Green champion changes are HUGE for me as a crafter. No longer will I have to keep remembering to slot meticulous disassembly every time I want to refine or deconstruct something. I am also really looking forward to the add ons for console since I'm on ps5 and I know there are some nifty add ons that would be very useful for my crafting life. Cyrodill is a kind of I will see when it comes out since I cannot make judgements yet until I try it. I'm just glad they are at least trying something to fix the performance. I have died to lag and dcs so many times there that I usually hope I only encounter like 8 other players at most (its never just 8). Even if this test fails I hope they continue to try to figure out something to make Cyrodill fun to play in and not a "Hope I don't lag out right now....NOOOOOOO" zone. The visual updates that they have planned look like how I usually look for graphics mods for Skyrim. Make the area more immersive and bring up the atheistic to be on par with the current gen level. So hopefully we will see more improvements across the main base zones. :)
Agreed! Though in my personal opinion, special treatment for zone hub cities (e.g. Daggerfall, Riften, Mournhold, etc.) would be eagerly invited on my part. So using Deshaan as an example, texture improvements to vanilla architecture used in Serkamora, Narsis, & Selfora is practical and sufficient. However, giving Mournhold a unique architecture set and handcrafted design akin to Necrom's would be GOATed! It's probably a bigger ask than ZOS will be willing to provide, but I think it would add a lot of value!
I remember this was a big pet peeve of mine. I understand slotted skills for combat-related bonuses, but it made no sense to make us choose between convenience perks. Too little too late for me, but it’s nice they eventually got around to fixing it. Only took them FOUR YEARS 😂
1:58 Loving the quick and dry laugh 😂 Looking forward to the mount speed and Green CP improvement and the Dungeons. Not a huge PVPer or Console user, but I'm glad those folks are getting something too, especially Cyrodiil!
I'd say I'm cautiously optimistic. I like most aspects of ESO, and have found the new bgs more interesting in general. I will absolutely take part in the cyrodiil test. The Green CP improvement was surprising and could be huge.
I haven't played since U35, quick questions, are tank/support roles fun to play again, or are they still taking tank skills and reworking them for DPS? (Like when they changed powerslam to simply reduce stamina cost because gathering stacks from blocking wasn't something DPS would do at all - instead of making it a tank skill that could scale with armor/health). And can we finally put helms on companions, or are we still the generic sidekicks (that wear helmets) to the companion main characters who always show their faces?
@@provisionalhypothesis The point is for both to wear helmets, the "reason" they don't allow helms on companions is because they want them to feel like unique people (which is ironic when you see the same companions every single place you go)
@@alexpvpeso I really enjoy the larger teams. I would, I think, still prefer the 3x3 team format, but with 8 per side, but failing that, I like the eight per side battlegrounds a lot.
Sometimes I miss playing ESO (Quit around U35) Its a shame to see how disconnected the devs are. I do still enjoy watching ESO videos from time to time just to remember the good times lol
I'm really surprised they don't do holiday themed events in cyro/make the anchors more of a threat to take care of. At this point Molag is just a yapping cliche npc that isn't taken as seriously as he's suppose to be. Me and a friend were talking about how having random event (STRONG) daedric armies attack other keeps at random (sorta like volunrung spawn can change tides of war) to spice things up. Actually make it feel like daedric threat/reason to fight the war. Then with the anchors, make it be like if they arent handled in time it spawns more of those armies into cyrodil/maybe a giant world boss in overland. Also having turkey/flaming pumpkin catapults in cyro sounds sorta FUN like cyro should be.
As someone who has been playing the game for several years now, I do find the usual seasonal events to be a little bit boring, just because I've done them so many times and new changes to the structure of those events are seldom made. Incorporating some kind of special event in PVP zones during the holidays would be an awesome way to spice things up a bit!
@@provisionalhypothesis I loved that event too, the Fallen Leaves of West Weald might have been my favorite event so far. It matching up with the season only made it more cozy. Say what you will about West Weald's story, the zone itself I thought is very pretty. And the little details/touches of life they have on all the maps are only improving. That's one of the areas of ESO that has always impressed me, a lot of other MMOs zones feel like theme parks. Pretty, but there's not much life to them
huge houses are nice, but can we get some small racial themed cottages again? it would be lovely to have a small beton cottage on high isle or an argonian reed hut on the coast of murkmire.
