For anybody watching! at some point the Forte Models switched placing the turn signal Below the tail light.
if you have a 2018 Forte you need to unscrew the gray one that is below the central connector

I followed this video and messed up my break light, the turn signal is on the bottom for 2016 Kia optima.

not sure if that's a turn signal bulb, but the process is the same. I've got a 2018 Forte, and the bulb is in the lower socket

Great video! only one I found for a pre-2019 that shows the steps really needed for these models. Design is lousy for DIY bulb change and useless instruction in Kia manual.😀

The bulb on my 2017 Forte is on the bottom not the top. I am having issues removing it. Any advice?

It's possible its just stuck in there. Even after you twist the bulb holder left, it could be stuck in there cause of moisture. Just try to wiggle it left, right, left, right and it should come loose. Good luck!

I have a 2018 and bought the lamps today but it included two bulbs. Did replace the top and bottom bulbs and just showed the top one?

The other bulb is for the other light on the opposite side. The bottom one is a the brake light I think
