My dad used to have one of these in the den where he had a long console stereo. The stereo had a turn table, AM/FM radio, 8 track player, 16 speakers, pugs for extra satellite speakers and a plug for an electric guitar. That was his beer room and it had a tv, couch. recliners but the main attraction was that beer sign.
Love this sign. Hey could ya possibly just do another HD version of the whole loop? 1080p would be awesome. This is the best I have seen yet. I'm looking for the whole loop to play on my 55" For ambience while playin some jams and relaxing. I would appreciate it so much
I looked this up to share with my niece. When I was growing up, my mom would take me and my sister and grandma to a cafe in Kansas, and my sister and I would always ask to sit in the booth with this sign because it was so fascinating. That was in the late 70's/early 80's.
I sat in a bar with my Dad, yes we kids could be there by the pool table eating our hamburger watching this sign. Smelling that bar smell. 😋I’ve always wanted this dam sign. Never found one with the sound, water all working & in my price range. Love this video.
This is well shot...I love the zoom and edit and zoom again...I can't believe how well it films! Satisfies my desire to own one. Had one when I was a kid....Viva la Land of Sky Blue Waters....
I love those pictures I have one of a beach but its not affiliated with any beer to have a Hamm’s beer moving picture like that would be so awesome it would always be on lol
I remember them well, could watch it for hours or until I passed out which ever came first. I'd rather watch this then the 24/7 Yule Log that runs on TV every Christmas
I have to hand it to the Hamm's people. They did an amazing job with marketing. The east side of St. Paul where Hamm's was brewed looks nothing like these pics.
@@M0rganFReelance Greyhound bus. I had one shipped that way in two pieces- one box was roof panels, and one had the sign. Wrap the whole thing in plastic, get a big sheet of styrofoam wall insulation, cut it to encase the sign, tape up the insulation, find or make a box, and make sure you print out some big FRAGILE signs and tape them to the box. Maybe 'top stack only' signs, too. Take it to Greyhound, and load it onto a bus.
The first scene is a picture (I wanted the Hamm's Beer Bear to make an appearance). Yes, I added the sounds. I didn't want the video to seem too much like a silent movie.
Thanks for clearing that up. I’ve seen a few of the Hamms signs in bars way back in the 1970’s, but I didn’t think any of them had sound. They did look great with the rippling water and such…You’ve probably been told this before, but if you could make these real they’d sell like hotcakes
WillCorg like I said in my comment my grandpa had one like this but it was for Lone Star Beer in San Antonio Texas where he worked heard of Lone Star????!!!!
This is awesome. I just picked up this same sign after searching for a while. Ever thought of installing a Bluetooth speaker in one to be able to play these sounds?
The light is from fluorescent tubes. The illusion of water and campfire smoke movement is due to a series of diagonal black lines below the rolling film. It's a clever effect.
Most any video editing software will allow you to add sounds or music to a video file. I use Movie Edit Pro, by Magix. It also has various special effects you can add as well as lets you add titles, etc. if you like. Good luck.
Hi there mrken503. I bought one of these great signs 20 years ago and want to get it going. Everything works but the illusion of movement isn't consistent. Who can fix these, or where can I buy one that works? My name is Erik Jacobsen and would appreciate the info. Thanks
Just read the, Show more info, on the sign. This is called a Scene-a-Rama but I didn't know they made some with sounds. Did you add the sounds on your own when making this video? It looks to be 2 different Hamms beer signs. One with Hamms Bear, the other with the rippler scene. Any feedback would be great.
No, I don't personally. Selling it on eBay would probably be your best bet since it reaches such a large audience. I'm sure someone would really like to have such a classic beer sign. Good luck.
When i was little my grand parents had a house full of this kind of stuff. When they past away a relative went in and tossed it all into the trash. What a waste.
Hi Rich. The Allow Embedding option was selected for this video, so it can be embedded in others sites. Thanks for your interest. Can I ask what type of project you might want to use it in? Thanks, Ken
Stupified me, into a looping trance,
in front of the tall,
BEER and ICE cooler.
The best I have seen ,for a beer light.
I love this. Please do the entire loop as it’s so beautiful and relaxing.
LOL,
I have this sign. I bought it for 30.00 41 years ago. enjoy it daily
Right on !!
foolin' around in the tent. That's awesome. I could watch these signs all day.