Love the summary, thank you. I'm pretty pumped for seeing what they come up with. I've been enjoying the 8v8 chaosball this weekend. Had a lot of fun. Keep the ESO videos coming ✊
I think it's actually a hidden but BIG thing. The vanilla game is wonderful, but it's outdated and in certain zones it feels REAAAAAALLY ugly and bad or even boringly designed, colored, textured, etc. Or in some case, the 3d model/meshes are genuinely shoddy looking cause maybe it was rushed or just not as much love was put into it compared to other areas. ZOS improving these vanilla areas gives us the opportunity to love those areas again in a new way especially since we may be getting new questlines/quests in different older zones in the future. I started ESO in Jan/Feb of 2020 and I could tell after just a little while that WOW, the old zones are very obviously disjointed from Morrowind and onwards. Even Wrothgar which I know is so beloved looks REALLY outdated compared to Summerset for example. ZOS doing this finally gives the game a chance to be totally unified in art style, quality, and will add more replayability to older zones not just because of the new quests that may come but also because god dang...sometimes I want to leave those older zones because they just aren't as polished or as impressive as newer zones. Not sure how far they're going to take this...but I hope that Reaper's March for example, when it gets upgraded, gets some TRUE love. That zone feels so much like an after though compared to the beauty of say Malabal Tor or Grahtwood. The Khajiit areas feel so...gross and red clay in a bad way...if they can make that area as quality as Northern Elsweyr and make the Bosmer areas as pretty as say Galen and Vashabar then suddenly the game feels way more exciting and together. So I agree. The base game areas are one of my most anticipated upgrades!!! I figured this would be necessary back when I started in 2020 and knew it was only a matter of time/knew it was possible but with those Chapter releases every year, I knew it was going to be tricky. If ESO can make the WHOLE world of Tamriel that we have access to playable beyond just the zone questlines and make them fun to return to all the while introducing new questlines or whatever else the "refurbish", shall we say, the world, then I think only good things could come from it.
I'm super hyped for this. The zones have always been standout in ESO to me. They're so detailed and have so many little random camps/bodies/stories that tell themselves. It's one area of the game they've only improved and I think it deserves more praise. Someone is working very hard on making the game feel lived in, and alive. So many MMOs have Themepark Syndrome, this game never has for me.
Great recap, awesome edits, and congrats on the growth. Seems with everyone else stepping back your channel will undoubtedly become one of the top, if not the top, ESO channels.
Watching streams that only show up at specific times with a shitload of filler? I sleep. Arttea posts a concise summary that perfectly explains the whole thing? Real shit. I think the plans for Cyrodiil are the first thing I've been cautiously optimistic about with this game for a long while.
Good video ! I def miss playing this game and this update has been much needed. You deserve more views. Keep up the good work. You are literally like the only ESO TH-camr I watch now and def worth the watch. ✌🏻
Nice video! Appreciate the concise info/timestamps. I found your website looking for treasure chest routes, and it lead me here. Glad you're still posting ESO content, dig the style of the site and the video
I'm super stoked about the vengeance campaign. It'll feel like 2017 cyrodiil all over again, arguably the best state of pvp in the history of the game.
Love the champion points update, i wish they would also remove the color restriction for slottables. Would be nice to fill the whole bar with only damage/mitigation points!
Everyone talking about those crafting skills in the green tree, but look at those thieving skills that will not have to be slotted now! I missed that in the live stream. Good deal. This is a QOL that I like. Something that is actually helpful, and also something that I never really thought about. Nice surprise all around. Also, as far as the PvP testing I am all for it. Be prepared for the top tier streamer PvP players to be horrendously mortified and shaking their fists in impotent rage while the average skilled folks who just like bopping around in PvP have a super great time. All in all though, if I hit a button and nothing happens, or still happens 1 1/2 seconds after it was supposed to occur, all the testing still won't matter.
Anything pvp in eso has been trash for at least 4 years. I was there at the begining of ball groups.. ruined everything. 3 button badasses, lol. Eso needs a new game, not just new devs
@@provisionalhypothesisit unironically does , its been losing players for years and they aren't doing a whole lot to bring in new ones so yeah you ain't wrong.
