  • Join us on an extraordinary virtual safari as we get a chance to feature the elusive Nhlanguleni Female Leopard and Have a phenomenal sighting of a pangolin.
Following a leopard around is always an incredible experience, and the leopard viewing at Londolozi is renowned as some of the best in the world. This is thanks to the meticulous and gradual habituation process implemented since 1979 when the legendary Mother Leopard was first seen. Over the decades, this process has allowed us to become a seamless part of their environment, observing without affecting their natural behaviour.
Our morning was nothing short of spectacular as we shadowed the Nhlanguleni Female, observing her grace and stealth as she moved through her territory. Every moment spent with these majestic creatures offers a unique insight into their lives, from the pathways they use to the way they mark territory right down to their hunting techniques.
To finish off this Virtual Safari, we were treated to yet another extraordinary experience. The highlight of an evening drive was the rare sighting of a pangolin, a creature often elusive, difficult to spot, and fairly strictly nocturnal. Watching the pangolin move through the grass, seemingly unperturbed by our presence, was a magical and humbling experience.
Witnessing these incredible animals in their natural habitat is a reminder of the beauty and diversity of the wildlife at Londolozi. Each safari offers a new adventure and a deeper connection to the wonders of the African bush.

Exciting to see the Pangolin as they truly are elusive due to their nocturnal patterns. ❤

Such a beautiful leopard sighting, she is a stunning cat. Hoping to see some little cubs in the not too distant future.... So very cool to see the Pangolin too. Such gentle creatures.

Morning LGR. It so must have felt great for you to follow the elusive Nhlanguleni female for the first time in ages. It will be nice and interesting to know a lot more about her family history as you've known her there since 2011 when she was just a very nervous and shy female leopard. But it's good to see that she's relaxed down considerably over the last 13 long years nonstop.
It's a pity that she hasn't been able to raise any more cubs apart from the two grown-up daughters she birthed in 2018. As we know, all too well, it isn't and wasn't her fault that she's lost at least another 10 cubs in the following 4 to 5 litters, but she's just been very unlucky. So let's hope that in several weeks time, when and if she does have a new fresh litter, that she'll be more fortunate and lucky to raise them to hard independence like she did with the Finfoot and Nkuwa females six years ago.
Had she been seen a lot more frequently, then I suppose it is possible that we might be able to get a better idea of what she's been up to and where she has been with herself there fairly recently. However, let's all keep our fingers crossed for her. It'll be nice if she can raise another fresh litter of cubs so successfully, although she's been ever so faultlessly unlucky with raising the following litters in the last couple of years or so sadly.
Although she wasn't in this clip, I can't wait to see and read the very next update on the ageing Mashaba female as she'll be 16 years old in September. But she is and has been another old and long-time favourite of so many people throughout her long life time, it is easy to wonder how and where she is as sightings if her are often few and far between there. Aren't they? I know she's getting in a fair bit now, but do you think she may be able to produce at least 1 more cub before her time is up and she becomes infertile?
She's a bit like the Tsalala lioness, as they're both elusive but very special cats indeed. And as we know, the latter has yet to reveal her in very first litter of cubs there, as it'll be then that we'll be able to know how many cubs she's got in total altogether. I hope it'll be within the next week or so.
As a first-time and very special mothering lioness, I'd like to wish her the very best of hopeful luck with raising her very first litter of cubs to hard independence and adulthood very successfully. Not only can I not wait to see the first photos of her cubs, but I'd also like to think that she'll be ever so very successful in rebuilding her decimated birth pride's existence and dynasty back up to what it once was before. But only she and her cubs will survive if the fathers of her cubs (the 2 Plains Camp males) retain their territory by keeping rouge males and other rivals predators well away.
I'd appreciate it a lot if you could give me a good update on them as soon and as quickly as possible, please. I hope you get lots of regular updates from the rangers at Singita, where she's residing and denning now currently. Do you? I'd like to know how the Mashaba female leopard and the Tsalala lioness are both doing and faring there when you've got a free moment to send me a good reply, please.
Hope to hear from you shortly.

Difficult to hunt for food surrounded by vehicles filled with chatty clients , come people give the leopard room to hunt without noisy people.
