I got to mess with NR on a Linear Gamma node. The results are fantastic. Combined with targeting chroma over luma like I usually do, it does a great job of taming the most noticeable noise while barely pushing the intensity. I'm going to experiment with using RGB vs Lab color model using Linear Gamma on specific channels to see what I get.
Yes. I tried this too and the difference was huge. I needed much less NR on a linear node than a regular node and the results were much more malleable.
Thanks again for all this great content Cullen. Don't suppose you could do a Grade School on various strategies about Colour Separation? I've followed your approach using Split Toneing and found it extremely useful. But are there other methods? Using Printer Lights perhaps? I've tried this, but can't seem to get the detailed fenesse required to make this work for me. Am i missing something? Not a prob if not possible Cullen. Appreciating everything you are putting out, although i have to admit, some of it is doin' my 'ed in!
the only thing that i may suggest to you is to pre record your films and upload it in better quality, really subject of noise reduction is pointless in this level of video footage on youtube. otherwise, great job as always :)
Great infos like always, getting gready each time for more lessons 😂, Can we talk about QC! Sometimes you get a footages with clipped highlights, so if you pullednit back it would look mushy, so i gotta keep it as is , For the shad therse some low sigals that go beneath 64IRE What would be acceptable and what would be not? I grabed some stills from company3 commercials and noticed therse some signals above and underneath QC 🤔

This is a great idea.
Try the color warper- set one color then pin it and pull complementary hues almost anywhere you want.