@@techt-125i remember year 1 people trying to get ball groups running so yeah since the start lol granted I agree ball groups are wayyyyy worse now than ever before
I Didnt catch the stream but love the recap as always! Im actually excited about the cyro test. Not about simplified skills, but that they are doing it on the live server. Seems like they are taking it seriously. Love thst they are bringing story and love back to base story of 3 banners war. Looks good so far, thanks Artea!
The entire green tree aside for some movement speed ones honestly should have been passives. 90% of them really don't affect anything major or give any real competitive advantage in a combat scenario. As for the Cyrodiil, this is just a test to see some data to try to narrow down the performance issues. I do wonder if they are also going to limit item set's as well. Otherwise there will be quite a power creep from certain specific sets and even some mythics.
honestly i do hope Vengeance makes it thru as a mode at at least, I would be far more interested in PVP if it was just a level playing field. Tho ideally i want that in a 3 to 5 minute BGs with 3 teams setting more than cyrodiil where you just need a high population.
aight so how many tests they gonna do? they been doin this for periodically for years saying the same bs. circa 2014 early 2015 pre IC (there is a lot of footage on yt) you could have massive scale keep fights etc that were completely smooth. we are talking hundreds of players, peak hour eso pvp with siege etc approx 500v500v500. This was pre lighting patch (1.5). I am not sure why no one talks about this. The potential was always there, its the inability of their technical team to deliver it. the servers could, at one point, handle it easily, but spaghetti code after post late 2015-2016 around Shadows of the Hist disabled it. The fact that it is only now basically a decade after a lot of players have suggested separating PvP from PvE similar to GW2 and they are only acting on it now is baffling. I suspect it is because their servers were flawed, and tackling the pvp issue was the elephant in the room that required a lot of fund allocation, time and technical expertise that they cbf with.
Agreed. If it were fixable, we wouldn't _STILL_ be having this conversation a literal decade post-release. ZoS has their game rigged with pure hype, hope, and cope. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Thank you for the video, I love this game. I quit playing about 3 months ago after 10 years because of how unplayable Cyrodiil has become. It's not just performance. It's the way that it is being played as well. Zone chat is used for ego wars online instead of talking about any kind of strategy. Also, you have someone log as an alt and bog down their chat in clever ways so relevant information gets missed. "They are jamming our communications." without most even realizing it. lol. On PS5 the first place Alliance will have their guild people log as their Alt Characters on their closest rival in order and have them push the 3rd place Alliance and pull as many people away from fighting them for extra insurance. That way they can keep 2nd and 3rd Alliances fighting each other and when enough people have been pulled in the wrong direction they have their full server to gate or emp. If that isn't enough you have very good comp ball groups running around that can't be killed because they find someone to blow up and kill you or your Allies first because there is nobody weak near them that can be blown up to kill them. The game has become, you need to kill this weak player to kill that good player or players. Worst of all, logging on to an alt with no armor so you can get everyone bombed on purpose. I am hopeful for some real results this year.
I'd really love some Housing upgrades...House Tours is great and I think was necessary for a game like ESO where housing is so social and there are so many tournaments and so on. BUT! I think it's high time we get furnishings that serve as waypoints. So we can run up to the portal, interact with the furnishing (maybe it's like a cool Stargate or something more subtle even) and you can then waypoint out of your home. Something like that. Also...we have ladders and ropes to climb up in various areas of the game...we should have something like that for Housing too. It would allow for more verticality more easily. If you're building a tower for example, having a ladder to go up to a nook here or there would add some really fun and functional designs. While they're improving cyro performance...maybe they can figure out what to do about housing furnishing slots? Maybe they can make a system wherein, for PC, if you're about to enter a home with more slots in use than are recommended for performance, it could give you a "are you sure you want to enter this home, xyz thing could happen including slow fps, game crash, etc". That way, those of us with beastly computers can create the damn paradisical home of our dreams. OR, maybe they could create some sort of Housing template. Wherein you could save your home as one asset somehow...where you save the structure of the home as one big asset instead of individual furnishings. So let's say I put down 100 limestone wall pieces or something from Summerset and then I can lock/link them together, save, and then then they are merged into ONE asset in game once you load back into the house. Maybe the game engine doesn't actually work that way IDK that much about coding but I know it can work in certain 3D environments/games I've played before. And finally, while we're gettin' all creative and stuff. One thing that I LOVED back in my GW2 days year ago was when they had a community art contest and then the weapon designs that won were made into weapons for the community to earn thru in game "quests" I guess you could call them. That would be SUPER COOL for them to do especially now that we have Golden Pursuits. I think it fits well with the theme and sort of rewards for that content as well. But of course, the requirements would probably have to be that they are lore friendly...maybe it can be fantastical to some extent but not like "hey your staff is literally a rainbow that will blind friend and foe alike" haha.
