I have noticed how EU casters seems so insecure. They seem so confident that their region will win now, but I've always seen that as a sign of insecurity. :/ Especially when I often notice how they overhyped certain teams or plays of these teams as "meta", as if the world is adapting "their meta". Your team did well v.s. SKT and honestly Game 1 in this series looked like they were going to actually put a fight for the remaining matches, sucks we couldn't have maybe 5 games for finals sake.
Sadly this is like a reality check to show how much difference between every lane. The mental that western teams still think that a midlaner should not roaming so early and so much and just need to focus on laning phase proved helpless to play against this fpx team. What Nemesis said that he think Doingb is bad is just base on this theory. From this point, they are already behind this fpx. When half of this fpx team just roaming in the whole map so effective there is no safe lane for their opponents to sit and play a "laning phase".
That's actually why I prefer FPX's more than IG's win. FPX is the only team that I instantly liked upon winning because their macro and teamwork is so clean. If they replace a member, they can still be a top performing team since their value is not dependent on their individual players. It even took me a while before I liked SKT (around S5) but I liked FPX them moment they won against G2 because this was the cleanest win I saw.

Crimson Array As an SKT fan SKT got 3-0’d by SSG in finals so they’ve suffered the same embarrassment, and I don’t know what it is with SKT when it comes to G2, but they have this tendency to throw everything out the window when they face them. I was nervous all of semi. Do I think G2 is a better team than SKT? Not even close, but I do believe SKT doesn’t have enough practice against G2’s playstyle to warrant a smash. SKT definitely would have made this a 5 game worlds win or lose it would have gone to 5 games because FPX and SKT are so strong.

FPX are too cold and way more experienced playing at international stages. SKT were mostly rookies. Imagine that pressure at your first worlds stage. Seriously watch the series again and notice the crowd and SKT's faces. They were practically bullied off stage by EU fans on debut. It was disgusting to see that behavior.
Actually, reallyyy closee!!! SKT 2016 won Spring, MSI, and Worlds. But they weren't able to win the LCK Summer Split because in the playoffs while fighting KT, they were up 2-0 but then KT bounced back 2:2 and won Game 5 making it KT 3-2 SKT and knocked SKT off playoffs. But since SKT had a lot of Points to Qualify for Worlds 2016, they still qualified and won the entire thing!! Btw KT weren't able to qualify for Worlds due to them not having enough Points and i think they also got beaten by SSG in the regional qualifiers. KT also fought Rox Tigers in the playoffs right after and lost to them im pretty sure. (Btww no team had ever completed the golden road, which is Winning Spring, MSI, Summer, and Worlds a.k.a the Grand Slam until now~) Sorryy for the veryy long wait of 4 years LOL
LPL matched LEC fans for crowd chants. LCK crowd was more reserved so the pressure clearly got to SKT who couldn't convert their leads early game to close out.
Serghey Malanov I did. FPX dominated every game. After watching a documentary about FPX midlander, i’ve been rooting for SKT and FPX sense the start of worlds. G2 and their players are toxic, Caps is too arrogant... Though Caps is a really good roamer; better than Faker dare I say- FPX has really good synergy together. And their midlaner is like if you mixed Faker and Huni together and gave the kid crack, so joyful and emotional. Really amazing to watch.

They didn't throw. FPX just beat them at their own game/strategy. They played the flex game better and the "push mid and roam side" game better that were G2's signature styles. They were similar stylistic teams, FPX was just simply better.

Looking at it objectively, we *should* feast on this. EU has a much much bigger player base to foster talent from which inherently is going to make them a stronger region. Anyone hoping for actual NA success internationally is living a pipe dream. Theyve made improvements but most of us have been hedging our bets on a chinese or Korean team in finals for years anyways. So with that in mind nothing changed for us. -on the other hand, EU fans have been grabbing their dick in everyones faces all year telling people how big it is. Well the time came to show and we found out the the 2 in G2 stands for 2cm.

This is so utterly disappointing, more disappointing than when SKT lost in semifinals. I was fine with either of these two winning, I just wanted a tense and close finals but nooooo... I got a one-sided trashing. I guess Wunder was correct when he said SKT vs G2 was the true finals considering how intense it was, because they sure as hell sucked harder in this series than SKT did at semis. This result actually made me feel retroactively more disappointed at SKT for losing semis despite all their leads because FPX vs SKT should be a lot more interesting than this farce of a series. SKT would've been able to know how to deal with this FPX and I'd have a finals that isn't so one-sided. Heck, even the sweep at Worlds 2017 finals was more exciting than this. But alas, I wasn't meant to have that. Seriously, ALL I WANTED WAS A GAME 5! What the hell, G2! Still, despite my disappointment with SKT, I'll always support them. @@0Momotaurus0 yes, i watched those games live. i wouldn't entirely say g2 got lucky, but they sure as hell didn't 'destroy', 'stomp', 'trash' (or whatever one-sided word you have) skt in their games despite what others say. even with the 3-1 record, it was a very close tension-filled series. the main reason why g2 managed to defeat skt was mainly because of skt self-destructing and g2 capitalizing on that self-destruction, and this takes skill and good decision making. they are good, yes, but g2 was never as internationally dominant as what the casters and analysts want you to believe. this was manifest with their matches against grf. then, their close series against a struggling skt. that, and it's known that they never managed to defeat an lpl team so i never bought this 'g2 best team in the world' agenda. this was why when an lpl team moved in to finals, i wanted skt to proceed because they know how to handle lpl teams better than g2 does, and skt just has the best macro game to combat against an lpl team. then i wouldn't have gotten this one-sided series. still, though, g2 showed strong performance all year and i kinda expected them to step up and actually figure out how to deal with an lpl team. guess i was expecting too much.

