They definitely have had an inconsistent portrayal across 40k media. In some games they are like short range las cannons that fire beams and in others they are basically shotguns that will obliterate anything in range. Still one of my favorite weapons though.

@@danialzulkifli5416 At least in lore, i don't believe loyalist space marines use autocannons as portable weapons on terminators and devastators due to how synonymous they are with Choas space marines. I don't think even the primaris use them except the suppressors so we might end up seeing new classes come bundled with the new weapons. They did a great job of adding basically the full roster of primaris weapons though, only a handful are missing and one or two are probably hidden for launch. I can't imagine a game with tyranids not having a hand-flamer, flamer and heavy flamer as weapons.
If you ever played the firs game you know that the sensation of shooting a Bolter is the best among all shooters. There´s something in the shooting cadance and sound design that makes it feel heavy and real. Looking foward to test all those new weapons, FOR THE EMPEROR!!
I can only assume that they're not ready to reveal the Eternal Crusade PvP mode yet, so the Heretic Astartes weapons probably won't be seen until much closer to (or on) release.
I think the Heretic melee class is a world eater, so they should have chain axes. This video only showed off loyalist weapons, so obviously no chain axes.

Honestly besides flamers, I’m hoping we get some more exotic weapons (boltstorm gauntlets, combi weapons, terminator armor, *centurion armor?* ) Honestly besides that, they have a pretty good representation of the standard 10th edition marines
What I noticed was that power fist and thunder hammer seem to have more crowd control than single target damage. The combat knife seems to have the highest single target damage. It doesn't compute.
@@selectionn cause it's the size of a Messer, an irl combat "knife" from Germany. You'll be surprised what is and isn't classes as a knife in the real world.

The developer did say they used Astartes as a reference point when making the trailer cinematic, so it likely inspired some more in the game itself I would say.
5$ says Syama Petersen (the guy who made the Astartes fan film and was snatched up by GW) worked on the Astartes models in-game. They look and move too good to have been GW's own hand.

There actually is a flamethrower in campaign. You mainly use to it do disperse ripper swarms as they're like an environmental hazard. At least in the leaked version it didn't feel that good to use it on normal enemies though.
honestly the only thing they're missing is a flamer. I never would have expected any of these but they'd be cool to see in the future, but grav weapons, an inferno pistol (melta pistol), neo volkite weapons, those stupid *stupid* rocket launchers, and maybe even some of the old heavy weapons like the auto cannon or las cannon.

The designs on all the weapons, especially the bolters, are probably some of my favorite interpretations of 40k human weapons I've ever seen. Many games and media try to make them as close to what they look like in all the old artwork and on the tabletop models as they can but these things have bits and pieces of modern military hardware on them that make sense for a ballistic combat rifle, just 38,000 years in the future and intended to be used by a giant dude in power armor.

Bolters are the most disconnected thing from reality that you can possibly get in a sci-fi weapon. They: 1. Use rocket-propelled ammunition to deliver an explosive payload. Explosive bullets do the exact same damage to a target if they're going 5 meters a second or 5000 meters a second upon impact. The sheer waste of payload capacity, manufacturing cost & complexity and logistical strain this causes in a universe-sized war cannot be described by words alone. 2. Somehow have "massive recoil". One of the few benefits with rocket propulsion is that there is no recoil. Outside of an initial tiny charge to have the round leave the gun, there'd be absolutely none. Furthermore, the bigger & heavier a gun is, the less recoil it has. Bolters are huge & heavy and should have none accordingly. 3. Don't utilize the potential of Space Marines. Every single part of them are designed to be able to operate in extremely hostile conditions without backup, but their primary weapon is something that will run out of ammo after 5 minutes of fighting while the guardsmen get the actual good infinite ammo weapons (lasguns) that you can recharge by throwing the cells into fires and other junk.
@@Coecoo1st point isn't true because of how blast waves work. A projectile moving faster will penetrate deeper and once inside the explosive causes more damage than it would have with a surface level explosion. 2nd point isn't true since the round is so large that getting it out of the barrel would require a massive charge to accelerate it to even subsonic levels. 3rd point is sort of true but irrelevant given that space marine ships make their own ammo and weapons.
In darktide, the plasma pistol is one of the best main weapons in the game as a vet and needed to be two handed. Now it's a secondary weapon. Watching a space marine hold it like a small pistol (and fires it like one) shows just how big an Astartes is
The melee combat always seemed promising, but dedicated combos? Stance switching with the power sword? This is above and beyond on the Soulslike/Hack&Slash department, and I couldn’t be more happier
PvE missions are endless replayability from what I've heard from them, and seeing the classes and weapons being level up progression I can see why. Not to mention it not just being a linear buff where it's always better making the old weapons outdated and EVERY weapon having a strength over others is a WONDERFUL touch.
I've sunk hundreds of hours on the first game and this one looks like everything the first game was and more, so I'm confident we'll be able to sink a lot more time in that one.
This game will be the first Warhammer game for me and my friend. After seeing all class avaiable in this game, Bulwark and Heavy is definitely will be my go to. Since Tank class is the least favorite class in my group I have to pick it up, so thank you dev for making Tank class looks fun to play in this game.