It's nice to see them finally make more green CP stars passive, but beyond that I don't see anything that even nudges me towards reconsidering the decision to cancel my ESO+ and basically stop playing. I'll take a fresh look when U46 drops, but in the meantime I'm having a LOT more fun spending my limited gaming time playing other MMOs. ZOS have a lot of ground to cover if they want players like me (and there are a sizeable number of us out there) to seriously consider playing the game again.
First thought when they started about talking out the older models and replacing them with higher-graphics/better blending for ground transitions was the picture of the flat seaweed you shared from High Isle. About the update preview: very optimistic about Cyrodiil's proposed changes, can't wait to get zergy with it again (or try to). Also really excited to not have to slot those passives in the CP tree.
I'm a little more hopeful that there may be improvements coming to the game. Still not enough to pull me back from Guild Wars 2 at this stage, but I'm keeping an eye on ESO in 2025.
The overhaul to pvp, especially healing, has me interested. I've tried to get into ESO's PvP before, but quickly got overwhelmed both metaphorically and literally. I didn't understand why enemy players were nigh-impervious to all of my attacks, or how they managed to annihilate me in mere milliseconds. When I started to realize the sheer volume of prerequisite game knowledge, set farming, and dueling experience required _just to play PvP at an entry level,_ I went "oh hell naw" and went back to playing PvE.
What i would like is for overland content to be a lot harder so adding the ability to change the scaling of difficulty like what Lord of the rings online did a couple of years ago would be great. If you want it easy set it easy if you want it hard set it hard. Everybody wins.
I left the game a few years back before I had nothing to work towards. Can you tell me what things there are to do in the game once I have the Armor set I want?
Consoles getting addons sounds really good, especially since console players always felt like 2nd class citizens to PC players, lol. If only I still played eso, that would've been nice to see
According istherenoonelse the issue with Cyrodiil performance is entirely due to having enough dedicated servers. He claims that the mid year mayhem event ZOS puts on each yeah has more dedicated server space which reduces lag. No idea if it’s true
CP tree change is welcome, as well as the base game updates to the Y2K graphics. Not too thrilled about locking more behind ESO+, but I assume that is going to be their plan going forward. 2025 has some decent looking MMO's coming out, so Seasonal Vacations could be nice. I hope Funcom doesn't bomb Dune: Awakenings as it seems like it will have controller support and similar action based combat.
Sis, they're cooking. I want the vengeance campaign to last longer than a week, it looks so fun- they're FIXING PVP! it's now skill based rather than jank based
Hello @Arttea - fellow ESO enjoyer here to share a concern. This must be the 10th time I hear the devs say they're going to do XYZ for "server load", "server performance", "server calculations". At the exact same time, ESO is the only game I play with 100-130 inconsistent ping (that sometimes reaches 150-200 in combat) on the Europe servers even though I am in physical proximity to Europe and only get ~~44 consistent ping in any other mainstream game. In fact, I usually get 110 ping to Dota 2's US East servers- that's consistent, therefore better than ESO's EU servers. This is the one grievance I've had with ESO above all- are they just cheaping out on servers, or what? It's really sucking the fun out of the game when all the controls become unresponsive during big spikes. Also a question for everyone else- where are you situated (roughly) and how much ping do you get?
Thank you Arttea for your dedication! I can't watch the midday streams so I depend on my favorite content creators to interpret for me, especially since y'all usually explain it in a way that is less scary than my initial understanding usually is 🖤🖤 I am actually slightly less terrified than I was after your last video! I daresay cautiously optimistic. Still a bit nervous abt the future, but this all sounds really promising. I'm very into the updated base game zones and textures, I just really hope base game racial motifs get the same kind of love. There are some pieces I adore, especially in Wood Elf style, but never use bc they look atrocious. More triangles please! And as a broke console loser, I am particularly excited for add-ons, at last!!! 🖤🖤
I'm not a PvPer, but I do hope that their changes make pvp people happy, for an overall better health of the game. I'm quite excited for the starter zones getting a new look. I hope the other older zones get a face-lift as well. Also, the green CP tree changes are a nice QoL minor change. Much needed. Side note... that MapleStory music just triggered my childhood hard 😅
@Arttea haha, I love maplestory and still get tempted to play it. But the grind killed my soul so I had to force myself to quit many years ago. But I loved the cutesy flashy look and the amazing music they have.
