Hello, was thinking of doing a install like this and came a cross your video. Did you buy the one that had the tilt button, open etc. but used your existing digit unit and buttons, and just wired power to the motor via the switch? Im thinking of getting one, but not sure if it would matter what "version". Or if there are differences at all. Looking at one sold complete with digit display, tilt button, open/close, etc.

Is the wiring difficult to do to tablet? What do I need? I have already automated opening OEM glovebox with empty space for my incoming tablet, but I am not electrician..

Do you have a tutorial vid?! 🙏especially one that folds down so it becomes part of the dash. Anyone looking in would see an old radio and not try to break into your car... It's a well hidden contraption! 🙏

when you bought the car, was the display allready installed or have you put it in afterwards ? ... because i have bought a display/monitor but i dont know how to install it without the original cables,, i would yust like to use it for normal radio
Hey dude I have a question, do you charge your tablet through the usb port on the grom adaptor or you use another source to charge it? and if you use the usb port do you have any problem having the aux and the usb connected to the tablet at the same time? Thanks
yeah, I charge it using the grom USB. although i would reccommend using a different charger as doesnt charge it quick enough. Somthing I am going to do soon.

I'm looking to do this to my 6, I'm struggling to find the sat nav housing but I'll keep trying, I also need to buy the tablet, the only problem is I don't know what size tablet fits into the sat nav housing! I want to get the tablet now to get everything set up ready for when I got the housing, can't you let me know which size tablet fits? 7" 8" 10.1" etc, cheers!
Just like mine! I mean almost.... to use the nav display buttons is not hard at all.... I use the factory controler .... check out mine... I install about a year ago

yeah, I had to buy the sat nav mechanism to do this build.. I simply pulled the screen from the sat nav out and replaced it with the tablet. hope this helps.

I bought a Grom adaptor with jack plug input lead. it runs straight from the headphone output. had to trim the plug abit as it was a tight fit.

With the app Tasker I told the tablet to turn off when no power is detected. Also you can tell it to turn off when it detects the device is face down.
