  • Second-generation small electric SUV arrives with plenty of advances but one big step backwards 👉 Full Review: www.carsales.com.au/editorial...
    We named the second-generation Hyundai Kona our Best Small SUV of 2023 and since then it’s been joined by the Hybrid version and now the battery-only 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric.
    The new Kona EV brings two high-tech new electric powertrains for a lower entry price, in addition to the all-new small SUV’s advances in size and technology, but it’s also less powerful and therefore slower than before.

    The V2L powerpoint is 16Amps. I have used it to charge another EV using a granny charger and it did the job. It's not limited to a small fridge.

    TOBY'S back 🌟where you been brother? looking good can't say the same about the car and dynamics 70k for this. The styling queues for Evs are awefull as for that interior.. polarising.

    What did you find was the real driving range? Compared to the advertised range?

    They've made it less yobbo/hoon and more down the middle I suppose you could say particularly with reduction in Torque but means less wheel spin off the line as well. I enjoyed my test drive of a premium the other day and felt it had very good power.

    Driving dynamics are pretty ordinary in this car. 4 star safety is negligent and appalling. No frunk shows poor EV design that doesn’t match the standards of modern EV’s. Large and fancy alloy wheels reduce ride quality and range. It isn’t a great buy.

    The $54k base price is $3k dearer than the larger, faster Atto 3. The Atto 3 has an opening sunroof and sunshade, 12" rotatable centrescreen, brighter interior bigger wheels and longer WLTP.
    The bigger battery option in Kona then makes its WLTP better than the BYD but still no sunroof and you are $7k behind.
    No wonder they hardly sell compared to BYD Atto3.
    4☆ ANCAP is an embarrassment on a brand new 2024 model. Sorry Hyundai you lose.

    • @carsales
      @carsales  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Atto 3 is an impressive vehicle for sure. Some people just prefer a known brand. BYD is still unknown to a lot of Aussie buyers and their dealer network is novel, which can put some people off as well.
