Really good video!! I made the same list because of the characters that could regen as well. Really good to see people breaking it down by character and the damage outputs towards armor.
Summary: Light Armor: Mid - Long-term Gunfights. Heavy Armor: Speedrun - Short-term Gunfights. Reminder: It's always depends on your capability/confident to win a Gunfight. Also. In some cases, it depends on the Agent's Abilities. (More on Passives)
I came from Valorant so once I saw light armor, I immediately lost any interest in it. I guess I should've read the whole thing lol, great video dude, keep it up. You have to help me reach Singularity
celestia is way still better in light armor as she doesnt regen her own shield unless there's a teammate close to her to proc her skill. but it is really good to go heavy armor if you have celestia on your team and just stick to her most of the time. good video explanation
Personally, I would only take Heavy on Ming because its Ming, thats what she does. Everyone else I'm mostly taking trades so its always going to be Light Regen. TTK isnt super quick unless you get dove on by like 3+ people, so I prefer regen for the quick peak/trades. Snipers are completely excluded from this because everyone is a god and 1 pops (and maybe Reiichi. Dawn 2 taps are so fast you'd think it was a sniper.) nonetheless, thank you for providing an actual time for the light regen. It's nice knowing about it.
I'm a bit surprised you got it right at your first try. Light armor is generally a must except for the agents you've mentioned. This is because the TTK in this game is much much lower (eHP and movement) so trading doesn't immediately turn into a kill unlike Valorant/CS2. That means most of the time you will have a down time where your armor/health can regen given you choose the right armor + nade combo. Even if you do win a 1v1 due to you picking Heavy over Light armor, there are still 4 other players you need to play against after you won that duel.
actually the first great video i've seen on strinova. The only thing i have to say is even with the agent you mentionned light is better because even if you have rengen armor in your kit you can just rengen it faster with light and take fight more often.
What I've been doing so far as a Ming player is buy heavy if I have Celestia (She has the armor regen auro thing) on my team and light if we don't. I'll be honest I don't notice the differences yet I think its really good if youre actually a duo with the Celestia and comming with them so they mostly just pocket you. But i play solo ranked cause all my friends quit playing competitive games 😅😢
Playing Reiichi and Nobunaga isn't really handy with Light armor because you either playing as anchor site(Nobunaga can regen in his kit) Reiichi need heavy armor to withstand lethal damage as he become a second sniper DMR. Every character are having a chance and probability for each gameplay that diversity with their player. Light regen are designed for long term battle while heavy armor for those like ming and baimo(need to withstand lot of damage) or Reiichi/kanami/kokona/Nobunaga (dueling on long range with heavy damage weapon)
Light armor is best overall in bomb. Even if you have regen it means you just will regen faster. You need to do full rotation to actually heal completely, but in fact, most of the time you will be drained 1\2 before fights, so for example it will be 50\90 and with regen it will be 70\90. Light armor works all of the time, while heavy is heavily(heh) relies on luck and your team regen. In cart mode, as other case, if you are CQB player you always go for heavy, cause it gives you 50 armor from enemy box, while light only 30. You better be kill as much as you can and die and respawn with full health, than waiting for regen.
TBH I'm not sure about taking heavy on Kokona cuz the regen is on the active. Also fwiw I think if you're engaging early like Flavia / Fuschia (and maybe the shotgun chars) potentially you can go heavy especially cuz you do pick up armor from enemies' corpse.
That makes sense! I think depending on your playstyle that's also worth doing. I did test light regen armor with Nobunaga and found regenerating so fast to be pretty fun.
True! If I recall correctly though one of her awaken skills lets her skill be used on someone else and still give you the armor regen (idk if that's better than the other awaken skill though).
@SirLaufer afaik, drone regens armor for the people around the one getting healed, that's the other awaken. Tho I would say the drone absorbing damage is the better awaken, cuz that's basically extra armor
I wanted to double check so I tested it really quick, seems like that Awaken's regen can also apply to yourself as long as you're nearby. But I agree with you, the damage absorption Awaken is probably the better pick. The wiki says it absorbs 50 damage which is pretty insane.
Bruhh this is just common sense. This game isn’t about fighting once and being done. If you take damage or get surprise-attacked, you back off, sidestep, regroup, and would you look at that, full armor again. Wow, 25 extra points of armor is better than that. I don't get how the brains of these people who say 'more armor means more HP.' Yeah right, back to full armor is less than 25 points of "more HP". I thought the description was obvious enough for you to image what this can do.
Damn man it's almost as if this whole video is meant to explain that to people who didn't think of it that way, you should start a youtube channel with all these great tips and tricks
I think it can be helpful to some to have guides like this. I know I've played other competitive games where there were certain "obvious" aspects I didn't think about on my own.
Meanwhile Audrey equipped Heavy Armor goes BRRRR while Ming equipped Heavy Armor and uses Ult goes to 300AP
Really good video!! I made the same list because of the characters that could regen as well. Really good to see people breaking it down by character and the damage outputs towards armor.
Thanks!
You answering all my question regarding about armor choice!
This will change everything!
Glad I could help!

