You can tell that this version is a more mellow and softer version of the song to make it more “radio friendly” for the resident evil soundtrack. Corey’s scream in the album version is much more aggressive and scary.
I saw them at Congress Theatre in Chicago 2005 ish and yes. I didn’t feel unsafe but the closer you got to the stage more people were moshing. Even at the back of the room I felt my eardrums were dead but they weren’t

It feels like it kind of just abused the original vocals like if feels it is over affected and really echoey. At around 2:15 isn't too bad though. It feels closer to self titled than Iowa with the "younger voice". Also the instrumental is mixed quieter than the original which makes the vocals more pronounced so that might be a part of it.

My wife and I saw Slipknot for the first time a little over a decade ago. They just played near me last month, and we wanted so badly to go. Unfortunately, we couldn't go as we just had a baby this year. I'm hoping next year, they'll be on tour and we can go see them again.
