Soul Gappa is a failed concept of francise stores like chai sutta bar and mba chai wala. Also crispee is an old concept like haldiram and not good to scale as compared to that wine startup. In my opinion only startups worth investing was wine and non-veg snack one. Rest all are school projects like Shantanu said.
That’s not true. Chai Sutta Bar is profitable and managing their franchise business very well. That is why they’re growing rapidly in India and Internationally. Several companies run and make huge profits using various types of franchise model like Dominos,Popeyes and Dunkin Donuts - all belong to Jubilant Foodworks. Gen Z prefer hygiene unlike Millennials. Soul Goppa can make it big 5-10yrs from now. But for the wine I really have doubts and that is of the following 2 reasons: 1. Due to yearly change of state taxes on import/export of alcohols, these small new brands suffer a lot. (Read about Meads from Shark Tank) 2. Wine is something people love to consume when it is old enough and imported from France, Spain and South America where they were born. Wine resembles stature. Wine tastes better with time. Sula consumers are way lesser than imported wine consumers, and there is a very distinct difference in their taste and smell. College kids never opt for a wine but beer or other alcohols when they’re out with friends. It is difficult for this category to become mainstream like beer and others.
I have read it somewhere that "any business which can be replicated by anyone can't have any advantage as a company" which is in case of Soul Gappa. Anyone can open a goal gappa stall and include much more dishes to it. But when you buy a franchise which can't be distinguished from the rest it is doomed to fail. Reality is that no innovation is involved there. You just need a gloves to be hygienic in a gol gappa redi which is the usp of soul gappa. Also any business which either have addiction/ sell hope are sure to grow over time which is in case of wine one. Also non veg snacks was much better concept than dosa snack. Do let me know if my analysis is wrong.

it is more about the network and work with like minded people, and ofcourse it teach you insight of other companies mistakes or milestone so we can take a lesson from it
