    Nice. Luv that stream. the state stocked those spots in that stream and 3 others in 1978. 310,000 of them.

      Wow I didn’t know that. That’s awesome! It’s one of my favorite rivers here. It’s so full of life. We’ve caught and hooked into so many species of fish out there since discovering it.

    You have me stumped about that panfish species wise. It has a mixture of everything it seems. Pumpkinseed, Longear, and Redbreast traits.

      Dude, there are so many hybrids out there! I can’t imagine how many species actually exist in that river.

      @@SlabDynasty I actually researched Longear Sunfish distribution. It appears they exist in NC an area around Raleigh only. However, there is a paper published stating that they do not and never existed in North Carolina at any point historically or present. Makes me wonder if you have stumbled upon something scientifically massive. Might be worth pursuing with the DNR just for the sake of interest/history.

      Fly line is a WF floating and leader is a 9ft 5x I believe.