Not a fan of the Cyrodiil tests. It just seems like a very watered down version of combat and I have to target my allies for healing? Like tab targeting? That's not what I play ESO for. We'll have to see. Everything else is alright. I like the green CP changes. Mods for Console are great.
Thanks for the great video. The same exact Cyro test happened a few years ago and did nothing but waste players time, what makes this time any different? I don't think ESO will ever be able to handle the vision that the devs had for such a large PvEvE area, the game's engine obviously not built to handle such things. They can improve upon it, sure, but we wouldn't be here 10 years post-release if it was fixable. This really just feels like more hopium that ZoS is pumping into the community, which will quickly turn into copium. Another few years will go by, and they will say they're fixing it, yet again and the cycle starts over. They do the same things with the rest of the game too. This all feels like a way to boost Q1/Q2 numbers, but not long-term. I've been around this game since beta and know how much they hype things up only to produce a half-baked version of what was said and/or be wrought with major problems. Apologies to be so negative here, but I get the ZoS hope and cope gimmick far to well. This year will be THE year for this game, right? 🙄
TL;DR: They're "fixing" the best part of cyro and not the kind of content we want. Builds are fine as is, very few pvpers complain about pvp builds. Honestly most people don't even complain about Cyrodiil performance anymore. We just want fresh content. And maybe an end to ball groups. ---------- I honestly worry about the direction they're going with cyro. Part of what makes pvp in ESO so much fun is the build diversity and how creative you can get with load outs and then how effectively you can use them. Even if the class specific builds do improve performance (which I doubt), it would take away one of the things that really makes cyro fun. I mean, just look at the pvp servers right now, no proc & no cp servers are always super dead. If all you get are 15 skills (and 1-3 ultimates, depending if they're going the companion route and only giving you the one ultimate) & they're class exclusive, not only is now class an absolute dealbreaker on if you pvp with it (since historically you could use primarily weapon & guild skills if you wanted), but now you have very limited build diversity since you're essentially just picking which 5 skills you DON'T want to use, and I can guarantee there will be skills that are just objectively worse and so aren't even really a choice. FFXIV has roughly the same load out style for pvp and it honestly makes pvp so unfun to have no real options or variety. It's so exciting when you're doing fights and someone shows up with just an absolutely wild build and you get to poke at it, or coming up with new strats as the meta shifts around various popular sets or play styles. You lose a lot of the heart & replayability of pvp when you narrow it down to just "kill people fun." If that were the case, all pvpers would just play call or duty instead. All fights are suddenly just player skill or who brought the biggest zerg, which can be fun but it's not what people are in cyro for. It's just not fun to see who can press the same 10 buttons the best. I feel like zos might be missing the mark here. We DO want change, but we want new additional content, not the existing stuff to be reworked into being virtually unrecognizable. We're loud about the pvp because we really enjoy it. If performance is an issue (which I honestly think has been cleared up pretty well in the past couple years - it's pretty much just ball groups causing performance issues now) cap stacks of things like RR or lower max group size to 4 so you don't have to count as many "only applies to group members" skills. Take all the non-quest npcs out of cyro if they're really that desperate. No one is in there saying "oh wow I love fighting wolves" when there's keeps to seige. Even better, just make a pve instance and put all the questing in there and take all the non-guard npcs out of pvp cyro. I know things I personally would like to see in cyro are essentially new game modes, like how the hammer changes things up. It would be nice to see instead new daedric artifacts (that would double resistances for friendlies within a certain range or each kill with the artifact is an entire point for the campaign or a camp that has respawns in half the time that can't be burned) or like maybe occasionally a random resource or town will be worth going to (for double points or spawn unique things like capturing it has a chance to mail you a motif or style page or drop a lead to a new oil like we have leads for lancers or there's like one of the IC bosses guarding the resource). Imagine if cyro had a 20 minute crazy king or headhunter objective! For me and most of the people I pvp with, the enjoyment in cyro is from the actual fighting and refining the builds we create. The pvp itself is lots of fun in cyro; things that would be nice are excuses to do pvp for different reasons. Defending & taking keeps is still fun years in, but it would be nice to do the same pvp in different ways for different objectives. The real issue with pvp, especially cyro, is it's so good we've done it to the point of exhaustion. We want to do the same thing differently! We want life to be brought back into the game! Trials and dungeons get new mechanics and new bosses all the time where people get to do the same thing differently. We're just asking for new reasons to do the same things we've been doing. Things that pop up on the map and are worth spending 5 minutes on your horse to get out to the middle of nowhere and do combat. .
