  • This is the second episode in/of the series called ''recycling an organ''.
Hi people, this is a new series about how I'm recycling different parts of an old organ I bought! Please let me know what you think about my ideas! Episode 2 is filmed and ready to edit, so keep your eyes peeled.

Dude...inspired by your bad self I just won an ebay auction for a Hammond 9822KM Super Dolphin. Ten quid! Spotless condition, it looks brand new. Almost seems a shame to gut it...almost!
It has the pedals which are what I wanted mostly, but there's also a spring reverb and..the best bit...a proper Leslie branded Leslie. I think I can make a janky 808 from the drum machine. Hopefully i can make a smaller organ, maybe a drone machine too. If not I'll give the leftovers to a repair guy.
Now I have to get it from Milton Keynes to Kirklees in a lockdown when we're not allowed to travel...
Yours looks great, nice job. Cheers for the idea.

That sounds really cool! Good luck! Check out Opendeck if you want a plug and play midi solution that doesn't involve coding etc.

For anyone who is looking to do this, check Opendeck out!!! No messing about with the makey makey or macro software, and also no coding needed at all!!!!!! I replaced the cumbersome system that I used in the video with a small arduino 2560 and din outs now... This is a great product, which is FREE if you use your own Arduino board, which you can flash with their firmware..... Or you can buy their board with a huge number of in and out pins, which is great for prototyping or huge controllers concepts. This is their site: shanteacontrols.com/ Here is my video about it th-cam.com/video/agoPNTTf14w/w-d-xo.html

I had to take my hammond apart and back together again but i didn’t really think the bass pedals were necessary to put back in so I just have then lying around

Go for it man!! Just buy an opendeck board, or flash a compatible board with the firmware for free! Ignore the whole controllermate part of this video.

nice hacking! Sure it's totally possible to use the original switches - they are set up as a switch matrix and the hook-up is a little advanced but still it's totally learnable because look at the homebrew keyboard community! Pretty much all PC keyboards use switch matrixes. Saw you upgraded to Opendeck - so that's cool.
