    The voice overs in this video are 100% correct. Been there myself, but with complete training and ratings of commercial, multi-engine and instruments. His only hope was to stop looking around and lock onto those instruments.

      @@thetruth72667 There is a saying of sorts among the flying community that says a pilot without an instrument rating has roughly 30 seconds to live if he flies into something he/she's not equipped to handle. This situation is one of those. He flew into the mist and the dark without any outside reference as to which way was up or down. He had two basic options at that point . . . 1) turn around so he could light from he coast (referred to and the classic 180 degree turn) or 2) be instrument rated. He did/was neither. Flying out over the ocean at dusk is particularly dangerous for a non-instrument rated pilot. Ocean mist and darkness and the horizon disappears and vertigo sets in within seconds leading shortly to a fatal crash, which is exactly what happened. A qualified instrument rated pilot would know to "get inside the aircraft," and to start flying by instruments only. He did not do that, according to this video. If I remember right, it was noted that he was taking IFR training, but that in no way says he was qualified for what he was attempting to do. It takes roughly 50 hours of training just to be able to force yourself to get you eyes inside and locked onto the instruments. It seems and feels counter intuitive to do this . . . after all, the horizon is "out there," not inside. But, for all practical purposes, when the horizon disappears, a pilot without proper training is usually doomed.

      @@dickbudig6693 When he got to Martha's vineyard he made a pass over his mom's house like he always did then he completed his turn to line himself with the airport, stopping his descent at 2200 feet. Because it's against FAA regulations to fly below 2,500 ft without contacting the tower he brought the plane back up to 2,500 ft. At 9:39 he contacted the tower to let them know he was 13miles from the airport & 10miles out from the coast telling them he was on his final approach. He told them he was dropping off his wife's sister & would be taking off again for Hyannis Airport at 11-11:30pm. This was all said when he contacted the tower at 9:39. At 9:40 & 15sec the plane fell, nose dived, out of the sky falling 2,500 feet in 45sec. All this came directly from Coast Guard Petty Officer Todd Burgun!!!
      This sounds like a case of a pilot not being instrument rated therefore he didn't know where he was & crashed? Even if that was the case, which it was not, but if it was why wasn't rescue sent out when he still had not landed 5min after he called in on his final approach? Is it not protocol to do so? Help wasn't sent out for 15hrs! There's also a very very good chance a co pilot was with him. Again I'm just asking cause you obviously know what your talking about & I like hearing it from all sides & your willing to just have a conversation unlike what usually happens on here lol.

In fact JKF Jr wasn't even qualified to fly under instrument flight rules so there's no way he could have crashed based on the plane instruments. Level wings using artificial horizon. PULL hard. Hope! When the little bird WELL into the blue, full power, trim as speed bleeds off." Very very terrifying. Glider training also helps ... When I finally got to take single engine training lessons in a Cessna 152 it scared the s..t out of my instructor doing my usual 60 degree banked turns.
      Years later I noticed that I had reached my limit when flying my Piper Arrow II in marginal night conditions over the ocean and felt that I needed refresher training in unusual flight attitudes. The aerobatic instructor for the Zlin that I rented taught me all the necessary after he had introduced me how to use the parachute. Years later I learned that JFK junior had stopped by to get training with him at just about the same time.
      In my first instrument training lesson I learned to say out loud, when entering instrument conditions "I am entering instrument conditions, I trust the instruments". I think this is the part that was missing.

    The Saratoga plane can only supply fuel through one tank of the two placed symmetrically in the wings. The operational book advises changing tanks every hour as that would load one wing with over 150lbs. inbalance He did not change tanks after one hour flight.
    When he was on automatic pilot, that slight differential weight in the wings was corrected by the automatic system but when he went manual and tried to service other chores of flying, the aircraft banked to the right and pulling up in that state does not recover but tightens the spiral into the lower altitudes. Pushing the wrong digit on the radio frequency selection started the ball rolling.

    why he would publish certain articles that were stupid about john when he was a friend of John's, anything to sell a magazine IMO...but when John heard he was leaving, John wrote him a nice letter wishing him all the best because John was a kind person.