bro... i was hovering over arcane vids when your Viktor things game through. that was some fourth wall shit and it freaked me the fuck right out hahaha
Arttea should do ASMR sleep stuff where she just talks about shit for two hours. I don't even play ESO anymore, but I still come back to her videos just to listen to her voice.
“Massive scale battles” where are they ? On the North American server for consoles Cyrodill can barely fill three bars for each alliance, population is dead.
Wasn't there a test for a week in Cyrodil for a performance last year, and then nothing happened? So, it's the same thing with a new face but no commitment. Zos needs to put a ring on it.
I actually like the approach they are taking with pvp, as much as I live the game, pvp and builds I would live to have things harder in areas that are not an excel calculator for the damage I do 😂
The fact that they didn't address what they're gonna do about overland difficulty makes me worried. I quit the game because of that few years ago, I just couldn't immerse myself in any of the content since its balanced around 8 year olds in mind who might play on their parents's pc.
@@jakoby256 Their plans to rework overland difficulty will likely be discussed at the April global reveal, as they only chatted about the things that we can expect in the next update in that stream, and not the rest of the year.
All I Want Is To Do This Game But Also Explore Coldharbour Also They Should Expand Soul Shriven In Coldharbour Like I Wanna Meet Molag Bal And Have The Option To Tell On Lyris And In The End A Cutscene Of Lyris's Plan Failing Happens And We Get A GAME OVER That'd Make My Day 😂
I love the changes on green CP tree but I believe that the WHOLE green tree should be like that. Green CP tree is designed to be a convenience tool that becomes active and more useful as you progress through levels. It's a fair reward for people who spent a lot of time in game.
They would not be reworking old zones and testing stuff for Cyro performance and definitely not introducing new tech for add-ons on console, if they were preparing for the game to fade out. Those are changes that are supposed to be a long-term improvement. Of course you never know, what ideas some higher-ups will have, but at least the devs themselves seem to still be planning for the game to keep running for several years.
that cyro campaign will be a ghost town. just like the no-procs one. Not a single veteran pvp player who's been theory crafting and enjoying the pace of combat for years will go there. It seems to me they want something super brain dead and easy to play so that the devs themselves (who are absolute garbo at the game) can actually pvp just like we saw on their stream a couple months ago. flabbergasted. #FIREWHEELER
@ they said the same thing when they made the no procs and the solo q only bgs and both experiments lasted for longer than 2 patch cycles. They always gaslight players. Allow me to be skeptical…
It's crazy that 10 years later, they're still making tests to "fix" cyrodiil. But I'm sad to see how they're treating the community, and they were indifferents if not comptentuous most of the time. They truly have a bad way about to treat their playbase with respect. I'm glad I've left this game nonetheless.
Anytime fam I found out recently that it's actually cool to use a lot of Nintendo music in TH-cam videos (as in, you won't get slapped with a copyright claim) so I've been spamming some of my faves in my more recent vids!
Lol brk...cant wait for PvP changes. I miss u50 pvp it was so fun and very forgiving. Got my Empress, as i was on a female toon at the time, on a wardern. Miss thoes days.
Day 1 player here. Theyve been ' trying' to 'fix' cyrodiil for 10 years. There was a month where they turned off CP in all campaigns to see if that fixed it. Theyve upgraded servers, changed renderings etc etc. Nothing ever got fixed. Players cope every patch and say " I ThInK ThE LaG iS BeTtEr" It never is. Instead they just add more procs and explosions for mindless combat so hopefully people wont notice the dogshit gameplay. People die, players are happy. Regardless of how mindless it was ( enter, ballgroups). Eso was once an amazing game for combat, its now a laggy 'follow the leader' 3 button combat trainwreck. Move on people, its been a decade...time for something new
wait did i miss hear or did i hear that right. When the campaign vengence is out ZOS are gonna lock all the other pvp camps and force us to play that campaign
That's correct. The other campaigns will be temporarily locked for only one week in an attempt to get loads of people into the vengeance campaign for important testing purposes. Folks who are not interested in participating in the test will have to wait a week until the usual campaigns return.
