Re-Publishing My Books Under a New Pen Name & COVER REVEALS! // Last week I made the big announcement that I was starting a new pen name to publish my latest book, but to also re-publish Meet Me at the Summit and Let the Rubble Fall! Today I'm going into details of why I created a new pen name, how I re-released published books with a pen name, and of course a cover reveal! I have two pen names as well: one for my fantasy books and the other for my sci-fi horror.
I'm writing fiction and non fiction, only haven't published due to an employer contract. I've been thinking about this for a while and you've made clear what I should do. Thank you very much!
The new covers are gorgeous! I wish you so much luck on your rebrand. It's wild to think about how marketing can be impacted by things like what subjects you cover in newsletters/IG posts/etc.

Thank you for speaking on the brand and marketing side of self-publishing! I'm working on releasing my poetry collection in Sept., but my current IG page is geared to writers since I'm a freelance editor and beta reader. I hadn't even considered not catering to both sides of my intended audiences. That aside, I love the new pen name, and the new covers are GORGEOUS!

I know! I struggled a lot because I did love my old covers so much, but it’s hard not to live the new covers too!
@@MandiLynnWrites luckily I have the old covers. But, clearly I will need to get them with the new covers as well.
I have four publishing names and I want to take it down to two. I've always been afraid of getting in trouble for changing metadata on Amazon and was told that the only way not to was to have both names ( add the main pen name writing as the secondary one) I would prefer to just have one name so , I will try it this way.

Your new book covers look really nice and colorful. I may make a couple changes in my author branding too, just not with my pen name.
On the print books in KDP when I rebranded from my real name to my Pen name, I archived the old print and uploaded a new interior file with the new cover and new pen name. This is what KDP support told me to do. You can do this and get a new free ISBN. However, if you have your own ISBN then the way you did it would be the only way to do it. I use the free KDP ISBN so I just made a new print book.

Did I hear that right that you opened a new account? A new kdp account? You're not allowed to have 2. I don't use pen names but as far as i know you can have different pen names or different authors under one kdp. I think if you talked to kdp they would let you republish under a new pen name so you don't have to have a contributor, or two authors attached to one book. You could have done it as a second edition perhaps.

You said you made two amazon accounts. Do you have more than 1 now?
Two Amazon accounts to have a separate Amazon Author Central account, but everything is still under the same KDP account

Original 👍, but too similar looking
Instead of 2 newsletters and 2 accounts on some websites, you chose to have 2 names, create all new covers, and still need 2 newsletters and 2 accounts on some websites. Seems much effort to make more work for you and your customers. Most would prefer "Mandi Lynn, YA" or "Mandi Lynn, Publishing Expert"