    Here’s my question.. they said jfk jr was a pilot who wasn’t trained using the flights instruments which means he relies on what he sees and that navigates him on wherever he’s trying to fly too...here’s my question.... no disrespect to jfk jr so this is a overall general question... when you become a pilot how in the world can someone become a pilot and not be trained using the instruments in the cockpit??? You would think that’s the first thing you have to do becoming a pilot... the gauges, the instruments and pretty much everything in the cockpit.... in my opinion isn’t communication and being able to read what the cockpit is telling you the most important thing??? Everyone has seen what the cockpit looks like... buttons, lights, gauges, everywhere all over the place... how the hell can I become a pilot without learning the instruments??? Very bazaar too me

      JFK jr. flew VFR, that means visual flight rules and using outside reference points for 90% of the time. The other 10% is checking the instruments. Flying instruments (IFR) only is a whole other level, with no outside references.

    • @johead8516
      @johead8516 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dutchygirl Right.... can you learn 100% of the instruments and then go to outside visual or do you have to learn outside visual first and then instruments? Me personally I’d think about if I’m a visual pilot then things can alter the things you see outside.. like weather, night flying, fog

    • @dutchygirl
      @dutchygirl 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johead8516 Every student learns to fly VFR with outside reference points first. Off course you do your flight preparation to know if there are visual meteorological conditions on your route and for the time that you planned to fly. There can be many reasons to cancel a VFR flight as it comes to safety/changing weather. Night flying could be IFR (on instruments), but also visual (than it's called night-VFR).

    i live on the island, and was here when it happened. it was terrible because it was the shark tournament that weekend, so they had just chummed the waters to attract them (i never heard this mentioned or read it anywhere..). also, Jackie O was living right near where he crashed and while she was waiting for word, stuff was washing up on her beach. horrible. my step-father was a cop in Gay Head where this happened, and it was grim. pretty awful. clearly, he should never have made that trip alone, in the dark, with an injury. hope Carloline enjoyed what she got at the shops that made them 2 hours late. otherwise, this probably never would have happened because it would have been light out.

    He was going to run for Daniel Monihan's empty senate seat and which he would of won easily going against his mother's fears for public office. He named his magazine George. Many people believe George HW was in the picture on the steps of the Dallas school book depository on 11/23/63. When John's plane crashed W Bush was absent from his presidential campaign for three days. Fact. Nobody knew where he was. Fact. Hillary moved to New York and filled the empty seat and became the senator from New York. Fact. It's been 60 years and they still will not release thousands of documents of his father's murder The only thing after all this time they could be protecting is the truth. Robert Kennedy was going to reopen the investigation of his brother's murder after the win in California and almost certain road to the presidency until he went through the kitchen of the Ambassador hotel. Also a lot of artifacts that don't fit the official narrative of human history disappear in the depths of the Smithsonian.

    According to the cell phone records there was a flight instructor on the plane. That's who they were waiting for at the airport for 45 min. . His was the seat that was removed from the plane crash along with his body & other items during the 15.5 hours it supposedly took to locate the plane even though the N-tap was on point they sent search planes way off course to waste time so they can retrieve the flight instructor & his seat then set the auto fuel tanks to off, etc. 15.5 hours the Govt deliberately wasted to conceal the evidence & remove the flight recorder box as well. All the phone calls made to authorities, FAA, Coast Guard, etc are time stamped yet nothing was done for 15.5 hours to attempt to locate the plane in the area even though the radar showed exactly where it went down. See " Dark Legacy II." How did one seat break away from the entire crash site while the other 3 passengers were found strapped in theirs under water at the site? They wanted him dead because he was revealing the "swamp" with "George" magazine among other reasons.