What Nemesis said that he think Doingb is bad is just base on this theory. From this point, they are already behind this fpx. That's actually why I prefer FPX's more than IG's win. FPX is the only team that I instantly liked upon winning because their macro and teamwork is so clean. If they replace a member, they can still be a top performing team since their value is not dependent on their individual players. It even took me a while before I liked SKT (around S5) but I liked FPX them moment they won against G2 because this was the cleanest win I saw.

Actually, reallyyy closee!!! SKT 2016 won Spring, MSI, and Worlds. But they weren't able to win the LCK Summer Split because in the playoffs while fighting KT, they were up 2-0 but then KT bounced back 2:2 and won Game 5 making it KT 3-2 SKT and knocked SKT off playoffs. But since SKT had a lot of Points to Qualify for Worlds 2016, they still qualified and won the entire thing!! Btw KT weren't able to qualify for Worlds due to them not having enough Points and i think they also got beaten by SSG in the regional qualifiers. KT also fought Rox Tigers in the playoffs right after and lost to them im pretty sure. (Btww no team had ever completed the golden road, which is Winning Spring, MSI, Summer, and Worlds a.k.a the Grand Slam until now~)

Serghey Malanov I did. FPX dominated every game. After watching a documentary about FPX midlander, i’ve been rooting for SKT and FPX sense the start of worlds. G2 and their players are toxic, Caps is too arrogant... Though Caps is a really good roamer; better than Faker dare I say- FPX has really good synergy together. And their midlaner is like if you mixed Faker and Huni together and gave the kid crack, so joyful and emotional. Really amazing to watch.

Looking at it objectively, we *should* feast on this. EU has a much much bigger player base to foster talent from which inherently is going to make them a stronger region. Anyone hoping for actual NA success internationally is living a pipe dream. Theyve made improvements but most of us have been hedging our bets on a chinese or Korean team in finals for years anyways.
So with that in mind nothing changed for us.

This is so utterly disappointing, more disappointing than when SKT lost in semifinals. I was fine with either of these two winning, I just wanted a tense and close finals but nooooo... I got a one-sided trashing. I guess Wunder was correct when he said SKT vs G2 was the true finals considering how intense it was, because they sure as hell sucked harder in this series than SKT did at semis. This result actually made me feel retroactively more disappointed at SKT for losing semis despite all their leads because FPX vs SKT should be a lot more interesting than this farce of a series. SKT would've been able to know how to deal with this FPX and I'd have a finals that isn't so one-sided. Heck, even the sweep at Worlds 2017 finals was more exciting than this. But alas, I wasn't meant to have that. Seriously, ALL I WANTED WAS A GAME 5! What the hell, G2!
Still, despite my disappointment with SKT, I'll always support them. I hope they come back stronger next year. SKT, to me, will always remain to be the true showmasters of LOL due to how intensely and entertainingly back-and-forth their games are.
Anyway, congratulations, FPX! It is a well-deserved win. Fly, Phoenix, fly, indeed! The Phoenix music video was a big spoiler all along! And I gotta say that Doinb showed the best performance among the midlaners in Worlds this year. I look forward to how this team will continue to grow. GGWP!

Tbh G2 just got lucky against SKT, if you watched all those games SKT was always the one having the early advantage but failed to execute late game for comeback
@@0Momotaurus0 yes, i watched those games live. i wouldn't entirely say g2 got lucky, but they sure as hell didn't 'destroy', 'stomp', 'trash' (or whatever one-sided word you have) skt in their games despite what others say. even with the 3-1 record, it was a very close tension-filled series. the main reason why g2 managed to defeat skt was mainly because of skt self-destructing and g2 capitalizing on that self-destruction, and this takes skill and good decision making. they are good, yes, but g2 was never as internationally dominant as what the casters and analysts want you to believe. this was manifest with their matches against grf. then, their close series against a struggling skt. that, and it's known that they never managed to defeat an lpl team so i never bought this 'g2 best team in the world' agenda. this was why when an lpl team moved in to finals, i wanted skt to proceed because they know how to handle lpl teams better than g2 does, and skt just has the best macro game to combat against an lpl team. then i wouldn't have gotten this one-sided series. still, though, g2 showed strong performance all year and i kinda expected them to step up and actually figure out how to deal with an lpl team. guess i was expecting too much.
cannot agree more, i am even fine if every game was like the first match. no idea how suddenly they just lost all confidence. hopefully they could be better next year.
