I would recommend the manga over the anime - the anime has to slow the pacing down to a crawl to avoid catching up to the manga, so scenes that should take seconds are stretched out to minutes with reaction shots and unnaturally long pauses. If you must go animated, there is a fan project called One Pace I've heard good things about
Came here to say this. Or wait for the re animated version with no filler
The manga is the only way to go imo, greatest work of fiction ever
The manga is also pretty accessible to get into, at least in the states. The Shonen Jump app has the entirety of One Piece (with the first three and latest three chapters free) alongside other series like Dragon Ball and Naruto for 3 bucks a month. Your local public library may also have manga volumes in stock if you prefer to read them physically. I read the entire Naruto run, thanks to my library!
There à kai version of the anime
Yea but if you dont like to read the anime is fine
The One Piece manga keeps everything tight and impactful, while the anime sometimes drags with filler and slow pacing, especially in critical arcs. Plus, the manga is super accessible and easy to dive into. It’s a great way for newcomers to really enjoy the series!
"My treasure? It's yours if you can find it! Everything is right where I left it!"
And he died with a smile on his face. Like the King he was.
Every marathon starts with the first step
Meaning watch one piece lol
Also I hope that we’re gonna get a neck piece for Zoro so that the fig could hold the third sword in his “mouth”
A neck accessory with a clip would be so useful
I picked a great time to start watching One Piece! Currently at the Water 7 Arc.
It only gets better from there.
Water 7 is great, you’re gonna witness more amazing arcs trust me!
(Currently at Fishman Island)
Me and my Parents just started watching the show, we're big fans of Lego so this is very exciting for us.
THE ONE PIECE IS REALLLLLLL
No sh*t Sherlock -_-
@@alitafullarmor5957and it's lego yeahhhhj
Can we get much higher
My biggest question is just how they're going to handle Zoro. I hope we get a custom head mold of him holding the sword with his teeth.
That would be nice
They already make a clear piece that sits between the head and body and it will hold something infront of the mouth. You hardly see it. My guess is they will use that for Zoro.
@@jerricho11 I wasn't aware of that.
And I just started watching the One Piece Anime. Currently around episode 180.
I've been brainstorming a fan Lego One Piece video game for years now, it's just a matter of time
I don't see any comments yet so "Um Actually its the second because LEGO Already did Speed Racer"
Now that this is TECHNICALLY opening the door to LEGO anime sets, I'd LOVE to see Evangelion get LEGO sets. They could 100% make it work, and LEGO LOVES to make mech sets, so it'd be a really solid fit. You could make all of the main EVA Units, some of the Angels, and maybe some of NERV HQ. And if people think it's "too mature" for LEGO, I'd like them to take a look at LEGO's catalog of IPs they've covered, and also they could just make it an 18+ theme.
can't wait for the Shinji with jizz on his hand set...
I think there's a possibility that the 18+ set could be an anime-based set based on the Thousand Sunny - the Merry doesn't really need to be an 18+ set if you shrink it down a little. If they still have that Pinocchio head mold that would be perfect for an anime Usopp figure. As for the other sets, I think we may get Garp's ship as a set since we did get a lot of scenes with it.
IM SO EXCITED FOR THE NEW ONE PIECE SEASON AND THE LEGO SETS
I think the 3400 piece set will be Baratie, and the reason it's 18+ is the bar. I'm also certain that another one will be Arlong Park, because one of the leaked pieces is a green variant of Usopp's bandana and hair, and the only time he wore a green bandana in the show was at Arlong Park.
The sets could be scenes specifically from the live action or the beginning of the anime/manga like the going merry set the crews ship, or the baratie set of the dinner sea boat
Very impressive mancave/toybox you got there. Everything looks so clean. How do you keep the dust off and out of all your sets just sitting out in the open?
If anyone wants to get in to One Piece id highly recommend the manga over the anime. The anime just has really rough pacing with sometimes half an episode of filler at the most agregious parts. The manga just dosnt have that problem and can be easily found online.
That’s the case with every long running Anime like DBZ, One Piece, etc….. But you never know what people might like or dislike. We can only wait and see what unfolds.
One Pace madood. It's a condensed version that cuts unnecessary time fillers.
