeed! Think Sun Glasses should be included ;)
;-D
What an interesting Austerity! That yellow is very bright on it as well!
She sure is indeed! Really do love the livery. Certainly something very different. :)
That is a great model! Great vid mate! :)
Really is indeed! :) Glad you enjoyed
another great review, might be getting one of these austerities but haven't decided which one yet!
Thanks ever so much mate! Glad you enjoyed! Highly recommend, they really are superb little models
I remember the yellow one at Cadley Hill colliery, search Coalville open day for another J94 arriving for the weekend from the same pit.
Nice. Will check it out :) Must say, I think the Yellow Livery suits her quite well
Detail and colour is amazing. How do you rate it within your own comprehensive fleet? Laurie.
It really is a stunner! The camera does not quite pick up the true colour of it, really is lovely and rich. Must say it really is up there with some of the recent releases. I really do look forward to seeing more models from them in the future :)

She sure would indeed! Will have to get her on it at some point ;) It sure is. Love it! :D Glad you enjoyed!
great review. i got the BR black one yesterday. that loco is going to stand out on your layout. cant think why haha :)
Thanks ever so much Matt! They really are stunning little models. She sure does indeed! Me too ;) Glad you enjoyed

She really is indeed and yes, you really do ;) Oh yes, I'm looking very much to seeing those too :) Glad you enjoyed

Very colourful, but that chimney ! Great review Callum
Stewart
She sure is! Must say I think it suits her very well indeed :) Glad you enjoyed!
Another brilliant review! Sure looks a stunner, I bet that livery didn't stay that clean for very long! Oh well I suppose they looked good ex-works!
Thanks ever so much Phil! She sure is indeed ;) Oh yes, from what I seen she was nearly Black! Hopefully the real thing will steam again one day
Brilliant model many thanks
No worries Alan! She sure is a stunner indeed! Glad you enjoyed

Sun Glasses are need for this one ;) I love it! :D It really is a superb little model indeed!
That model is GORGEOUS!
I'd like to get one in a dark blue livery, maybe black though.
She sure is indeed! There are some other great liveries available, must say Austeritys do look smart in Blue
Yep, and midland crimson doesn't look bad either!
sunglasses at the ready here comes the yellow peril haha. a nice long coal train video coming soon. I was lucky enough to drive this ones sister no.66 at the buck railway centre earlier in the year lovely locos real and models forms.

+SDJR7F88 that one yeh!!! :D
Do you ever lend people locomotives as long as the person returns it?
Cheers,
Adam :-)
Only certain engines and to people who I know ;)
When you say certain locomotives, can you name which locomotive classes these are (Steam And Diesel)?
Cheers,
Adam :-)
It's only a select few, mostly second hand ones I got
Yes, but what classes are they?
an 04 shunter and 2P, Collett Goods and thats about it
Still waiting on the Bchmn 7 plnk wgn BR livery!
I know ;) A bit short on time at the moment, got a back log of locos and sets to review at the moment, as mentioned it maybe a while yet. Will try and get around to it as and when I can
SDJR7F88 aanks!
I am ever so sorry about it mate, but will try my best. Takes a fair bit of time to film these little review. This one took over 7 hours to create (research, filming and editing)! :D
SDJR7F88 No worry's!
I just got one of the limited edition ones from hattons such a good model
They really are indeed! Must say there are some great liveries available. What one have you got?
I got the NCB green "Mountain Ash" with heavy weathering
Very nice :)
I've gone blind!!! What a fantastic model though and a great first mainstream model from DJM. Bring on the 14xx I say!
It does have that effect ;) Dave really has done a cracking job indeed! Really is a stunner! Oh yes, will certainly be interesting to see that when they arrive. If they are anything like this, they will be superb!

Good lord! Here comes the sun! Nonetheless, fantastic. Would love to see this in orange.
Yep, Sun Glasses needed ;) I'm sure there were Orange ones around ;)
if this new austerity can beat the slow speed performance of the old dapol one, this is truly the ultimate austerity
It really is indeed! DJModels really have done a superb job indeed!
IT stands out
I think that might be an understatement ;)
A very nicely detailed model and at a reasonable price to. But I'm not a massive fan of the yellow livery.
Thanks ever so much Luke! Though very much the same :) The livery is a bit like Marmite, you either love it or hate it. I think you know what I think of it ;)
yeh. are you going to get it weathered because it would look very good in front of a filthy coal train. cheers : )
I would like too, but she's only limited to 200 models, so think it would be a crime to do so ;)
yeh that is true. you could always fir a loco crew and lamps. :)
It's a banana!
Not far off it at all ;) Especially when I get around to connecting up to some of the yellow rolling stock I've got ;)
