  • Hachiman-bori Canal is the pride and joy of Omihachiman City. The canal is five-kilometers long and was used in the past to not only transport people and merchandises but also used to divide the city by class and caste.
    It was in the late 16th Century that the Toyotomi noble family wanted to develop Omihachiman City by connecting it to Lake Biwa, and de facto made Omihachiman City into a huge trading post between Tokyo and Kyoto.

    That is just stunning. Especially the shot of the river with the traditional boat.

    4:00 Why do the trees on the right have yellow leaves in the spring?

      Good question, I am not really sure I did not focus on that when filming, and this due to time limitation. Still, this was shot a few weeks ago, so just after the Sakura and before trees get their greenish leaves.

      @@seiatsuoswin4652 You can see the pink blossoms on the sakura trees so it's definitely spring.
      Edit: They confirmed it was shot a few weeks ago

      @@Niels-3 as long as it's beautiful to look at , what's wrong with growing different colors trees in the same place ? that's how the Japanese Government does everywhere in Japan .

    • @Niels-3
      @Niels-3 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@waikuenlee6242 I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. I'm just wondering why they're yellow since you would expect leaves to be yellow during fall and not spring. I've never seen trees with yellow leaves in spring.
