That cat is loving that puppy pile just like anyone would. Completely happy and gentle the whole time. I love how the mom checks in, then leaves them to it.

I took in from a shelter an abused and neglected mma kitty that was pregnant. The very day the shelter people went to rescue her, she was so scared and fearful, she went in to labor. Before they brought her to me the next day, she'd had 8 babies! They figured she was only 16 months old herself, a kitten having kittens. I loved them so much, I would not part from any of them so I kept them all. That was in 2000. All have slowly passed away with me but ONE REMAINS, my Magic Merlin. He'live

I love Jack russells they can be real jerks at time lol. My little girl had four brother and sister German shepherds to play with. She thought she was just as tough as they were. She really loved my oldest shepherd and followed him around. Every time he would go to the bathroom he would lift his leg He's a boy of course. Ask there about a month of her being here she started doing the exact same thing. The absolutely cutest thing you have ever seen. When they would all start chasing each other she would come running into the bedroom diving onto the bed watch her brothers and sisters look under the bed for her and as they would run out she would dive off the bed onto the back of them and ride on them until the end of the hallway. It was just heaven on Earth around here. Since she only weighed 16 lb and the smallest German Shepherd I had was 70 lb I had to give her an edge. I bought her a pink spiky collar so when her big brothers and sisters would grab her by her neck there was no chance of them accidentally hurting her.. a lot of people thought I did that to make her look tough and I explained why and they understood. As much as I love German shepherds been rescuing them for 20 years I would say if you were to have only one breed of dog in your life a Jack Russell is it. They love to cuddle with you they sleep on top of you or under the covers right next to you and sometimes across the back of your pillow. They are a very loving breed and they really are not as hyper as some people say. I'm sure there are some that super hyper but that's with every breed.
It's truly amazing that the cat allowed the puppies to crawl all over it like that, though I'm guessing if animals could talk, the conversation between the puppies' mother and the cat would have gone like this: "Are you all right? Are they bothering you?" "No, no, I'm fine. I'm just glad I don't have to feed them."

From what I've seen, puppies are usually rough with each other when at play and (in some cases) establishing dominance (which of the puppies is the alpha).
I think her response looks rougher than it is. She is not spitting and does not appear to be either biting hard or using her claws. I think she is more giving them warning swats.
I love the way mummy keeps checking, not sure if it's the puppies safety or the poor cats she concerned with. Typical Jack's though, they think EVERYTHING & EVERYONE is there for their entertainment alone 🤣🤣

Some of you do not know much about cats. There is no sign at all this cat is angry or unhappy. With one swat of an extended claw she could send these puppies screaming to their mother. No, she is enjoying the play. If she were not, she would swat them, hiss and leave.
Your wrong. One swat of that paw the full fight is on--Jack's just don't care, like most terriers. I had one "tear in" to a puppy that was a Siberian Husky--grabbed it by the tongue and would let go. They just don't care and in general don't even get along with their own kind. The cat could kill one, but it could never--scare one. Piss it off, yep.

For those who may not know, bite inhibition means teaching them that biting hurts, by biting them back why they bite someone. Not hard, just a lesson. That cat loves those babies and is bathing them and letting them crawl all over her/him. Precious.
I have had cats all my life. This cat was not angry or threatened. If so, he would not have been laying on its side in a vulnerable position. I am amazed how calm the cat was. Even if mine late cat had started out playing, she would have gotten spooked, smacked them up and ran.

If you noticed until the end the puppies only growled at each other, they were submissive to the cat, which is good. At the end the puppy got a little dominant. The cat should have put it in its place. So cute. Sweet puppies.
