I think your insights are correct. Lack of IT talent keeping pace with new technology and software offerings should be a concern for every CIO. The idea of buying a platform that will get your organization 5+ years down the road should be a ERP consideration. You can take new talent, introduce them to the platform, and in 5 years they will own it.
