dongle berry is such a calm bull! that is a the type of a bull that you need in a herd, great video, sorry for the bitter cold. that stinks, hard to get warmed up after being out side for most of the day.
Idk if he was hand raised or not but he is definitely a gentle giant and we have always treated him well for the 3 years we have had him so he puts up with us
The 1066 originally came with two six volt batteries. When we got it it had one 12 volt battery I switched it over to two 12 volt batteries for better cranking power.
Yeah that’s why we usually use the 1066 is to be able to haul 2 but the bale spear wasn’t on the loader so I just did the one at a time should need to get the grapple we have for it on
As a retired heavy equipment and big trucks mechanic, just a little enlightening to the battery placement. You get more cold cranking amps out of two six volts, so it turns longer but not as fast. You get the fastest cranking from the12 volts but not S long.i wish I could still mechanic,, but I do good to full time farm at 64 .
love dingleberry he is such a calm lad like most Herefords are , i have Herefords and have some , so easy to work with i think , be glad when we start seeing a few signs of spring soon expect you are too
I’m getting worried about the weather to come we are looking at 60s next week and for us in February that usually means it’s gonna get real cold real fast with a lot of rain right before so ice everywhere but maybe it will just stay warm and it will be an early spring
@@knappfarms that sounds nasty what you might have coming i hope you don't get it that bad , its been cold and dry here it the south of the UK but not the cold you seem to get slight frost at night with -2or-4c or( 23f ) and 46f in the day , i hope to start putting Nitrogen fertilizer on the grass for silage in about 4 weeks time , I hope we both get a early spring 🤞 , forecast here next week is rain and milder , hope we stay InTouch really enjoy talking with you
Yeah February for us is normally never above freezing we would normally be out on a lake ice fishing lol its awesome hearing from viewers all over the world thanks for the comment always interested in farmer’s views from everywhere in the world we all have a lot in common
We will for sure keep him one more season after that he may be looking for a new home so we can keep back his daughters but he is definitely a good bull
Mostly good starters sometimes when it gets real bitter cold we will plug them in but didn’t on any of these in the video the 1086 is usually good down to about 0 then it needs a little help below that
hi nice video very cold there that hay looks old but the cows pick it over do you cover them and give the corn and grain, also where is this farm im in hadley ma and very cold here thanks,
I really appreciate your work ethic
Good day from Ontario, Boy those tractors started good. Boy the bull is really tame. Thanks
That's a pretty farm especially with the snow. It's nice all the tractors fired up in the cold.
It is good to see Dingleberry he looks so relaxed
Dingleberry and the girls are still looking great. Need to see more of your bull riding !

Dinglberry must have been hand raised, he has no fear of you and seems to like you. To me that's a caring owner treating his cattle with care. Be safe

Thanks for sharing!
That is my next tractor, 1066 with front loader. Stay away from the either, it's like crack for diesels
If you can find a hydro and don’t plan on pulling heavy tillage equipment they are definitely worth it for a loader tractor just a little pricey lol

Does well and starts right up - especially for the low temps.
When I was a lot younger (20’s-30’s) I had to haul hay, 2 bales at a time, about 1 1/2 miles. No fun. Turn 60 bought a cab tractor, best move I made.

Thanks for the explanation never looked into it enough to know that I guess

@@knappfarms i so agree with you in that
I have so much respect for farmers like you, going out in the bitter cold, when I sometimes don't even want to go out for my daily 30-minute walk.
Nice job. Dingleberry is a sweetie. You should have your Aunt on one of your videos 😁
You should keep dingleberry little bit longer says he's a good 🐂
We will for sure keep him one more season after that he may be looking for a new home so we can keep back his daughters but he is definitely a good bull
Nice bull
Do your tractors start good when it’s cold or do you plug them in? We got some that start good and some that start hard.
Mostly good starters sometimes when it gets real bitter cold we will plug them in but didn’t on any of these in the video the 1086 is usually good down to about 0 then it needs a little help below that
@@knappfarms well that’s a good thing 👍
😱 at 9:00 - surprised the whole barn didn’t blow as much un-burnt fuel was atomized into the air during that forever cranking. 😂
I love them ih tractors. You should buy 2 12 volts batteries for your 856.
I’m sure once these go bad we will that’s what we did with the 1066
@@knappfarms Nothing wrong with that. We are all cheap lol
Yea I had a bull like that never ever had any problem with him until he ran over me beware my friend!, it’s a international it will start 🤣🤣
I bet the air conditioning works good this time of year
Our 806 you have to give it a little snort if either to start when it's cold
Great job

We are in north west Indiana
Had a hydro 100 loved but below 30 degrees better plug in heater don’t like starting fluid
I’m amazed this one doesn’t mind the cold really I’m sure when it gets down to 0 the block heater will get some use
Ride em cowboy
I am in Arizona and any time the temp is below 100 it's cold LOL
😂 I’ll take our winters over your summer though I don’t mind some cold but I don’t like it when it’s 100+
@@knappfarms I was born and raised in Chicago. I know what cold is like
Yeah it’s a little chilly out today lol
-6 now, a tad better then-17 in the AM. we await an early spring.
@@Applw.60 yeah that’s cold
Yeah this last week I think we had some 0 temps with well below that wind chill
@@knappfarms oh yeah us too
IH tractors always start better in the cold than the Deere's
Definitely these started better then a lot of the new deeres I see on TH-cam
Do you have glow plugs on your tractors?
No I think anything after the 06 series is when IH quit with glow plugs
You do know they still
Make heat housers lol!
😂 so I know we don’t have hoods and I act like I don’t care how things look but I hate the look of them and seeing out of them
dingle berry
Where's your Mountain Dew?
Traded it for a Miller lite