Watch one pace, it’s a shortened version of one piece, don’t know where to find it though
RIP to the missed detail during the Arlong Park Arc
2:58 No, One Piece has very little filler, but they slow the pacing down so that they can make one chapter into one episode. The manga right now is a whole arc ahead of the anime, so they wouldn’t need tot do that
I think Buggy might be good as a construction figure. Will allow him to split into parts that still retain their shape and "function." Wouldn't scale with the Minifig sets though. Minifig scale, best bet might have to be like the Zane in the Zane Combiner Mech
I want Lego and TT Games to make a Lego One Piece video game, but the question would be which version they want the Lego One Piece video game to be based on, whether the Anime or the Live-Action. And the Story Mode of the Lego One Piece game would be from East Blue to Wano.
Actually, the filler percentage in the anime is pretty low. It’s only caught up so many times, and each time hasn’t deviated for long. Including right now! It’s about to get back to adapting canon material very soon.
Whatever route you choose, though, I thoroughly hope you enjoy your One Piece journey!
the bad pacing is more of a problem than filler. you can skip filler but you can't skip a 20 minute episode that adapts 10 pages of one chapter with 10 second reaction breaks between every line of dialogue.
I hope merry floats, i know it’s a long shot but it would be really cool to see
Since this is technically an anime line, i hope lego continues making anime lego sets. I would love to see a mha theme or dbz theme.
This is something i've saying for a while now. One piece is a ridiculously good IP to adapt into a lego set wave. Very popular; outselling Spider-Man and batman and is closing in right behind superman. Extremely huge in various countries such france and of course japan. Even making its way into french textbooks. Incredibly open to product collaborations. You can find one piece brand products on almost anything. Large cast of unique characters with multiple outfits. Great for minifigures. You have many iconic ships so for those who are tired of mechs and cars now there's a different vehicle you can make a build out of. If you're one of those people who still like building mechs you have the general franky. And cherry on top are the myriad of distinct locations and architecture. Each arcs has a completely new setting that are vastly different from each other. You don't have to worry about a monotonality. Not only that you also have great buildings. There are neverending possibilities for sets designs. You have way more potential here with one piece than any other anime properties. That is way for years its been my go to contender for which anime property should get a lego set adaptation first. Still hope they do regular one piece sets though as that has way more potential, especially with colora. The live action doesn't has a much potential as with manga version.
While I know nothing about this IP, I’m just excited for all the parts & minifigures the theme is gonna introduce. Some of these minifigure designs might just look cool out of context.
The manga is the true story, the anime is an adaptation. The live action show is also an adaptation but with the direct oversight of the Mangaka Echiiro Oda. Looks like Lego got the IP to the live action series.
in the year?? the year just started!
Read the manga. It’s absolutely incredible, I consider one of the greatest works of fiction of all time, and it is even the most popular. Make sure you don’t drop it before along park as that is where it gets REALLY good.

The anime is sooooo good. Love the live action too
Don't let the episode count dissuade you from watching. It's absolutely not all filler and it's currently on a 6 month break until April. Episodes are 15-20 minutes without into/outtro and ads. Just do it
The sets are likely going to have some based on the new season so maybe something from Alabasta
Hopefully, Lego starts making more anime themes. I would like to see Cowboy Bebop and Akira sets.
I feel like if Lego eventually wants to dip their toes into the manga/anime, the series has such a huge cast that it'd be nearly impossible to cover even the most memorable characters through full sets, buuuuuuuut would be absolutely perfect for doing as CMF series
if you are to get more into one piece I recommend the manga just so you can get through it faster. but the anime is amazing to. the pacing is a bit bad but there actually isn't much filler in it!
8:42 you could get away Johnny thunder face think about it ;)
Let’s goooo
How are we building a Lego set with ‘one piece’ tho 🤨
DuckBricks stays based with the Attack on Titan take
Just set a mark at a point in the show and watch an episode when you get a chance and once you’ve hit the mark make a new one and do that over and over again until you catch up that’s how I got to episode 642
Now Ninjago is the shortest Lego show
At the beginning we got ghost duck bricks
I hope at that at least the 18+ set is the Merry or Sunny from the anime.
Can't wait for the big mom big fig
I think 1300 pieces set will be with going Merry
im begging theres a set with the sea monster and shanks and luffy or sum i NEED my goat shanks as a minifig
I'd highly recommend watching the Netflix live action before checking out the anime if you are not an anime fan yourself. If you like the live action your love the anime ❤
ONE PIECE BATTLE PACK!
