I don't know how long you have been in electronics but there are better ways at doing stuff. First start with some flux on the board, then while holding the part tack down one leg. More flux than finish the job. No cold solder joints.
Hi Robert -- thanks for the comment! I have been in electronics for over 20 years, starting as a technician and now as an EE working in the semiconductor industry, so yes I am familiar with other methods for soldering. I made this video to really test out the microscope and not so much as a tutorial on the best way to solder.
Does TOMLOV DM10 has PC conection? like HDMI/VGA ? Noticed same microscope and same pictuure you displayed in this video on the site you bought, and someone there says "is the only minus for this microscope that does not have PC connection"! But how did you record this video so clear? With SD Card? thank you!
Does that TOMLOV have a HDMI port? Or a SD memory card slot? Have you tried a similar digital microscope but with a larger screen? Thank you. I thought TOMLOV made a 10" or so unit.
No, this one doesn't have an HDMI port. It uses a microSD card for transferring data. I've found that the card is kind of hard to take out, so I added a piece of tape to mine so it's easier to grab.
That scope recording is smooth as butter!
Got one on order... looks great!
Great video review. Thanks for your sharing.

Exactly. Clean, flux, place, tack, finish soldering, and clean again. I've been repairing electronics since the mid seventies.

There is no video output port (at least none that I know of). My recordings were done using a micro SD card and the built in recording software.
@@electronicswithemrys Thank you very much for reply, and useful info!

@@electronicswithemrys ok thank you! I think the larger size TOMLOV may have an HDMI port to hook up to a larger screen.
i want to buy TOMLOV DM401,how is it,do you know ?
No, I'm afraid I have only purchased this microscope.
@@electronicswithemrys ok thank you,i bought andonstar 208s,a lot person says about it "it is good microscope",thank you
Good video, but need flux.