Hopefully this will inspire tabletop to make primaris Reiver class less awkwardly useless. Space marine with a batman hook sounds badass, and so it should be in the tabletop.
Yeah, it would be really cool if they got big bonuses to their charges, it wouldn't be to inbalanced since they have a low melee damage potential but it would mean you could use them in some pretty interestin g utility manner, like rushing them forward and tagging an important enemy unit in melee T1.
The way the marine moves so fluently in combat and looks as if it's constantly hitting combos is INSANE. I hope that's just standard gameplay mechanics so when you (if you can) land combo chains in-game it's even more badass. Can't afford the PC to run this, but damn I can't wait to see it
my guess is that they're waiting for an official primaris kit to get lightning claws (one that isn't a chapter master), most likely when vanguard vets get a refresh.
I really hoped there would be a flamer and a heavy flamer for heavy. I mean, it's perfect weapon to fight hordes of bugs. Maybe they will add it as DLC.

Aw man, I was hoping for the pump action pellet shotgun from the boltgun game. Especially since you can put deathwatch armor on your space marine and deathwatch are known for having pump action shotguns.
Well we do play as Primaris and most first born weapons literally do not fit in their hands, no idea of the primaris scouts have shotty's though... I think they do?
From what I understand, Tactical Marine has access to a *lot* of the weapons except the Heavy Primary weapons, so it's a good chance that the Tactical marine has the Heavy Bolt pistol
It's either an Eradicator (Heavy Class) with Multi Melta and plasma pistol for me, or a Tactical with Heavy Bolt Rifle for me... Dark Angel of course... for the Lion, for the Emperor ! For Caliban...
I really hope the Heavy/Gravis armor class will be able to wield flamestorm or boltstorm gauntlets and im sad to see that there's no flamer for my salamander.. I remember seeing one in one of the trailers

If this game ends up being good, I need every warhammer fan to buy it. The more money we give them, the more content/weapons they will release. I will not stop until i get lightning claws, volkites, gravity weapons, force weapons, Librarians, Terminators, Dreadnaughts, And even Custodes or PRIMARCH RELIC WEAPONS. Kinda sad the Heavy flamer didn't make the cut. It was awesome toasting the bugs in deathwing, plus it was always funny to drop the "get the flamer, the heavy flamer" meme. So far so good, it looks amazing.
The weird thing is we know that the regular flamer is in the game. We’ve seen it in gameplay trailers. Wonder why it’s missing from this list. Maybe there’s some things being left out as a surprise?
This game will be my first contact with the franchise. And holy, the first contact looks badass af. And I am already in love with the heavy bolt rifle and hammer.

I do hope they give the Heavy Bolt rifle to the Heavy. Want to be that Captain in Gravis Armor with a Heavy Bolt rifle model. So it would have a reason. I think it’s safe to say this is probably the game I’m going to sink the most hours into this year. And both P3 Reload and SMTV Vengeance released this year. This game looks genuinely like everything I’ve ever wanted out of a game.

The designs on all the weapons, especially the bolters, are probably some of my favorite interpretations of 40k human weapons I've ever seen. Many games and media try to make them as close to what they look like in all the old artwork and on the tabletop models as they can but these things have bits and pieces of modern military hardware on them that make sense for a ballistic combat rifle, just 38,000 years in the future and intended to be used by a giant dude in power armor.
They are accurate representation of the current models. Since the primarisation they went for a more tacti-cool look.

