@tough cookie so you have the exact same parents, but you got bad genes. sounds like you're looking for something to blame, so you have an excuse to not even try mewing because you want to tell yourself that no matter what you do you'll always be ugly so why even bother trying.

Kohila G I got the ugly genes too and my brothers did not. (They also never had the kind of breathing and teeth issues I did.)
But the extractions and camouflage ortho still made things a lot worse. It just compounds what we already deal with, it is a nightmare.
The thing is, “mewing” for adults is basically a farce. There is truth to its sources but the actual act of “mewing” is not going to change any adult’s jaws, by that time they are done growing and you need surgery to change anything. Proper mouth and tongue posture is good but it will not markedly change any fully grown person’s bone structure. You need orthognathic surgery for that.
Sometimes I wonder what the point of surgery for me will even be if I have so many other features and issues making me unattractive. It is very hopeless. A person can only deal with so much.

Hi, Can you explain to me what Dr. Mew said in the video. I'm not native English speaker so I don't understand him. I had 4 extracted teeth since I was 15 and wisdom teeth when I was 20. Now I'm 28 and have only 26 teeth left. Even though I've been mewing for over a year I still think my face only gets a bit better. Now I just found out that extracted teeth are unnecessary and I want to cry.

I had my wisdom teeth (all 4 of them) extracted at the age of 19. I'm 24 now and I'm sure my face has changed for the worse. Will try and apply correct posture and such, but don't have too much hope since I'm relatively old already. Thank you for this information anyways.

Orthodontic victim here. I have 28 perfectly aligned teeth... but my upper arch is so small, there is literally no room for my tongue. When I try to mew, my tongue is squeezed in to an impossibly small space, exerting lateral pressure on my teeth. I suspect this is the reason many people with braces adopt a poor tongue posture. We were ruined as children.

man this really helps, im gonna get jaw surgery and they have to pull out your wisdom teeth (but they do that after all the orthodontic alignment of the teeth) so once the teeth are extracted i can just keep good posture and it wont worsen because i wont get more treatment, thats great
im 21 and worried that my face will destroyed because i plan to extract 2 teeth that are damaged (one really hurts af even rivht now, and the other is a black teeth that was root canal'ed years ago). This video puts me at ease to some extent knowing that extraction isn't the cause of deformation, but it is the improper tongue posture most likely to occur after the said extraction. I do hope that I can maintain my mewing gains if I actively remind myself later that I should continue to mew to at least minimize the damage, I really need to remove those teeth as one really freaking hurts. So kids, take care of your teeth, brush twice a day especially after eating sweets to avoid cavities. Also fmi, I already had one molar extracted in my elementary years and it will total to 3 after this procedure, though I am confident with my current facial structure rn, not sure tho after the removal of 2 teeth later.
when you extract the tooth there is bone resorption and gums recede so face can still change

@Nate M you can actually try bonesmashing to grow new bone. I got my wisdom teeth removed before they came out at 15. Now I am 18 and I have been bonesmashing my lower back jaw to have the jaw I had before and it worked

My orthodontist extracted 4 teeth (2 from the top and 2 from the bottom) to make space for my other teeth so i currently wear braces and elastics. Due to this, my teeth is being pulled in and I’m trying to mew to expand my maxilla but idk if it’s going to do anything due to the opposing forces? Is it possible to push by maxilla up regardless of what’s happening to my teeth and should I continue to try to push my maxilla or is my braces going to get in the way of any progress. I’m not sure what to do. I’m 17 btw

START A CHAIN: few questions, does wisdom teeth removal (all 4) negatively impact the face. i heard models and famous actors got theirs removed, but those were at older ages like mid 20s early 30s, when the face is mostly done developing and the jaw has solidified. if i got mine removed at 16, when my face hasn’t finished developing, how badly will that effect me?

I have extreme TMJ, pretty severe facial asymmetry and issues with my bite now which has completely destroyed my mental health. I’m not sure what to do.

You could try reversing your extractions. This will be pricey. Bone grafting to regrow the atrophied bone, reopening the spaces with an appliance, and tooth implants. This not only regrows your jaw, but the implant will also keep the bone from atrophying. Find a good specialist that performs extraction reversals and get a second opinion from another. Best of luck

Pushing upper front teeth out through the alveolar bone, his teeth then became loose/wobbly, and he got a "tunnel graft" to 'stabilize them', the success would have been hit or miss.