Buggy could use the new prosthetic arm piece from the current CMF
I was worried that we’d end up with None Piece.
what?
I hope there are figs for Arlong and Tony Tony Chopper
I want sunny set
Finaly the lego one piece is REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ummm...
No shit Sherlock?
Could this open the idea possibility of lego kill la kill someday hmmm
This guy’s Lego collection 💀
your lego content is way above other channels, how do you only have 174k subs?
Stretch my arms !
I've never watched one piece but I might buy some of the sets
Me getting into it was weird. I started reading it when it first was being released in Shonen Jump alongside a bunch of other manga at the time. DBZ was why I got Shonen Jump in the first place. I read about 100 characters of it. Fast forward to the live action debut and I started watching it but after an episode decided to show it to my girl who doesn't really like anime but loved this so much that she decided to get us into the card game. After all that we decide to watch the anime but it was overwhelming with 1000+ episodes at the time. Now 1100+ we started with what the internet said was the best arc, Marineford. It didn't disappoint. So we jumped from arc to arc depending on what online fans have posted but now I'm going back through and watching it all and that really is the best way. Just start watching from episode 1 or reading from chapter 1 and don't skip. At any time you feel like it sucks or you are bored just bare through it because that payoff is much better.
I LOVE ONE PIECE 😍😍😍😍( over NINJAGO Lmao)
can we get much higher?
Top three for me: Arlong park, crocodile fight, honorable mention the thousand sunny, and number one Kaidi vs gear five Luffy which is hopefully the 18+ set
All the sets are based in the live action so we wont get any anime sets but I hope that 18+ will be Baratie
@ yeah, I think Lego would be able to sell more though if they would just do it based off of the anime
@@marioserrano975 if they dont do the going merry they are actually insane and are allergic to money.
@Jaxon-k6q if they dont base it off the anime I straight up wont buy any set, but I mainly just want an anime based going merry and I would easily pay 300 for this. If its based off the live action like all the leaks say... looks like im saving 300 bucks! xd
Imagine if they made a Lego set based on "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" anime. This could become the next "Adventure" theme. Live action One Piece is maybe going to become the next "Pirates" theme.
No,
the anime doesn't actually have a lot of filler, the problem is the pacing, they stretch (no pun intended) a lot of scenes as much as possible
Lego piece is real
Lego announced it, so of course it is real...
There BETTER be Shanks and Mihawk minifigs.
Its not too long. it’s TOO SHORT!🗿🗿🗿
Baratiea seat for biggest set
Mary second set
Im gonna crash out if they don't give us 30$ going merry and 18+ going merry
As an anime watcher and manga reader. I get the live action an 8/10. Very much worth the watch to get into One Piece if you don’t want to watch 1000+ episodes.
lego One Piece will be the stone that broke the dam to ALL the Anime LEGOS! Naruto, Demon Slayer, Berserk!, Gundam, Bible Black!
Can we get much higher?
Give Usopp his nose back live action
Just because there are 1000 episodes doesnt mean you have to watch them all at one time. It took 25 years to get where we are.
"its too long" Then why start a show that will take 10-15 year to catch up if it ever even goes past season 3.
Bro turned invisible
i love the live action so this is good news and marks the first anime to be made into lego (hopefully jojos gets a good live action at some point..)
Your friends are wrong about the anime but I would wait until the re release at this point.
You should definitely read the manga since you liked the live action. Also that is 100% false that the anime is mostly filler. I've watched most of the anime and I've been a fan for years. In terms of filler episodes, I'd say it's probably around 5% of the series. It's more like the episodes themselves really drag things out at times.
i know people harp on the anime but. the biggest problems of pacing come from specific later arcs. the beginning and the present episodes are great. the anime has a Varity of filler mostly skippable with some rare gems like G5, the Logue Town bar scene, or the Sanji salt episode. either way the moment you come aboard you'll wish it lasted even longer. If you don't you can stop whenever you want.
I effing called it
One piece is going to be day 1. I read the weekly manga
Can't wait to not be able to pay $360 for a really great lego set
if its live action going merry than who the fuck cares man, if its anime/manga going merry YOU BET IM PAYING 300!!!!
