  • St. Michael's Mount in Cornwall is an island for sixteen hours a day but during low tide visitors can walk to the mount via a three tenths of a mile long cobblestoned causeway. In the year 495, local fishermen saw a vision of St. Michael the Archangel standing on the mount. The island became the location for a monastery and a destination for pilgrims. Local legend says a giant once lived on the island and that a farm boy named Jack killed him. The Island was given to the National Trust in 1954 with a condition that the St. Aubyn family and their decedents could continue living there for the next nine-hundred ninety-nine years.

Bonjour mon aimée, Je suis anglais et J'adore France et le Tour de France. Je pense il est tres important to maintain friendships admiration and common ground at times like this. It is very upsetting to see disputes between British and friend fishermen, wasn't Christ a fisherman, he would not approve of such hostility and discord. Give my regards to France and all the French , I love France and hold no animosity towards the French whatsoever. It is our media that constantly stirs up trouble and animosity, hopefully we will all find ways to work in harmony and cooperation. Vive le France, Liberty, Egality, Fraternitee, . Ps don't let that hellish religion of Islam scare your women away from public places, is what makes France beautiful, cafe culture, beautiful women, and mountains.

I was at St. Michael's Mount nearly 40 years ago. It was a wonderful time in my life. I will never forget how beautiful it was.

    "This time St. Michael was
    a constant protector of mariners
and fishermen in the area. He
would give the sailors to safe
    harbour and was invoked as
    a patron saint of fishermen".
    "St.Michael's Chair from which
    St. Michael sits and watch
    over England". (The fascinating
    story of Saint Michael's Mount
    in Cornwall, by Philip
    Koslosky).