Wait.. is zos about to do a good pvp update ?! I have been very pessimistic about the future of eso and especially cyrodiil (I even got a 3 day ban on the forums for agreeing with someone that we'd be better off with other devs/community managers) but it looks like everything we wanted for the past 4 ish years. I'm so excited ! Maybe we'll even see a fix to the stuck in combat bug by 2043
I really am looking forward to the proposed skill animation update. I'm just tired of my magestic holy templar doing the monkey poop squat every time he casts his rune, man.
When Gina says (re Cyrodiil tests) "we gotta start somewhere right?" - after 10 years. Oh. My. God.
Only took them FOUR YEARS 😂
yup. I died to lag a lot too. that's the ticket ! lag. it was lag
New Arttea video, +100 to the mood, instant cast.
1:58 Loving the quick and dry laugh 😂
Looking forward to the mount speed and Green CP improvement and the Dungeons. Not a huge PVPer or Console user, but I'm glad those folks are getting something too, especially Cyrodiil!
Always like your takes in these videos. :)
As always thank you for the recap! Didn't even know there was a dev stream, so your videos are much appreciated!
@@TheDrsalvation Ummm. you can hide your helm bro
@@provisionalhypothesis The point is for both to wear helmets, the "reason" they don't allow helms on companions is because they want them to feel like unique people (which is ironic when you see the same companions every single place you go)
What's a single thing that's more intriguing about the new battlegrounds?
@@alexpvpeso I really enjoy the larger teams. I would, I think, still prefer the 3x3 team format, but with 8 per side, but failing that, I like the eight per side battlegrounds a lot.
Ah yes finally
Cyrodiil beta
Sometimes I miss playing ESO (Quit around U35) Its a shame to see how disconnected the devs are. I do still enjoy watching ESO videos from time to time just to remember the good times lol
Finally, I'll be able to use some of those champion points that I've got sitting around.
For real, that specific QoL change is going to be super handy. No more paying to swap out stars all the time to min-max your gold-earning potential
@@Arttea fallen leaves of west weald was my fav event last year. And we got lord hollowjack, that was new, right ?
So that's testing the computational performance. Is there a corresponding test for whether folks want to play that stripped-down variant oc cyrodiil?
Love the summary, thank you. I'm pretty pumped for seeing what they come up with. I've been enjoying the 8v8 chaosball this weekend. Had a lot of fun. Keep the ESO videos coming ✊
its like the smallest thing but I'm hype for the base game zones getting updated
Saaaaame.
@@Sodge02 it’s about time they got a revamp!

Nice. Also, Happy New Year!!!
Happy new year to you too! 🎉
Love the champion points update, i wish they would also remove the color restriction for slottables. Would be nice to fill the whole bar with only damage/mitigation points!
Everyone say thank you to Arttea for another banger update video Thank you Arttea

That cp we don't have to slot is going to be sooooo nice. I slightly feel like untamed aggression shouldn't need to be slotted
Love the maple story background music lol
Nice video, thank you for making it.
Just gotta make sure that in the Vengeace PvP campaign we can actually use the Assault and Support Skill Lines. They're... its a PVP skill line. 😅
I'm looking forward to the console add-ons. Pretty much it for me
Can't believe they're gonna make PVP real.
Well god bless them for making most of my green championship point choices automatic. The thought of finally having a fast mount is overwhelming.
UPGRADED TO A LAPTOP!??? @1:52
I had a shitty laptop and now I have a slightly less shitty laptop 😎
Happy New Year :P
its time we all find a new game to fall in love with..
honestly i do hope Vengeance makes it thru as a mode at at least, I would be far more interested in PVP if it was just a level playing field.
Tho ideally i want that in a 3 to 5 minute BGs with 3 teams setting more than cyrodiil where you just need a high population.
The death commands in the dungeons was hilarious...
