Definitely now is the time we need to look after people in our own country first. Not saying don't help others but for once the priority needs to be here
As often as Shrewsbury floods I Hope questions are being raised as to what the local government have done in terms of flood defences. Not as if they haven’t had years and years to address this problem
I stood on the welsh bridge you can feel the power of the water moving though your feet. Gov need to do something it like we gone back 20 year before the barriers were put in.
Flood defences simply channel the problem elsewhere. The Elan Valley dams were built to help reduce the flooding on the Severn goodness knows where Shrewsbury would be without them, probably in Bewdley by now . As for building on flood plains, anyone who knowingly buys on a flood plain deserves all they get. As long as the idiots buy them people will build them. Everyone wants to live riverside, I hope they realise they probably won’t get house insurance, It looks like the Shrewsbury “village idiot” finally got a job in the planning department
@@sarahbishop7084 - Hi Sam, Thank you for the comment and sorry to hear you did not find the ducks funny in a time of sadness. Maybe someone having a much harder time may see it and laugh think compared to others around the world it aint so bad, and will get through it. Is the Shrewsbury flood bad ? YES as Hebden bridge, Otley and all other uk floods, then theres the floods, fires, land slides, locust swarms around the world & the tornado in nashville etc. Yet in all the sadness and some loss of lifes folk can see the funny side or positive that will come out of it. There is many on video showing this, guy in Hebden bridge lost everything downstairs kids toys etc, but laughs he got a garden pool and needs a pool cleaning service. A lady in nashville crying for loss of her home and how a new home extention was to start, but then smiles saying at least i can build whole new house now. The ozzie farmer had years of drought but now lush fresh grass, so his sheep & cattle be better fed and better price later at market. Kids boating / swimming in roads & fields making the most out it. some folk will do nowt but moan and not help others, others will sort thier own problem out and still go help others. I was helping drop 2 portacabins at a location so local OAP centre and nursey could continue, seeing parents happy the can go to work or help out others, two ole dears happy they wont be stuck at home. I was due to do another UN Red cross run when Ciara & Dennis hit so have been helping yorkshire cumbria where i can, did i do right ? was the food & medical supplies i was suppose to take late to the refugee camp? who knows but now it`s quietier here i can head back out there Tuesday. I hope Sam you were lucky or not too badly flooded, if not i hope you gave help to others and others gave help to you if needed. Many things can be done like removing the damaged furniture, cleaning out the sludge or if you cant do that, the greastest simple thing offering these helping out a nice hot cuppa can make the day :) I hope your safe and sound and if effected that your sorted out & back to normal asap. Just maybe in the gloom the ducks fun may give you and others alike, that little laugh to think - we can do this and be better for it in the end, Take care cheers ken.
My heart goes out to all the poor folk who have been affected by these floods...
Unbelievable. So sorry for the people and businesses that have been flooded . Mother Nature sure packs a punch when she want to
And we give billions to other countries for flood relief. Charity begins at home I say, it’s time we looked after our own.🇬🇧
so true,
Mick you are so right

Maybe if people stopped voting Tory might be a better way to go.
