Woody was so vulnerable in this movie especially when he had a nightmare about Andy not wanting to play with him due to his ripped arm. plus when Buzz used the line "You are... A TOY!!" on Woody, it was excellent since Woody said it to Buzz in the first movie
I mean they’re toys lol it’s multiple productions. Jesse might have been Andy’s mom era. That specific Jesse toy might not have been owned by Andy’s mom.
@@kendallbrown2904Sure, but it's not impossible to think that the hat itself was a popular one since it's based on the same show. It's not inconceivable to think they could have gone looking for Woody's hat and they were sold out, but Jessie's hat wasn't so that's what they bought for Andy.
when Buz 2.0 (he's the Buzz with the Cool Belt) and Zurg reenacted the scene from Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back I still laugh my guts out to this day! 🤣
Out of the Toy Story movies, this is my favourite! When She Loved Me is so crushing! Randy Newman was originally going to sing the song as he wrote it. But then they decided to make it a ballad and had Sarah McLaughin sing it. When she recorded it, everyone bawled! The most interesting fact is this movie almost get released! It originally supposed to be straight to video. But with the success of the first movie, they changed their mind. And then the studio LOST the entire movie! Then they learned one of the women who worked on it had just gone on mat leave and took her work computer home! It had like 75% of the footage on it. So Pixar sent like an armed guard to her house to retrieve it!
The sub message of this movie was how black and white westerns dominated the 60s but then the Apollo mission in 69 started a space craze in the 70s, see Alien and Star Wars.
The sequel to the first ever CGI animated film and it was amazing. It did exactly what a sequel should do, where it introduced us to new likable characters, while also giving us a bigger story by raising the stakes. Jessie’s backstory always make me tear up and it began to show how powerful Pixar can be when it comes to making the audience very emotional to where it breaks them to tears.
Story time. I took my little brother to see this opening weekend. Theatre is filled with parents taking their children; a full house. We're seated towards the back. The movie starts up, everyone is laughing at the jokes and having a good time. The film gets to THAT part. Deathly silence fills the auditorium. I swear, you could have heard a pin drop. The song ends and I have tears streaming down my face. I look over across the crowd, every single adult was either crying, holding back tears, or seemed like someone slapped their face. The collective emotion experienced by that crowd...if I hadn't been there, I wouldn't have believed it myself.
This was a fun reaction. Damn Toy Story 1 and 2, incredibles and monster inc is such a huge part of my childhood. Couldnt tell u how many times i watched these. Hella nostalgic
There is an extra blooper they ended up taking out of Re-releases due to how real it was after a while. It was Stinky Pete hitting on two of the barbies and promising them a "guaranteed part" in the next movie after a "private interview." It's one of the most wild bits I've ever seen 😂
@BobCrabtree-ev4rz you can find it on TH-cam easily and while the bit in itself isn't that bad the implications are what makes it a hard hitting reality
@@iReiGNxx I've been hearing jokes like that since as long as I can remember. And even decades old comedians would joke about it and subtly call it out
32:47 Actually, kinda accurate! It's a _little_ exaggerated, and none of the bags would be standing up on the belt, and not one of them appears to be tagged for a flight, and it's a LOT dirtier, but yeah, it's like that in some places. Miles and miles of belts. (Source: I work in SFO's international bagroom.)
Fun fact: Barbie was supposed to be in the original movie but Mattel didn’t think that the movie would be a hit so they didn’t let Barbie be in it. But of course it was a mega hit, so they let her be in the sequel
So, I recommend watching the Pixar shorts. They are a couple minute long short stories, typically unspoken, that are all animated. They used to show them before the movie in theaters and then would be sometimes included on the DVD as a bonus feature. A few years ago Disney released all of them on a Blu-Ray set. Basically almost all of the commercials that were on the TV were those shorts and the cleaner character also appeared there. His short was featured in A Bugs' Life.
In Toy Story 4, Woody realise how lucky he was and many toys who aren't, he gave his voice box to other toy He never gave up & didn't leave Toys behind, he was saviour and always protect children's smile
I thought someone else might of mentioned it but I don't see it, but I remember reading this movie was accidently deleted before it was released and one of the people working on it had a copy of it that saved the whole project.
My personal opinion: "When She Loved Me" is one of those bittersweet songs that gives you a great backstory and makes you cry at the same time. (Really doesn't help that it's Sarah McLachlan singing. The same woman who did the jingle for the ASPCA)
The voice of Stinky Pete had one of the most popular shows on television, which has had a revival attempt recently. Kelsey Grammar is best-known for playing the title role in the sitcom "Frasier". He originated the Dr. Frasier Crane role on "Cheers" just before that.
