- We captured this session at The Rabbit Box Theatre in January 2023 while Melissa was touring the West.
Melissa's an upright bassist, singer, and songwriter from Arkansas who writes songs with a mix of classic country, western swing, and jazz. We found her tunes a few years back and she’s become a huge inspiration. The stories shared through her songs express familiar sentiments but bring Melissa’s experience to the table, shedding light on topics often uncovered in country music.
As we’re all heading in to the weekend, I strongly recommend you all listen to a Melissa Carper record. Any of them. You won't regret it.

Had the pleasure of seeing Melissa perform about a year-and-a-half ago. She could not have been better (or nicer). Bought a CD (Daddy’s Country Gold). Still in my car on the rotation. Her voice is something from beyond (the good place).
