Isn't it always the same.....we get so anxious for our little ones....especially when they can't talk to us....glad to hear that all is well....Love from Scotland💞🐴🐎
Oooooh, what a scare! When I saw his behaviour in the box I immediately thought it had to be his tummy. It looks like he's tightening up his midriff along with the other things you mentioned. My second thought was that he reminds me of when one of my bunnies have gas and are close to GI stasis. They are in SO much pain from the gas! I do something as simple as elevate their butt and gently "shake" their little tummy to help the gas move along. As bunnies and horses digestive tracts are so similar, that was my initiate reaction, because there have been changes in his environment, so that would probably be something I tried while waiting for the vet (plus of course the vet call! I would have been beside myself with worry at his behaviour inside!) When you said that he like to ingest rocks and gravel I was so worried along with you! It looked like he was feeling a lot better after the walk to the barn, though? I am so glad he's okay and thank you for the information about ulcers, I did not know that! Once again thank you for sharing these videos. You do a great service to the equine community!
I was so worried when I read the title of your video, it was oh no something is wrong with Manzer like he was my little foal. I hope he is ok now and is getting big and strong. xx
Oh how interesting. I am learning more and more as I enjoy watching this sweet little guy grow. ❤️ I have little to no experience with horses other than loving them as beautiful animals. I’ve really been enjoying these videos.
Arwh. Poor little guy. First diarrhea, then ulcers. He has a remarkable sweet temperament, even when in pain/discomfort, though. And so patient with the kiddies. He‘ll grow into a wonderful companion.
Brandi I love seeing the kids interacting with your horses, but with Manzer was the sweetest. Enjoying this journey with Nika and Manzer. Your son is so cute he just cracks me up. Thanks again. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Wow I am really impressed with this little guy. He didn’t care at all when your son was hitting the tree making a series of loud sounds that would typically cause some flinching. And he is so calm around all those children petting him. I am so happy he’s ok. Probably was an ulcer issue, and like the vet said, that condition often overlooked, but not by you! You do a wonderful job taking care of your horses and your family, too. Thanks for sharing.
Poor Manzer, he looked so uncomfortable. Like with little kids who aren't verbal yet it's scary when they can't tell you where they hurt. You & your amazing vets make a great team. Thanks for the video, learning something new & interesting all the time!
Oh Thank God you knew the symptoms to look out for . So glad that was diagnosed quickly and wow after first dose ;he was better.already Great thinking and smarts Brandi give yourself a BIG Pat on your back . ❤💖😊p.s. he is adorbs😁😃💖💖💖💖
I don’t think the rocks are doing him any favours. But what a delightful equine soul it’s just a joy to see him surrounded by children.💖. And such lovely little kids who clearly respect animals.
Thank you so much for sharing this little guy with us! He brings a smile to my face, and joy to my heart, every time I see his precious little face.💙And those eyelashes!!!! They would make most women jealous🙋♀️!!
What a cute wee guy! Looks likes he's half swallowed a wig with all the fuzz at his mouth! So adorable! So pleased he picked up after the ulcer treatment. All those kids around Manzer and he's standing there like a champ soaking up all the attention - such a lovely temperament. Btw, Bode is your double, Brandi! Keep the awesome vids coming...really enjoying watching this wee foal thrive. 😊
He is so sweet and obviously close to his human's family. I can understand how worrying it can be to see them unwell not knowing what the problem is. Good that he soon got better 😍
Manzer is a beautiful little guy. Thank you for posting this video. I loved it. I am so glad you were able to treat him for ulcers in case he had them. BTW, I did go to the Minnesota State Fair. I only went there for the horses. They had bars on the stables, so you could only get your arm in so far. That was enough for me to be able to touch them. I came across some really friendly horses, but I had a favorite. He didn't have his name posted and he was standing sideways toward the back of the stall. No one was paying any attention to him. I got his attention and he came to where I was. I proceeded to pet what I could through the bars, and then he bent down and fluttered is mouth on the hand I was petting him with. I was thrilled. A couple of other horses did the same. Before leaving the barn, I made sure I stopped by his stall again. All I had to say to him was, "I'm back!" and he came right over to me. He did the same with fluttering his lips in my hand, and then he starting pinching my hand a little with the edge of his teeth. I started laughing and I called him a little stinker. That said, this will be the very last trip to the fair for me. The other things I might have wanted to see was too far to walk and the food prices were just terrible. Needless to say it was too crowded and so we decided to leave. I thought of the one who pinched my hand a little and I went to sleep smiling, and I had to giggle out loud too. In my next life, I will have horses - not a doubt in my mind.
