Bluetooth not showing in Windows 7

windows 7 bluetooth will only work if you have bluetooth capability built into your wifi adapter or if you have added a bluetooth adapter. Even then it will still only work if the adapter is bluetooth 4.0 or earlier. Then bluetooth devices you wish to use must not be newer than than BT 4.0, also. This severely limits use of most devices over the last 5 years or so. No worry as your wifi/bluetooth adapter may have a driver of its own which supports newer hardware. When buying an adapter to add bluetooth to a desktop or laptop, be sure to find one that has a driver for Windows 7. The best one I have found is Orico Bluetooth Adapter 5.0 USB. Their website has the driver and it works great...

@@makskrol9565 It's been awhile since I tried, but I think I tried 4.1. it did not work, so probably not 4.2 too. Yes, too new. You can give it a try and see. If you search the card manufacturer and part number, their website may have an updated driver for Windows 7. The problem is the W7 standard driver included in W7. That said, Orico has a BT 5.0 that has a driver on their website for W7. That works perfectly for me on 3 different W7 computers. ebay has them for about $17 free shipping from Bulgaria.