Sounds like a great setup back in the day particularly with the Hamm's Beer sign being the center piece.
There was one of these in our local liquor store when I was a kid! I was enchanted!

Very cool. It's an iconic beer sign for sure.
just a quick question did it have this audio playing from it or was that added to the video for the sake of entertainment?
@@aaronstanley6914 Yes, I added the sound to it.
I'm not a beer drinker, but I want this sign.
The local pizza joint when I was a kid had one one of these. Loved it. Miss that place.
My mom ran a cafe and bar. Loved these signs
+Ardis Crosby-Sears Yeah, they are the best!
Love me some hamms beer commercials.
I have one.......My mom ran a bar since the 60's. I will never let it go.
I don't blame you. I think they are the ultimate cool vintage beer sign!
I miss the old, animated beer signs!
I want to spend a summer in that camp

The "Forks Resort" has one behind the bar at Bass Lake Ca. Grew up sitting/eating at bar, just too watch this thing.

Ken, the zoom in looks like a 70s movie. Awesome Sign!
I have a screen saver of this sign. Really beautiful.
I have to hand it to the Hamm's people. They did an amazing job with marketing. The east side of St. Paul where Hamm's was brewed looks nothing like these pics.
Why don’t they make cool stuff like this any more?
these go for around 1k on ebay now! wow but why not its the best sign ever made!
how do you ship it safely?? i have one that i would like to sell now...

I own this in my garage its the full size
Nice. They are very cool beer signs!
got one. Love it!
When I was in college I wanted to make that my screen saver.
Is every body and their brother trying to replicate this nostalgic American beer commercial
Thanks!
mrken503 love this video sounds of nature....my grandpa had one like this but it was for Lone Star Beer like I said love the sign
Thanks. I hadn't heard of the Lone Star beer motion sign, but just watched a video of it. That's a cool beer sign!
Thank you!!!
Lordy . . . I found the old Hamm's neon sign !!!
Thank you, I had this sign and I used to love looking at it (till the motor died)..

No, but sounds like an interesting concept.
Awesome! Whats the name of the song in the end?
Thanks. The Solo Harmonica Chug at the end of the video was by the Chess Allstars
You have certainly gotten your money's worth. They are a bit more expensive these days, but are still very cool signs.
Theeee Best !!!
Love it! I will buy it from ya.lol
Can you please tell me, is it a rolling film that is backlit with LED's? How does the campfire and moving water work?
The light is from fluorescent tubes. The illusion of water and campfire smoke movement is due to a series of diagonal black lines below the rolling film. It's a clever effect.
You can also reverse the sign for when your patrons had too much to drink.

That guy was pitching a tent 🏕 .
Did the sign make the sound or did you add that?
Yes, I added that.
Isn't this basically the film "Sky Blue Water Light Sign" by JJ Murphy?
Yeah it must be. I haven't seen the film but from the stills of it were just like the sign.
Great Job!!!!!!!!!! You can get a 30 pak of hamm's here in town for $14..99.
I bought one 20 years ago. Came in two boxes. Still haven't opened them.
Wow, would you ever want to sell it?
If you still have it and want to sell it call me 920-876-3357.
We are The Hamm's Men, we make Hamm's videos. We got 85 as of now. Check them out and look for us on facebook and twitter.
Thanks. That's a lot of Sky Blue Water for only $14.99.

The sign has no sound, but I added some to it.
I wish I could get my hands on one of these. Unfortunately, they go for around $1,000 now....