Such fun watching Manzer engage in his surroundings. Beautiful and a heart to match. So cute as he watched your son hit the tree. I chuckled to think what was.going on in Manzer's mind. What a special gift you have in him. 💙💙💙💙💙💙
Awe, poor Manzer. I have been busy with other stuff lately. I have some catching up to do on your videos. I saw the headline and got really worried. Happy he is doing better. Now I have to go back and see what I missed. Thank you.🙏❤🐎🐎
My first thought was ulcers as well, the very moment I saw his behaviour, even before you mentionend what the vet at the clinic told you over the phone. Having a horse prone to ulcers myself, I instantly saw the indicators: excessive licking and chewing, rocking back on the hindlegs and some others. I recommend watching the Videos of Dr. Marc DePaolo. He shows how to check for ulcers with accupressure points on the horse. Works everytime in my horse. Everytime he reacted on these spots the vet later one diagnosed ulcers.
Manzer is such a sweet little guy. I'm so glad you found nothing seriously wrong with Manzer sounds like ulcer guard is doing the trick. It's bad when they can't tell you what's wrong.
@@VersatileHorsemanship What a lovely colt, he is so soft and gentle, he's into humans already and so much interested in what you are doing. I don't know if this is a strange option, but can an animal communicator 'ask' Manzer what is/ was bothering him? It's not "hokus pokus" they communicate by visualizing and on the thelepatic level wich is the heart/ soul. Sorry for my grammar, I'm dutch ;-)
Sure is great to see the interaction between Manzer and the children. Loving these videos 🤠 thanks for sharing your journey. and as for Nika - well what a wonderful gorgeous horse she is too 😃
Poor baby. It hurt me watching him stand and paw. You could tell he had some discomfort. Glad the ulcer guard helped. We had a little dog that always liked rocks. Once we had to take him to the vet because of stomach issues. Turned out they had to do surgery to get rocks out of his stomach that showed up on xray. Manzer is such a sweet and gentle colt. I can tell he is going to be an awesome horse.
Ahhhhhh! He's so cute! I love watching animals interact with kids. He's right at home with them. It's just so cute ❤️😍 and he's so fancinated by them! I was just having a conversation with the folks at my barn about wanting to know what they're thinking! I was watching and wanting to know what he was thinking about 😂. Made my day! ☺️☺️☺️☺️🥰😍 Glad he's feeling better and it was a simple fix and not that he ate a dang rock! LOL
Glad to see he's doing much better first off I was concerned he just wore himself out trying to stand then eat, mom didnt seem to intrested in him. I kept wanting to help him poor little guy. Alls well thats ends well
Such a sweet pea ..I see a long relationship with the two boys. funny how he was more interested in the stick wacking than the cat. Typical little boy.lol. He's beautiful.
I didn't know foals got ulcers. I thought it was some kind of a colic issue as he was tucked up in his stomach as well as showing signs of pain. I am glad he is feeling better. He is a sweet foal he is going to grow up into a horse that loves children!
Hi. He is adorable but one thing stall needs a big cushy bed of straw from experience with TB foals. If you do not mind me saying. Hope he is doing better x❤💪🐎
Sheiona Finn I completely agree and there is straw in the stall, Manzer prefers to lay in the corner between when I’m standing and where he’s standing. I only put the straw in that corner because the mare is very messy and wasteful. You can see it toward the end of the video when I’m sitting in the straw with him.
Sweet little baby Manzer! No more rocks for you mister...😨 Nice to see he feels better. I could only imagine seeing him feeling sick and not knowing why - kinda like when your own baby is sick...😶
rushed right to the comments to see if he was ok😨😨😨 I didn't think foals got ulcers but with the bucket scare then the electric fence shock it could have stunted his little tummy into one🤔🤔🤔wonder if when you start training him if he will need a light ulcer care feeding program to go with it?🤔🤔🤔guess you'll find out when you halter train him...
Waited all evening until after work to get to watch this after seeing it post. I don't have children so does this foal rearing feel similar to that? Have a great night, Laural
Those darn horses give the owners an ulcer. Sometimes I'm happy my babies spend summer out on 200acres with a band of mares lots of other babies and a stud, and I don't get to see them for 3 months or worry about them. Less ulcers for me lol
Is he losing his baby fur? The 1 month old foal at the barn where I ride is losing her baby coat and it is actually very dark (its shedding around her nose, eyes and some bits on her legs), we think she'll be a sorrel or dun (grulla, maybe other color) since she has a dark stripe down her back, and the spots on her legs where the baby fur is shedding is almost black. she'll be a beautiful horse :)
I just thought; you said he eats rocks every chance he gets; I looked up PICA; I wonder if he is anemic a little bit? (but PICA isn't always because of anemia) & the rocks make his belly hurt? Maybe the rocks scratch the lining of his belly.....It would seem like he would throw up then, but ??? because horses chew the cud, do horses have 2 bellies?? It's a long shot, but I thought I'd bring it to your attention......& the fact that he gets tired, but seemingly won't lay down, I thought pain somewhere..(that's what I thought I saw at first) Hope this may help a little.....don't know, tho.......
Do foals normally sleep laying down or is this unusual. Poor little guy. He's been doing so well. Further into this video I can see how he is definitely uncomfortable.