Yeah back when I first started out I just assumed Heavy was better. Thanks for the kind words!
Good Video, love new Strinova creators :D
Hopefully this video blows up cuz I learned more than I know from this game :D
Glad I could help!
Really underrated editing! Video was very nice to watch
Thanks! I put a lot of effort into the editing so I really appreciate that.

Yeah that was my overall logic too, you don't wanna be at a disadvantage for the rest of the round after your first gunfight.
Hoping you get all the views! Very good video
Thank you! I appreciate that.
I’m a simple man, at my current level (noob) I die too fast for the light armor regen to be useful so heavy armor
I'm a simple man. I see regen, I picked regen.
Based
This vid is like finding the gold fortnite scar. Such a good vid
LOL thanks, I appreciate that.

That's a fair take! Regen armor on top of regen in your kit can get you back to full really fast.
My thoughts exactly
What I've been doing so far as a Ming player is buy heavy if I have Celestia (She has the armor regen auro thing) on my team and light if we don't. I'll be honest I don't notice the differences yet I think its really good if youre actually a duo with the Celestia and comming with them so they mostly just pocket you. Duo queuing with a Celestia player would be really nice! But yeah agreed, working closely with the Celestia on your team can be really beneficial.
Playing Reiichi and Nobunaga isn't really handy with Light armor because you either playing as anchor site(Nobunaga can regen in his kit) Reiichi need heavy armor to withstand lethal damage as he become a second sniper DMR.

Good points!
heavy armor for close combat
you can pick enemy armor to regen heavy armor just like I'm playing apex legend armor swap
Light armor is best overall in bomb. Even if you have regen it means you just will regen faster. i doubt the unconditional armor regen on celestia. it felt like she only regenerate armor only when she's near teamate....
Always heavy armor if there's celestia/kokona
Even if i play agents with their own armour regen, i still use light regen armour. your armour regens faster and so you can take more fights
That makes sense! I think depending on your playstyle that's also worth doing. I did test light regen armor with Nobunaga and found regenerating so fast to be pretty fun.
I would pick Heavy Armor, if it wasn't for my Celestia instantly dying 5 sec after round starts or not staying with the team at all.
Yeaaaa that tends to happen a lot lol, not fun
Imo, Kokona should take light regen armor and instead prioritize using her skill on duelists or anyone close to dying instead of herself.
True! If I recall correctly though one of her awaken skills lets her skill be used on someone else and still give you the armor regen (idk if that's better than the other awaken skill though).

If you have a Celeste go heavy if ur Ming heavy everything else light
U should run light armor in ming.
So THat's what light regen means...
As a person who as pocket kokona/celestia i never buy light
