This is so beautiful. It is a museum quality machine. I think it looks more beautiful than a modern day Mercedes.

Things have changed a lot over the years, this is my MOS 12N. Today we use the D7R’s but These old machines are awesome.

If I ever buy a dozer, it must have a cable operated blade :-)

That thing is seriously badass!! I’d love the opportunity to run it for even a few minutes 👍🏼

We had one when I was a kid. A 4T with Letourneau dozer control unit. Under yellow paint was Army green with red grease fittings. Dad didn't like the control unit and replaced it with a Cat 25 CCU. Pulled a Letourneau pan with it then parked that and started using a Cat 60 pan. I ran that thing for some 12 years until we bought a 14A D8.

And then you go to a vid where the operator is commenting on the GPS guidance system occasionally having a glitch, or the AC doesn't blow cold enough in the climate controlled cab. The guy on the controls of this nice old 7 could out-grade a fair bit of the talent out there today.
Interesting set of grouser pads on that machine.

The year I was born! If you watch,"Victory at Sea",- the Rings around Rabaul, segment,Rafael,, see those Seabees, build, an airbase from scratch, and watch those cat tractors sit up and beg, you've seen them in real action! (Delete-Rafael). The fact that one or two survived,is a testament to their strength, and could that be duplicated today?? Good question,no answer????

Admittedly, it's an old US Army tractor, but it still does its job well! PS: Remember to wear noise canceling headphones and sunglasses when you spend long days under the sun working on this machine to avoid damaging your eyes and ears.🙂
