Into the Spider-Verse is about as close as you can get to a perfect movie. There is not one wasted story beat, from bagels to broken glass.
Whiplash is a nearly perfect movie as well
They nailed the villain motive. He didn't want to blow up new york, he just wanted to get his family back
The What's Up Danger Leap of Faith scene is perfect story telling, it ties into the theme so well, the animation, the fact of the glass breaking always makes me cry because it shows Miles is terrified, he doesn't want to jump but he does any way. This movie encapsulates why I love Spider-Man, just masterful from all angles
That intro is still raw as hell
No Carboni is kind of a bummer, those Spider-Man in reviews with him are some of the best content since I started watching in 2020, though part of the fun with those was making fun of the bad parts of the movies, and this movie is almost perfect, so if he had to miss one this was the one to miss.
I rewatched this yesterday and man, it’s so freaking insanely good. The “leap of faith” scene makes me tear up every dang time
The mishearing of "ride me like a cruise" really got me 😂

greg is a crazy man
The What's Up Danger scene is legitimately the greatest scene I've ever seen in my life. I got tears in my eyes from Tim reading the script. Goddamn.
This is my fav spider man movie ever and it made me love animation even more and I’m a beginner animator in art school also I’m seeing the new one across the spider verse on Thursday.
Kris the real mvp cause of everything he did for this movie while dealing the Nick and Mike’s antics in warzone
I'm being generous when I say I hope there are at least 5 "this is how I became spiderman" moments in across the spider verse
It's so stupid, but every time Nick said "shoulder test" and not shoulder "TOUCH", I yelled at the screen. The fact no one corrected him got me irrationally upset. :)
Love that someone as talented as Kris comes and fools around with these degenerates, awesome that he got to work on the new movie
Most movies don’t have this many scenes that give me goosebumps just to hear them described hyped for the new one, Greg in rare form this episode, kind of like the idea that these rewatches can be a little more off the rails. Not that we are ever on the rails around here to Tim’s chagrin

I'm so glad Kris Anka was on this!!! As someone who comes from animation as a background artist and the desire to hear more interviews from the artists that make the great movies, I loved hearing him talk about designing and the production for the next movie. A work-from-home production too! Living thr dream haha. Probably my most anticipated film!
i don't think anyone else is doing animation even close to what's in Across the Spider-Verse. watched it twice tonight, and as an animator/visual artist myself, i think you will absolutely love it.

so i saw "Across the Spider-Verse" twice tonight - and someway, somehow, the team who made this movie upped their game yet again, on every level. the opening sequence alone is what i've always imagined seeing outside of the book that spawned one of my favourite characters - and it just gets better and better from there. loved every moment, every frame, every music cue. beautiful movie, astonishing sequel. you're all in for one hell of a time. peace!

I'm sure I'm wrong but it FEELS like we haven't gotten a new In Review series in forever. These rewatches are so redundant. I get the MCU ones since it's the first and main one but these other ones... it's basically a rerun.
You’re right, but in their defense what notable film franchises are left? A few, sure, but they’ve covered all the big ones.
@@VooDooChild6971 they’ve barely scratched the surface of movies. There’s literally so many franchises to choose from.
Personally, I’d like to see Alien, Rambo, Blade Runner, Bourne movies, Austin powers just to name a few but the possibilities are endless really once you look outside of what’s popular today.

Such a great movie. I’m not as high who call it one of the best movies of all time but it is just so good. Villains could be better, wish there was some more comedic beats but I’m just nitpicking

He liked it but didn’t like it as much as Spider-Man 2018, so Greg ran with it to say that Bless hates it with a passion, and now it’s a gag to mess with Bless. Go watch the KF review of the game if you want to see

Calling bullshit on Tim being a Miles Morales fan since day one. Not because Miles isnt a fantastic Spiderman but just because everyone hated him when he first showed up replacing Peter Parker in Ultimate Spiderman, only over time did people start to love him.

I was Reading Ultimate Spider-Man since 2005 after the Ultimate Spider-Man Game Made Such an Impact in my life, the Ultimate Universe Was POPULAR as Fuck, X-Men Legends as well,
Remember Miles Story is DIRECTLY After the Ultimate Spider-Man story, do it’s believable that people respected Marvel for ACTUALLY Killing Spider-Man until they didn’t 😂 lol but at the time Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales
Vol. 1-5 were and still are INCREDIBLE
First
the issue with this movie and why it didnt track well at the box office is 3 things. 1, it didn't make much money because its a superhero animated movie, and to the general public, animation is a juvenile art form, and it looked more like a kids movie, so its not going to perform well with the older general public, never mind that its Spiderman. 2, from the trailers and all the characters, it didn't look accessible to the layman. it looked like it was going to involve all sorts of stories and characters you might need to be in the know for to enjoy the movie, regular fans or moviegoers wouldn't enjoy it as much. They actually did a good job balancing comic stuff and making it accessible, the trailer didnt make it look that way. The last thing is the animation style. It was a terrible choice the 12 and 24 frames thing was terrible and it just looked not good, really amateur art style look that was not pleasing to the eye.
The time they waste rereviewing movies that they already know they love could actually be put towards making good original content. Damn KF gets worse every year
Oh, you mean everything else? If you don't get why they rewatch before the next movie, you haven't been keeping up for the past couple years. Easy for you to be on your way instead of spreading negativity to the team who has multiple streams every day.
I understand its a rewatch so you guys have talked about the story beats before but it bugged me a little that Nick was just flying through the plot, but maybe you guys breeze the plot often and I'm only noticing because I really really like this movie ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This next part is my own personal gripe, nothing to do with the Rewatch: NO ONE acknowledges the Mean Girls reference lol It implies that Gwen has Mean Girls in her universe and Miles doesnt and thats a shame lol

Top Gun Maverick is Tim's favorite movie of all time and Andy actually compared this movie to She Hulk. Having different opinions about media is one thing, but God these guys have consistently had the most awful takes.