@@lemurlock4689 dude, they were talking about the look of the weapons being more like real- modern and i told them tat new models are like that too. Hod did you reaches the conclusion that i mean the game being reallistic? Is a space marine fighting an alien, of course is not realistic.
Bolters are the most disconnected thing from reality that you can possibly get in a sci-fi weapon. They:
1. Use rocket-propelled ammunition to deliver an explosive payload. Explosive bullets do the exact same damage to a target if they're going 5 meters a second or 5000 meters a second upon impact. The sheer waste of payload capacity, manufacturing cost & complexity and logistical strain this causes in a universe-sized war cannot be described by words alone.
2. Somehow have "massive recoil". One of the few benefits with rocket propulsion is that there is no recoil. Outside of an initial tiny charge to have the round leave the gun, there'd be absolutely none. Furthermore, the bigger & heavier a gun is, the less recoil it has. Bolters are huge & heavy and should have none accordingly.
3. Don't utilize the potential of Space Marines. Every single part of them are designed to be able to operate in extremely hostile conditions without backup, but their primary weapon is something that will run out of ammo after 5 minutes of fighting while the guardsmen get the actual good infinite ammo weapons (lasguns) that you can recharge by throwing the cells into fires and other junk.
@@Coecoo1st point isn't true because of how blast waves work. A projectile moving faster will penetrate deeper and once inside the explosive causes more damage than it would have with a surface level explosion.
2nd point isn't true since the round is so large that getting it out of the barrel would require a massive charge to accelerate it to even subsonic levels.
3rd point is sort of true but irrelevant given that space marine ships make their own ammo and weapons.
In darktide, the plasma pistol is one of the best main weapons in the game as a vet and needed to be two handed.
Now it's a secondary weapon. Watching a space marine hold it like a small pistol (and fires it like one) shows just how big an Astartes is
Great showcase. Learning that each melee weapon gets its own combos on top of the new dodge and parry mechanics has gotten me twice as interested now.
The clanking sound of reloading the bolter magazines sound so satisfying. Really shows how massive it is.
one thing i'm very glad to see is that there will be many moments that aren't super brightly lit. provides a very cool element of realism.
The melee combat always seemed promising, but dedicated combos? Stance switching with the power sword? This is above and beyond on the Soulslike/Hack&Slash department, and I couldn’t be more happier
This game is absolutely insane the level of detail. The fact it has darksouls esque is crazy good
the only thing im worried about is melee combat in the pvp mode. will it just be LMB spam? or will there be counters n stuff

PvE missions are endless replayability from what I've heard from them, and seeing the classes and weapons being level up progression I can see why. Not to mention it not just being a linear buff where it's always better making the old weapons outdated and EVERY weapon having a strength over others is a WONDERFUL touch.

I've sunk hundreds of hours on the first game and this one looks like everything the first game was and more, so I'm confident we'll be able to sink a lot more time in that one.

This game will be the first Warhammer game for me and my friend. After seeing all class avaiable in this game, Bulwark and Heavy is definitely will be my go to. Since Tank class is the least favorite class in my group I have to pick it up, so thank you dev for making Tank class looks fun to play in this game.

The classes in the game seem to be based more on Troop/Elite units, no HQ choices.

After seeing the melee section I'm wondering what a 40K game made by the Monster Hunter Dev's could be like?
Hopefully this will inspire tabletop to make primaris Reiver class less awkwardly useless. Space marine with a batman hook sounds badass, and so it should be in the tabletop.
Yeah, it would be really cool if they got big bonuses to their charges, it wouldn't be to inbalanced since they have a low melee damage potential but it would mean you could use them in some pretty interestin g utility manner, like rushing them forward and tagging an important enemy unit in melee T1.

The way the marine moves so fluently in combat and looks as if it's constantly hitting combos is INSANE. I hope that's just standard gameplay mechanics so when you (if you can) land combo chains in-game it's even more badass. Can't afford the PC to run this, but damn I can't wait to see it

my guess is that they're waiting for an official primaris kit to get lightning claws (one that isn't a chapter master), most likely when vanguard vets get a refresh.

Aw man, I was hoping for the pump action pellet shotgun from the boltgun game. Especially since you can put deathwatch armor on your space marine and deathwatch are known for having pump action shotguns.
Well we do play as Primaris and most first born weapons literally do not fit in their hands, no idea of the primaris scouts have shotty's though... I think they do?

From what I understand, Tactical Marine has access to a *lot* of the weapons except the Heavy Primary weapons, so it's a good chance that the Tactical marine has the Heavy Bolt pistol

It's either an Eradicator (Heavy Class) with Multi Melta and plasma pistol for me, or a Tactical with Heavy Bolt Rifle for me... Dark Angel of course... for the Lion, for the Emperor ! For Caliban...

I dont mind people talking, but so often they inject their opinions about the weapon instead of just displaying what the thing is and letting the viewer come to their own conclusions about the thing.
Kinda sad the Heavy flamer didn't make the cut. It was awesome toasting the bugs in deathwing, plus it was always funny to drop the "get the flamer, the heavy flamer" meme.

As I remember it on ps3, chain axe was only available when playing as chaos, it's unclear if it's the same case here.

Darktide isn't perfect but it's far from a letdown, the gameplay in itself it 10/10, it's biggest issues is replayability and itemisation.
