    So glad I found this channel. Been playing for years but never any style that required right hand finger techniques. After much contemplation bought a very nice Spanish guitar a week ago and started a new chapter of playing guitar. This channel is just what I need at this time. Thank you.

    I liked ,subcribed,and watched/listened over and over ....You are a Master!! Who inspires naturally, i can,t stop trying what you teach. so for me this is really great! This is a whole new area for me as a bassplayer seeking new challenges to explore on guitar... it feels like holding a totally new instrument in my hands and trying this lesson...i will proceed to practice and nail this lesson until i hopefully get right pfff that right hand of yours!!! when it is getting up to speed.....but ok,.. i know, practice,practice ,practice! thanks for sharing....

    Always wonder why flamenco players say "12" when the actual "1" of the phrase is. The most logic way of counting in my opinion is instead of 12,1,2,3,4,5 | 6,7,8,9,10,11 is this way: 1and 2and 3and, 1and 2and 3and. Or even 1 2 3, 1, 2, 3 and subdividing every beat into sixteenth note in mind ( equivalent of subdividing every beat in traditional counting in half)

      Hey - there are lots of ways of counting that make sense, or even more sense. Probably the single biggest reason we all count this way is that we all count this way :) So if you want to be able to communicate with other flamencos this is the language we use. Doesn't mean it's the best or most logical system, but there's just not much point in fighting it. It's easier to just get used to it.

    I truly like the colour of the flamenco guitar . Do you recommend nylon nail extensions for people ( like me ) who have short nails . ? Thank You . Very interesting lesson . I bought a Yamaha CG-TA Classical , Very Comfortable .

      You definitely want to have nails if at all possible. How long, and whether you want to do an artificial nail or reinforce your own nail, are very personal decisions.

      audioworksstudio That was probably a Neumann km84 through the Apogee Ensemble preamps. The guitar helps too!

      Most of the strumming in flamenco is called Rasgueado.

    Hi kai, in the last compass variantion: ist it a 2 finger rasgueado or 3 finger rasgueado ? Watched it in slow motion an dozens of times but can´t find out ._7 Thanks a lot !

      That's a two-finger rasgueado, which is way more common in a buleria.

    There is a very common buleria phrase that seems to be holding the A with a G and open E (on the high e string). is there is lesson for this?

      That one's a 1977 Conde Hermanos - this model is referred to as a Guitarra de Pozuelo as they were made in the Conde workshop just outside of madrid in a suburb called Pozuelo de Alarcon. They were the model below the professional models, but often are really really good!