I always read about people getting 4 premolars extracted. But I only had one upper removed and now my right side looks pretty but the left side is asymmetric as shit. I will have an appointment, because I want to remove my fixed retainers but I am worried about my missing premolar. I also got all wisdom teeth amputated, and now my left side lacks in teeth. I honestly feel like a cripple. And orthodontic treatment is so expensive.

Their main motive is to make money they don't care about our looks. They will try their best to not loose easy money. In my case I only went for consultation after that I told my orthodontist I will decide and come tomorrow but he convinced me to have braces by saying that you have overbite, I'm free now, it will only take 30 minutes, I have 22y experience. I fell for his trap. But it's me now living in depression and regret.

I am practicing mewing for two months now and my cheeks started to hollow. I have gaps on my upper and lower set of molar teeth since they were removed because of cavity. What options are there to fill these gaps in??

I removed 4 of my premolars to have braces fitted in. Treatment finished 3 years ago. Now after discovering mewing I've been thinking that would there be gaps in the spots where those 4 teeth were removed

i got good genes but beauty of my face got severely damaged ( depression below eye area, lips got asymmetrical ) due to my teeth braces treatment, also it blocked my nose not fully but partially( i still breathe through my nose but nose feels stuffy), also now my teeth feels to be at an uncomfortable position all the time( pre-treatment i had no discomfort), imagine how bad my treatment was that this much damage happened to me and i still am facing problems all the time due to this bad treatment, my treatment started when i was 22 a fully grown adult.
forgot to mention that it reduced my tounge space as orthodontist extracted 2 premolars from the bottom jaw and retracted , also i regularly had pain and burn under eye area during treatment and now occasionally, my treatment was a disaster and my life ever since is a nightmare.

I had braces at 20yo and also extracted my premolars for this. After braces I noticed a big (negative) change in my face. That's why Dr. Mew made a lot of sence to me. With the years though I just got worse, my body got used to it and positioned my head in a different way so I can breathe better my lower teeth all formed an inverted U cause tongue is pushing down. Anyways, I heard that because I don't have enough space in my palate mewing is risky for me. What can I do? Is there a solution for me other than surgery? I'm 34 now
Acquire some insight on rapid palatal expanders, or any expander that can increase the space in your palate (helped me with breathing issues) and this should fix it. Tell me how it goes I'm not an orthodontist btw

Going through same situation 😢 my head positioned in a different way after orthodontic treatment and got lot of health problems like headache, back pain,etc. Now iam going to get treatment again. Iam currently 20 yrs old and my wisdom teeth is still growing so iam hoping a good result 🙂

@@corn10 well in my case my bite was not correct after braces this caused tention between my jaws and it affected my neck position too. So , iam currently wearing a bite adjustment product and after this I will get expansion to create space for my tongue. Hearing you already got tmj problem, I think you better mention it ur Dr and parents... Goodluck on ur treatment 🫂

Little does she know I'm waiting for genetic engineering so I can get my wisdom teeth back, I'm mewing in the mean time, but when I was doing hard mewing my top right molar started to come down faster as well as my top left.

I'm mewing and my gaps are reopening and I'm waiting for my wisdom teeth to come out! I'm feeling better now that I have the wire off and that my gaps are reopening
woduhka •-• why take your wire off? You know that wires can advance your teeth as well as push them back? Ask your ortho to advance your teeth And put spring coils where the teeth were extracted. It’ll open MUCH faster you’re wasting time .
@@harmonyL I'm afraid becuase my jaw joints are misaligned I think it's better to align them and reopen the gaps. I'm very scared on putting my wire on :( because so much retracting gave me TMJ

I would sleep with my mouth open with out knowing that's why. And I didn't know until my mom told me at age 14. Im turning 16 next month.

I also had a missing incisor in my mandible. When I had Invisalign years ago I was never presented with the option of implant since I already had crowding. The Ortho closed the gap. After many years my face is asymmetrical with my R side collapsed (where I had the missing incisor). Even my lips are asymmetrical. I’ve started Damon braces as an adult to somehow try to open my arches but the Ortho said reopening a space enough to place the missing teeth is not possible. I’m so sad.

Solid proof are you joking? How about all the people who have had extraction without replacement and now are unhappy with the appearance of their face, i.e. sagging skin around the mouth? Some searching on google which will take you to many people's experiences on Quora for example, countless articles explaining how tooth removal is followed by shinking of jawline and common sense should be all the proof you need. What happens if skin is not as stretched as it was before? It sags...

Facial yoga is meant for training your muscles whereas orthotropic aims for the betterment of face structure itself.
