Filipino is actually the standardized variety of Tagalog. Tagalog is one of the many languages spoken in the country. It has different dialects like Tagalog spoken in Metro Manila and provinces such as Bulacan, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Marinduque.
For me it sounded a lot like Guarani phonetically, which is kinda weird, because Guarani is native from South America, but I think it's something about the nasallity plus the Spanish loanwords.

Okay, okay, okay. Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, and Austria in the same video, have Shannon try to tell them apart blindfolded, and then somebody buy her a beer or the cocktail of her choice if she gets any of them right. I know I'm kind of mean, but it's too much fun watching her get close to but not quite right.
For the Dutch, I would have been thinking German even though I would know it wasn't based on a few words. For Belgian, it sounded like french and german. Belgian would not have been on my radar. I would gotten portuguese and spanish and the tagalog. Tagalog is a little easy to guess for me because of it mixing in spanish and english words.
For me, what really gave away that it was Dutch rather than German was the word "jar" (I don't know if I spelled it right), and also the way she pronounced the words sounded closer to English, while German usually has a very distinct pronunciation.
It was crazy she didn't realize the dutch and belgian spoke the same language. I find dutch and german sounding totally disticnt from each other, so I was really baffled she guessed german for both.
Well, she has never been to Europe; her interest is clearly in Asia. Sometimes Europeans don't understand that the world doesn't revolve around them. 😉
Its becouse belgium is half dutch and french. You have more soft and french sounding dutch there. As a dutch person, when we have dutch closer too the border it’s way more soft and less gutterall sounding. The lower half that is. The first dutch girl is very softspoken even for a dutch person. She is not a perfect example for the dutch accent. The Belgium person did do the accent that I’m used to from Belgium.
The Spanish accent from the Spaniard girl really threw me off! I swear I thought she was from Argentinian or Uruguay. It’s not the typical Spanish accent I’ve heard.
She tried to do a Rioplatense accent in the beginning to mess with Shannon. They know each other and she tried to make it a little bit harder. But when she was counting, she used the Spanish "th" sound and told on herself.
I would like to see a video which compare with the differences between Portugal portuguese🇵🇹 and Brazil portuguese🇧🇷 ❤