About time they do something about the lag. I hope they fix the bg lag. Everyone seems to be getting these crazy lag spikes.
aight so how many tests they gonna do? they been doin this for periodically for years saying the same bs. circa 2014 early 2015 pre IC (there is a lot of footage on yt) you could have massive scale keep fights etc that were completely smooth. we are talking hundreds of players, peak hour eso pvp with siege etc approx 500v500v500.
@@AdmoPK oh my god the seaweed from high isle is exactly what I thought about too lmaooo

With respect, respect is a two way street often. Some people just don't get along well and some others find only negativity where it need to exist.
I'm a little more hopeful that there may be improvements coming to the game. Still not enough to pull me back from Guild Wars 2 at this stage, but I'm keeping an eye on ESO in 2025.
Wow... she said "is that the first time we had something like that?" About the portal in a house to a new room....
U45 seems great IMO. Still cautiously optimistic for what's coming to ESO this year. The April announcement will really be the deciding factor tho.
What i would like is for overland content to be a lot harder so adding the ability to change the scaling of difficulty like what Lord of the rings online did a couple of years ago would be great. If you want it easy set it easy if you want it hard set it hard. Everybody wins.
Ive been asking the map filters for yearssssss
I hope pvp is improved with these changes honestly it sounds interesting

According istherenoonelse the issue with Cyrodiil performance is entirely due to having enough dedicated servers. He claims that the mid year mayhem event ZOS puts on each yeah has more dedicated server space which reduces lag.
No idea if it’s true
I havent logged on in 2yrs , ill wait and see if anything changes with cyro before reinstalling but i highly doubt it.
Didn't know the devs were chill like that.
I want the vengeance campaign to last longer than a week, it looks so fun- they're FIXING PVP! it's now skill based rather than jank based
Glad Concole is getting add-ons finally 👍🏾☺️
I am excited for the changes the add one is huge and the green cp tree passive changes are the biggest QoL updates we have gotten in 4 years
Tbh Im really excited for this. I know a lot of folks really wanted more for this update but it’s promising. I’m really excited for the AW dungeons.
Yesss maplestory was the GOAT! It was the first MMO I ever played!
@Arttea haha, I love maplestory and still get tempted to play it. But the grind killed my soul so I had to force myself to quit many years ago. But I loved the cutesy flashy look and the amazing music they have.

Happy new year!! 🥳🎉
I too am an Edge Lord!
TL;DR: They're "fixing" the best part of cyro and not the kind of content we want. Builds are fine as is, very few pvpers complain about pvp builds. Honestly most people don't even complain about Cyrodiil performance anymore. We just want fresh content. And maybe an end to ball groups.
----------
I honestly worry about the direction they're going with cyro.
Things that pop up on the map and are worth spending 5 minutes on your horse to get out to the middle of nowhere and do combat.
.

Finally a jabs my little 2 head can comprehend
They need to update achievements furniture in base zones and should have dailies

@@ArtteaShared my shards, of course.
This year will be _the year_ for ESO, right? 😃
that cyro campaign will be a ghost town. just like the no-procs one.
That campaign will only last a week and is for testing purposes only 🙏
@ they said the same thing when they made the no procs and the solo q only bgs and both experiments lasted for longer than 2 patch cycles. They always gaslight players. Allow me to be skeptical…
so no balancing for pvp?
*nope. ball will ball and you people who is into 1 v 1 will have a hard time killing now.*
I want a spider mount... maybe in 2025??? Maybe but maybe just maybe...
The no passives in cyrodill will make the nb no more as the passives are needed as a nb
What's going on with the Pokemon music in your recent videos? I love it! ^_^
Thank you for the update recap chef
Anytime fam
I found out recently that it's actually cool to use a lot of Nintendo music in TH-cam videos (as in, you won't get slapped with a copyright claim) so I've been spamming some of my faves in my more recent vids!

SHARDS
Day 1 player here.
Theyve been ' trying' to 'fix' cyrodiil for 10 years.
There was a month where they turned off CP in all campaigns to see if that fixed it.
Theyve upgraded servers, changed renderings etc etc.
Nothing ever got fixed.
Players cope every patch and say " I ThInK ThE LaG iS BeTtEr"
It never is.
Move on people, its been a decade...time for something new
Games should be enjoyed.
I agree
wait did i miss hear or did i hear that right.