Its crazy to see how much the art and animation quality increased from the first movie to the second in just a few years. When the third movie came out animators had access to computer tech and programs way more advanced than when Toy Story 2 came out and yet this one still holds up so well. Yeah Jesse-Emily backstory and sad song is super iconic. This was the film that made me think about the toys I used to play with and what the heck happened to them. I phased out of toys also when I was 10 for videogames and sports but I still fondly remember Legos and Transformers. As many have said, Toy Story 3 is also great and the fourth is okay with some mixed reception for how some characters' stories ended.
34:00 Indeed Reminds me of Fast & Furious 6 Finale. Lol Hobbs trying to get onto the plane Similar shot of them nearing the plane wheel and woody and buzz nearing the wheel of the baggage transport
Both of you probably didn't realize that toy story have a lot of movies references. If you pay attention closely, you will get it. The obvious on in this toy story is the jurassic park and the star wars "I am your father" quotes. Every toy story have movies references.....
"This is such a beautiful song.” Yeah, That’s Sarah McLachlan singing “When She Loved Me,” which she wrote for Toy Story 2. She is known nationally, for doing the song "Angel” which plays in those animal adoption ads. (She actually wrote it for a friend of hers, that died of drug addiction) Her albums, Touch, Solace, *Fumbling Towards Ecstasy,* *Surfacing,* and *Afterglow* are her best works. Definitely recommended. One of the most beautiful female voices, and a gifted, songwriting genius. Her Mirrorball concert is 🔥 One of the best live shows i’ve ever seen.
So fun fact- these movies obviously take years to create. Months before the release date, animators were working up until the last minute to get this film made. During production, one employee hit the wrong button and deleted almost the entire movie. They were going to have to delay the film until one producer remembered she had a backup copy of the film's progress saved at home. She brought her home computer into work very carefully (wrapped up in blankets/towels) and managed to restore most of the lost data.
It feels weird for you guys to have just seen Toy Story, because that came out the same year I was born. Watching Toy Story 1 and 2 are some of my earliest, formative memories. I really like this one, and I think it passed the bar as a worthy sequel. Toy Story 3 came out right as I was going into college, which also hit very hard for me and I hope you'll enjoy that one too!
4:08 uh the pig there reminded me of Animal Farm (1954) - cartoon movie Still remember it clearly, even if it's been 35 years since I watched it as a kid
There’s several Star Wars references in this one from Buzz’s breathing sounding like Darth Vader’s breathing apparatus to the battery hologram sounding like a lightsaber to Buzz’s laser sounding like a blaster and of course Zurg pulling a Darth Vader. I hope you guys eventually consider reacting to The Mandalorian. There’s a movie coming up that’s tied to the events of the show. I think you would enjoy what it has to offer.
That was awesome !!!! Can’t wait until Toy Story 5 !!! But for the Scary Movie franchise after the 1st and 2nd movie. The Company stole the rights and ideas from the Wayne’s brothers. They could have sued them but didn’t. There’s a whole yt video on in 😭
The best part of being an adult with money is buying the things you never had or could afford as a kid. Don't just imagine what it could be like, see for yourself!
I also had the power rangers figures when i was a kid and I also had Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlett figures aswell and both tv series were puppets where you can see the strings aswell
Woody was so vulnerable in this movie especially when he had a nightmare about Andy not wanting to play with him due to his ripped arm. plus when Buzz used the line "You are... A TOY!!" on Woody, it was excellent since Woody said it to Buzz in the first movie
Yep and the line "For what Woody, to remain behind glass never to be loved again"
There is a theory that Andy's mom was Jessie's original owner. That's why Andy has the same red hat that Emily wears in the flashbacks.
That's awesome, thanks for sharing!!
This is the comment I was looking for. If I hadn’t found this one I would’ve said it. Idk if the theory was ever confirmed but I love the idea of it
I mean they’re toys lol it’s multiple productions. Jesse might have been Andy’s mom era. That specific Jesse toy might not have been owned by Andy’s mom.
@ it’s the fact that andy and the little girl that played with Jesse have the same hat that they wear when playing with their toys.
@@kendallbrown2904Sure, but it's not impossible to think that the hat itself was a popular one since it's based on the same show. It's not inconceivable to think they could have gone looking for Woody's hat and they were sold out, but Jessie's hat wasn't so that's what they bought for Andy.

Barbi was voiced by the amazing Jodi Benson, who was the voice of the Little Mermaid.
They missed her scene at the end of the credits "Are they gone? Oh, my cheeks are so tired!"
The sub message of this movie was how black and white westerns dominated the 60s but then the Apollo mission in 69 started a space craze in the 70s, see Alien and Star Wars.

Think of the deeper meaning behind that. For them to delete that and not speak about it makes it scary.
