Dave, I love your channel. I’m a custom furniture maker and until now, I’ve never painted any of my pieces. I typically use hardwoods and I let the natural beauty come through. As they say, you have to give the people what they want. I have a client that wants me to build an office credenza and she wants it painted white. I’m going to build it with poplar and I plan to spray it because of the speed and I hate painting with a brush. It will have drawers, doors and shelves. I watched your cabinet videos and I really need some advice. I also plan on doing built-ins in the future for my clients. What primer do I use for bare wood and what is the best satin paint to use. Also, if you could recommend a sprayer that would be super helpful.
I recently used emerald urethane semi gloss on cabinets. I used a Graco 395 with a 210 fflp tip, came out like a car finish! It really couldn't get any better.
I disagree ; get a good oil base primer like Zinnzer/ cover stain, but not the low voc version. The original formula is good. Always clean & scuff cabinets before primer. White shellac primer is best used for heavy fire & smoke damage. Shalom

Would you spray a polyurethane clear over the Emerald to help with the rough texture? Also would it add to the protective properties? Thanks

Yes spraying makes a huge difference
What primer would you recommend with SW Emerald Satin when refinishing cabinets?
Shellac primer

@@gregorystinette8271 do you spray roll or brush it?
@PerlitaPearl Venegas / depends upon the jobsite & other factors, such as customer expectations/ you can even buy that primer in a spray can
@@gregorystinette8271 got it Yes I've seen the spray can primer method this channel uses shellac in a can on one of his videos but it's $12 a can 🤯
