I have my old man's Homelite Zip saw he was using the day he dropped dead from a massive heart attack in November of 1973. I inherited it and used it until I bought a new Homelite XL12 to replace it. The Zip was built in the days when stuff was built to last.
I have one of those! Think mine's like a '62 if I remember correctly. Runs like a champ. Love the way it sounds - loud and scary. The people you sold it to are probably using it for a chainsaw horror flic!
Pretty good condition started up right away do you know where I can get a chainsaw chain in the front part that goes around the chain it has two bolts I like the way it was running and how you had it running for a while
Maybe you might be able to tell me what i got? Trying to restore my grandpa's homelite and i cant figure out what model or year it is. Sparkplug is on the bottom, it is red with green recoil. Looks close to yours in this video just different colors, thanks. Awesome video though, i love these old saws like this one.

Me and my father had gotten this exact saw fro my grandfathers garage after sitting for 10 years and it will not get spark to the spark plug do u know any posibilities of what could be wrong?
@@bigdmc1 looks good :) I took one of the pieces of my blue xl12 into lordco they scanned it came up with a colour it's close but it's darker not as bright of blue. The red he matched bang on can't tell difference between original paint and new paint

Nice saw! Do you have a source for Homelite decals? I have a Zip, a Zip B, and a 660 D that I would like to restore to original.
I made those decals myself but now sugar creek supply makes them and sometimes you can find them on ebay.

I don't know I custom mixed it to match the original
Captain Moroni, start out with 1968 Pontiac 389/400/455 engine paint,, I think you will be amazed by how close it is.