3400 pieces seems too big for Merry. Either two ships, or arlong park imo. Maybe merry at the baratie. Would be great if it's a giant thousand sunny but that's not even close in live action version
i mean, i’d you look at small merry mocs, they’re around 2500 pieces.
so a minifigure scale one, with interiors, for 3400 makes sense.
Urg, as a One Piece fan I really wanna be excited for a lego set, but because it´s Lego I´m very doubtful they´ll be worth it :/
3:10 Honestly i can agree with you there.
Attack On Titan's ending did kinda kill all interest i had in it. :/
My predictions are the $30 is either luffys origin scene in the bar with shanks and the bandits or buggys circus tent
the $50 then being either buggys circus tent or the baratie
the $80 set being either the baratie or kayas mansion or arlong park
and then the $100 either being arlong park or the going merry
As for the 18+ set, I've heard rumours that it could actually be based on the anime/manga so if true I think it could be the 1000 sunny, that being the current ship the straw hats use, something which could back this rumour up is that lego have achieved a popular 1000 sunny set on ideas for being too similar to sets they are going to make when they haven't done this for other ideas based on the one piece anime. Now this could mean nothing and could just be because the 1000 sunny idea was the one with the most traction but there could be something there. If the rumours of the 18+ set being based on the anime are false though then my guess is its just going to be the going merry
No the 18+ will be the going merry, if they want an accurate minifigure scale ship they must use atleast 3k pieces for it. I have the fortnite battle bus which sold for 100 bucks and has 954 pieces... its small. As for an accurate thousand sunny, it would require 10k+ pieces to be minifigure scale. Yea they could dumb it down but for comparison a fan did a MOC build of the thousand sunny and he roughly used 15k pieces, it has a working soldier dock system and everything! A 3k pieces thousand sunny would just be dishonorable and would look horrible. Although a 3k pieces going merry... count me in! But only if its anime/manga based like some of the rumors say the 18+ set will be. Now all of this is IF Lego does minifigure scale and not micro scale ships, 3k piece micro sunny would totally work but it wouldnt fit minifigures and would be sad :(
Hope to see just One Piece in a polybag 😭🙏🏼
The og
Most of it is not filler
Good
So does Naruto need a live action show in order to get LEGO sets?
I recommend the One piece anime there's really not that much filler whoever says so is exaggerating because of the length of the series plus you can always skip the filler it's that simple.
yeah i think most people are waiting for the anime remake that should come out in the span of a year, i personally cannot reccomend the original anime to other people
You should read the manga and just watch some of the fights
is it save for you to talk about rumors tho
I don’t think the Going Merry will be the 3400 piece set. For starters the ship in both the anime and live action is a lot smaller than a lot of other ships in universe so I think 1300 pieces and a $100 dollar price tag seems logical for that ship. I also think that Lego is trying to appeal to most age groups with this theme so making the most iconic thing from the series be a $300+ set only for adults seems strange. I think the Merry will be the $100 set while the 18+ will be the Baratie
1300 pieces is just too small, I have the fortnite battle bus here for comparison, it has 954 pieces so only 350 difference and I just cant see it being minifigure scale with that low amount of pieces, If the going merry is the 18+ set and is based off anime/manga I will 100% buy it though.
@ I get what you’re saying but 3400 pieces is also wayy to much for just a going merry build, I’ve seen MOCS of it that consist of 1.800 or so pieces and seeing how Lego tend to downscale things a bit I could see the merry being the 1300 piece set at the end of the day we’ll just have to wait and see when the sets get revealed and nonetheless I’m probably gonna buy all of them lol
@ yea sadly if its live action based I will be buying none of them anyways so who cares XD, but like I said 3400 going merry would make it perfect. I just looked up mocs and the first one I found is a micro scale merry with 1900 pieces, also this merry has brickbuilt sales which lego doesn't (usually?) do. So yea a minifig scale could easily be almost double that.
@@claytonbarnes6644 I don’t see why you wouldn’t buy them just cause they’re live action. They’re the same thing but with different details in some areas (like the going merry goat head) the only bad thing is we won’t get any of the other straw hats other than the originals and no thousand sunny
@@marioserrano975 The going merry figurehead is exactly what I think of when I say I wouldn't buy it if its live action. Sorry not my cup of tea and ill be saving 300 bucks if its not exactly the way I want it :D but I hope you enjoy the sets!
Is Monkie Kid’s show considered Anime? Pretty sure it’s a western show, borrowing heavily from anime.
