@@arnoldjack7956 He did forgive him. People are really struggling understanding this scene.
@@cockoffgewgle4993 well I wouldn't have!
@@arnoldjack7956 Do you have siblings?
@@cockoffgewgle4993 yeah! So?!
This is the best scene for me in showing Jakes love for his brother or really anyone else in the movie. Great stuff.
probably the most emotional and heartfelt scene joe and bob ever did............
Give both brothers credit..they both lived to be 95
Scorsese, Rod Serling, and Shakespeare - the trifecta of epic storytelling.
Shakespeare wasn't in this film
@@user-zy9yg2eu5t - I am aware of that information. I was refering to the sign at the 2:39 mark.
@@wendelldallas7572 no, Shakespeare was dead i think by the time this was made
I love how you put Rod Sterling in there.
@@wendelldallas7572 Like Duh, did any of those responding to you even bother to watch the whole video.
Obviously you were referring to the sign with their names in it, or the 'works of' sign.
I totally got what you meant.
Such a sad scene, you can tell Jake regrets how he treated his brother
he doesn’t tho😂 Thats the point of the film, Jake is a HORRIBLE person
@@Chuked you missed the point of the movie man. Jake is just a troubled man
I love this scene I once got into a fight with my brother and we didn't speak to each other in over a year .
My parents (Mum) would fall out with family members and not see them for years. Then they'd be best of friends. Rinse and repeat.
I don't know what they'd fall out over but I can imagine it was something petty.
Jack and Joey didn't "get into a fight", Jack, a professionally trained boxer beat his friend and best friend to a bloody pulp in front of the latter's wife and kids. Is what happened between you and brother anything like that?
In real life Joey and Jake didn't have a falling-out. It was Jake and his friend Pete. They created fiction to make the movie more interesting.
This is how a true friend should ask for forgiveness when he hurts another.
He doesn't ask for forgiveness though. At no point does he say "I'm sorry" or "I was wrong"
I love my Brother but I have to walk away and wish him all the best in life. #RealLife 💪🏽🙏🏼😞💔💖
It's pretty obvious to me that Joey doesn't want to know.
And I don't blame him.
Someone once told me “people come and go, but family is forever”
Fuck outta here all you have in the end is yourself!
@@B1astFriend 😞 you okay bro?
Yeah but not all Family members have the same heart. Some people you just have to cut off for your own sanity and self respect.
family is so over hyped, no one backstabs you more than family
@@romybobby Who's going to be there when you're in hospital or homeless? More often than not, it's family and not friends.
This is the pinnacle of acting and movie making.
"I've done a lotta bad things, Joey... Maybe it's coming back to me."
Thats the heaviest I've ever seen deniro on screen. I heard that he purposely gained the weight for these scenes. Crazy.
I love the scene right before this one with "Emma 48's" where he is getting heckled in the bar.
can’t imagine being disowned by my brother, this movie was tragic
This is the scene I remembered the most in the whole film, a nice stouch the Pesci sniffed as well, anyone know if that was in the script?
I like how Joey is in a white coat and Jake is in a black coat.
You're very easily pleased 😂😂
Black for being guilty, white for being innocent.
Such a heartbreaking scene. You really feel for Jake and all he went through.
Really???
It's his brother that I feel for.
Jake was a prick.
He put himself through it.
Did you ever watch the movie, dude? It's all Jake's own fault.
@@Aivottaja Sure, but you need to understand it from his perspective. He accomplished something extraordinary in life. There were a lot of pressures on him.
I only felt bad for Joey. Jake can get fucked
This scene just makes me cry sooo hard.almost unbearable.
All you commenters saying Jake had burnt the bridge beyond repair obviously have no idea how strong the bond between family is. Even after decades of being estranged, you'd be surprised how family members are willing to forgive and forget.
Or you’re the one who is okay with living with utter dysfunction.
0:39 That's the Ambassador Theatre on W 49th Street.
Damn this scene feels so real. The way joey sniffs and cries a little and the whole vibe of this scene is just like how real life would've played out
If you bash someone up, don't expect them to talk to you ever again.
I knew Jimmy and Tommy had history.
And the thing is, he doesn't say or do much.
One of my favourites from the movie
No, my dear positive people. Time DID NOT heal wounds. Especially so deep ones
I would have changed the movie by adding a twist at the end:
*Joey arrives at home and Jake's wife, Vickie is waiting him in bed:*
- Does he suspect anything...?
- Naaah, he bought it!
- Finally! Didn't expect it would take so long...Now come here!
*Joey unzips his pants... Screen fades to black, ending credits start to roll.*
Joey is just upset cause he knows his son will wind up on ALF
Joey played by Tony shalhob
Scene breaks my fucking heart.
Powerful
This is w 49 st, northwest corner between bway and 8th Ave. The club was across the street near encore 49, formerly marino's
No more shinebox jake
Powerful and great scene
Heartbreaking.
Jake never apologized
I fucking cried at this scene
2:13 what does Joe say?
Yeah, that's what he said.
yeah but I wonder if he said that so Jake would leave him alone
@@georgeguja9996 Yeah, it was just to placate Jake. I'm sure he didn't mean it.
When i see that scene . I do that too my brother like the scene after ididn't spoke with my brohter for 2 years . De niro give me inspirtion. To aplogise to my brother .
Saddest scene in the movie hands down!
Legendary
Jake has serious problems being insecure he thought everybody wanted his wife forgetting that Joey stood up for his brother while she was out doing shit
the slow motion
Something similar happened between me and my brother and I haven't spoken to him since. And I never will.
Not for nothing, I walk down the alley. I see this? I walk the other way.
I have 3 brothers. This scene always hits me hard
How does de Nero go from thin to fat in the movie wow that's dedication
Crazy how Jake had flames out so hard. He’s bloated and creepy and over the hill. Like Elvis at his later phase. Sad to watch
"I'll cool ya."
Heartbreaking
Impossible not to relate.
This happened to me and my brother, wasn’t over a affair though.
what happened did both of you have the same fleshlight
memo baba 😂
@@tshirt_ no we got into a disagreement and got into a fight. He ended up coming to my house and apologized and we made up.

@@taylorpack7705 That's it?
I can't even count how many times my brother and I have fought. It's natural.
so sad and yet so true
Who is the lady with him that he puts in the cab ?
Watch the suit!
For the sake of the mother who bore us I'll give you this last night to reconsider
joe pesci in this scene are like Don vito on Godfather.
he really regreted it but it was a bit already late
Such an uncomfortable scene.
I'm ya brada...come on...Joe. 😆
Great scene, great movie
Now my brother and I don't talk each other, maybe when we get older we will.
I say make things right with your brother don't stop talking to eatchover over some stupid shit
Jesus. Heartbreaking. The acting is so good- not over the top. Muted. Lesser actors snd director would have totally ruined it with too much emotion and reactions.
Did they reconcile?.
I was expecting him to say 'Hey, you're wrinkling up my suit', followed by 'Hey, just don't go busting my balls'....followed by 'You know, it doesn't sound like you're kidding all the time, there's a lot of people around'....
Billy Batts would of never gotten away with slobbering over him like that.
Did he feel like he was alone he couldnt take it no
did he ever call him?
Jo Pesci immenso. Mai premiato abbastanza. Mai. Maledetta Academy. 😡Un attore di una potenza fuori dal comune.
pesci acted circles around deniro in this movie
Ridiculous comment.
Pure delusion
I find this scene so hilarious for some reason
Does anyone else think Pesci looks like Tony Shaloub with that hairstyle?
did joey call?
